This book was nothing that I expected. I had expected something heavy and ponderous, something dark and solemn, filled with densely packed emotions that it would take me months to work through and fully articulate. However, it was unexpectedly exhilarating.

The story starts in the mundane world, with a family leaving their home to make a new start in another city. Curiously, as Charles (the father) looks back at the house that they are leaving, and which is associated with "nightma...

Limited Options, by Cammy-Kun

Limited Options

Listened to this album on YouTube more than a year ago. Bought it more recently.

It wasn't what I'd expected. I'd expected something louder, less understated. Overall, it's a far more thoughtful piece than I'd anticipated. However, despite the gentleness of the delivery, this isn't background music. It's not the sort of thing I'd listen to whist exercising or doing the housework, because there is significant meaning that can be missed if one doesn't give attention to the lyrics....

Till 2020

The intensity of 2019 is kicking in. It's just one of those years when it's all business. I know 2020 will be more fun. But 2021 could be one of those stuck-in-a-rut-that-I'm-not-mad-keen-on years and 2022 could bring a lot of upheaval if I don't prune away as much of the undesirable stuff as possible before 2021. (I watch for those recurring twelve-yearly patterns.)

Anyway, I'll be silent for the bulk of 2019, maybe until autumn.

I'm about 85% of the way through my WIP. It's sort of young adul...
