Lungers, Lawdogs, and Legends is the name of the soon to be released anthology from Saddlebag Dispatches Magazine. I mention this because my story, "Leadville: A Pick, A Pan, and Chopsticks", will be featured in this book about the mining history of Leadville, Colorado.

When I was told, I would be featured author for Journeys 3, I was humbled that the publisher thought enough of my writing to put my name of the cover. The fact that the book was dedicated to our late friend, Steve Carr, made me want to give them my best work. I think, "Ode to Arabella", does just that.

Geez, they've known me for years

Like many of you, I spent yesterday with friends and family enjoying the company and celebrating the anniversary of our country's independence. Also like make of you, I introduced to people I've known for years the fact that I'm a published author. Short of carrying copies of my books with me at all times, I did show them the Amazon pages on my phone, but I felt I needed more as a way to prove I'm worth spending money on.

Thankfully I was able to share one of my stories on Spillwords Press and they liked the idea that reading it was free. Today I'm going to share one of the stories that earned the Story of the Month Award. Please enjoy reading it and maybe you might decide to spend some money on my work as well.

Today began the trial of WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich in Moscow, Russia on charges of being a spy for the United States.

The son of Russian immigrants to the USA, Evan is first-generation US Citizen and is being used as a pawn my Putin's government.

When you kneel beside your bedside tonight, please remember Evan Gershkovich in your prayers.
