Happy 2019!

About 80% of the way through my WIP.
Finished what I think is the last major sex scene. I finding writing sex scenes rather draining because of the HONESTY required. The scenes are not to titillate, but to communicate. Because that's how my two central protagonists communicate most honestly with each other.

It's not that they lie every time they open their mouths. It's just that words are not always the best medium with which to communicate the truth.

2019

It's going to be one of those years where it's all work and no play; dull, tedious, but important.

About 70% of the way through the first draft of the WIP. Coincidentally, it's approaching Christmas there, but it's summer.

The first draft should be done by spring. But I doubt it'll be published before 2020.

Already started looking for another job. Nothing lasts for ever. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing

Anniversaries

This photo was taken 4 November, 2014, on Tuesday, which was when my father died. I forgot about it until Facebook reminded me. I can't remember remembering last year, or the year before. Things have been busy. Crazy how time flies. FOUR YEARS have passed since he went for a swim in a canal and appeared allow himself to drown. He died in an eerily similar manner to one of my characters in a work of fanfiction which I wrote in 2008.

The first review

A glimpse of the future

When my WIP is published, a number of people (most of whom will be Scandinavian) will be listed in the Dedications. One will not be named. But he will be acknowledged. Credit where credit's due

A pause for collection

Posing as the main character in my wip despite the fact that I don't really look like her. Appearances can be deceptive enough as it is and this might confuse things more, but it's CHEAPER if I do it myself.
More than a quarter of the way through, and now it's time to edit and tidy things up before proceeding. 
Could be two-thirds of the way through before the end of the year.

I'm rearranging the road where my deceased uncle lived.

This is the house opposite the one where my main character is currently renting a room. It may not be particularly relevant, but this is it.

And this character here...I don't think she's human. Literally.

I'm reading this. Two  chapters done. Aim to read two chapters a day, so should be done before Halloween.

Thus far

I'm about a third of the way through my WIP, and I warn you now, if you're a parent of small children, or about to become one, AVOID this book when it comes out. I say this as someone who remembers what it's like to be in the grip of maternal hormones. Anything involving small children being harmed was harrowing in a way that I could never have imagined before. Even the final instalment of the Twilight film saga was painful for me to watch.
