The year is starting out well.

Everyone looked like they were having fun with their submissions to the Inner Circle Writers' Group anthologies, that I thought I would submit one as well. My flash, "How I Met Ali", is one of the great little stories in Galaxy #14.

Support your local library, it might support you in return.

While grocery shopping the other day, I was told by a friend that my book, Witness Testimony and Other Tales, was featured in the section call Local Authors at the local library.

Well, I had to see for myself and sure enough, there it was (a first edition with the old cover) on display. I introduced myself to the librarian as the author and presented her with a copy of my new book, Two Sides of the Same Coin. She happily accepted it and was kind enough to take a picture of me standing next to the display.

Some authors only dream of this event coming true! BTW - it did show signs of having been read.

Look what I found...

Cruising Amazon the other day and I discovered the release of a new anthology which features one of my stories. "The Ballad of Cochise's Granddaughter" is one of the highlights of Saddlebag Dispatches latest anthology, Between Hell and Tombstone. It is available in paperback and Kindle formats: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/163...

It's nice to have the support of the bookstore owner.

Recently, I received this review of Two Sides of the Same Coin from the owner of The Iron Works Boutique (Tenino, WA) where the book is being offered for sale. I will be forever grateful.

"I just recently read Two Sides of the Same Coin. I couldn't put it down. As a young child I read all of the Sherlock Holmes books from our library. I've always loved them. This book is just as good. Thank you, Patricia, for writing and sharing these stores. P.S. If you live in the Tenino local area, they are for sale in my store - The Iron Works Boutique. -JW"

This review tickled my heart.

Just finished the short stories written in Two Sides of the Coin by P. A. O'Neil. In reading the stories you would swear they had been written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Loved the way she weaved the characters, the time, and Watson and Holmes friendship. I gave it a five. Great job and a fun read if you like mysteries with Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes. – JFC

Two Sides of the Same Coin: In-between stories of Sherlock Holmes and John H. Watson is available from Amazon in multiple formats.

Personal Review for the latest anthology to feature one of my stories.

I have a rule about not reviewing anthologies which contain my stories. But I cannot go without commenting on, Storytellers' True Stories of Triumph, as I checked out some of the other stories in this book.

They are thought provoking, revealing, relatable, and extremely well written. Even though these experiences were personal to the author, the reader feels as if they are right there going through the experience themselves.

If you're looking for an excellent read, please consider this book, and have a box of tissues handy when you do.

I am humbled with this award.

My greatest gratitude to the Will Rogers Medallion Award committee for awarding me 4th place in the Western Short Nonfiction category. Thank you to the folks at Saddlebag Dispatches Magazine for nominating my essay, "Northwest Passage: One Hundred Years of the Ellensburg Rodeo." I certainly cannot forget, my friend and mentor Dennis Doty, for asking me I wanted to take on the assignment.

I most certainly am humbled by this praise.

And the results are in...

Inside sources have informed me that my essay about the Ellensburg Rodeo Centennial has won 4th place in the Will Rogers Medallion Award national competition.

If I can ever figure out how to post a photo to share with you all, I'll be sure to do just that.
