Between the Covers ~ Anything Goes
Today’s Between the Covers is an excerpt from Anything Goes, Zander Oaks, Book # 11. Enjoy.
“Please tell me you’re not one of those.”
“Those.” He dipped the roller in the paint and noted they had went with a warm yellow color.
“The hardware or home improvement store junkies.”
She sounded so aghast he had to stifle a laugh. “Maybe.” He looked at her. “Is that a deal breaker.”
“For what.”
He tsked. “Come now don’t do that.”
“What?” She gave him a look that was way to innocent to be true.
“You’re messing with me.” Baldwin stared at her.
There was a twinkle in her eyes. “Of course. You looked all serious.” She bumped shoulders with him. “I’m thinking that’s a regular thing with you.”
“Maybe.” Baldwin wasn’t about to outright admit he’d been called intense.
He focused on painting the wall while still looking at her from time to time.
“Definitely.” She sobered then stared into his eyes. The intensity in her golden gaze was disconcerting.
“What?”
“I’m gonna figure out what makes you tick.” She shrugged then picked up her own roller and started to paint.
“That’s good.” He leaned closer. “We’re gonna have to go on dates. All in the name of research of course.”
“Of course.” She chuckled. “Gotta watch you, you’re a slick one who just backed me into dating you. Very smart, Mister MD.”
“Baldwin.”
“Baldwin.” She said.
The sound of his name in that slightly lyrical accent of hers made him hard.

Stephen stretched then looked at the time and winced. He was going to be late and he hated being late. He picked up the phone to call Vanessa. A knock on the door made him look up. He set the phone down then rose.
“Vanessa.” He smiled watching her stride in.
“Figured you’d get caught up in paperwork so bringing food to you for a change. “ Vanessa held up the bag she had brought and came around the desk. “Now I know that you have food here and your day chef may get offended.” She paused then. “Don’t tell Tobias either. I wanted to surprise you so didn’t call them.”
“I won’t tell. “ He paused. “Maybe. What you gonna give me to not tell?”
“Ohhh..bribery is against the law.” She stopped beside him and set the bag on the desk. “Hmmm…I’m going to think of something.”
She lifted her head and he met her kissing her gently. Vanessa placed her hands on his chest. They pulled back and stared into each other’s eyes.
“Busy day.” She wasn’t asking.
“Yeah.” Stephen slid his hands around his waist. “I was looking forward to a break and seeing you. Thought I would need to cancel.”
“I came to you instead.” Vanessa smiled. “Let’s eat and tell each other about our days.”
“Sounds good to me.” He kissed her again and thought of how great it was to have her here.

Grooving ~ Haunted by Murder

This is an Aurora Teagarden Mystery series of movies following the same cast.
Just like the others I’m loving it. Love the dynamics and the watching the mystery unfold. So good! Great movie with wonderful world building and fun, awesome characters.

Getting ready for the new book in the JD Robb In Death series!
Doing a reread of the last few books in JD Robb’s In Death series.
Read Desperation in Death.
As I have said before – This series is one I reread often (yes I reread often even though it’s a lot of books in series. I love this series). From the first time I read this series it caught me with the world building. All the books in this series are so amazing. They build on each other. Love them. And I will say again…..
I love me some Roarke and Eve. I also love Peabody, Feeney, and McNab. Mavis has a special place in my heart. Leonardo is a cutie. Trina well I’m with Eve on this she is a little scary but I like her anyway. Tibble… boy the list of characters can go on and on. Let’s just say that I love the whole In Death series.
Just reading a few so I’ll be ready for the new book. I love reading the books again.
Now back to reading.
