Why today’s release is special
I have a new book out today! Kindred Spirit was originally written and released as part of the Dreamspinner States of Love series, but after receiving my rights back, it feels brand new to me. And it’s a story that is special for a different reason…
When I first learned about the Kindred Spirits mailbox, I knew this was what I wanted to center my story around. When looking online, the directions said you had to walk down the beach, and if you got to the jetty, you’d gone too far. Although I like to think...

The Last Night of Phase One
Sounds dramatic, doesn’t it?
Tomorrow is my first appointment for hormone therapy. Tomorrow feels a bit like a birthday to me. It’s the day I begin saying goodbye to Heather, the person I’ve been for the first 41 years of my life, and fully embrace Quinn, the person I’ve been growing into for longer than I consciously realized.
It wasn’t until tonight, when I opened my Blogger account, that I realized that I’ve known we were coming to this moment for a minimum of two years. When I look at the words I wro...

Use Me, Daddy – Sneak Peek
We’re less than a week away from the release of Use Me, Daddy, the second book in the Club 83 series! I can’t wait for you to see more of Cole, Andy’s friend from Kiss Me, Daddy, and Bear, the lovable bouncer from the club. For now, he’s a peek at the first chapter.
(Bear)
I wasn’t sure which I hated more: working the door where I had to deal with drunk assholes trying to convince me their ID absolutely was not fake or on the floor keeping an eye out for guys who’d crossed the line from a lit...

Transgender Day of Visibility – Do I See Me?
To say today’s been a bit of a rough day is a huge understatement. I have an amazingly wonderful, carefully cultivated circle on social media, and today they’re all posting in honor of TDOV. All of the “we see you” posts have had a very unintended effect, and not one I like.
I wanted to scream. Cry. Run away from the online world for the entire day. Why? Because how can yousee me if I can’t see myself?
It’s been three years since I started my “safe haven” profile online. Doesn’t seem possibl...

Why Pride Matters in Sports
Tonight’s Pride Night for the Canes and we’re counting down the hours to the game. Of course, the team changing their logo to the Pride version seems to have unleashed the butthurt in the bigoted, small-minded assholes.
“Why you making this political?”
Dude. A person being able to be honest about who they are without fear isn’t political. It’s humanitarian. The fact there’s currently a tie between sexuality and politics is proof of the work still to be done. It’s only when LGBTQ people don’t...

Finding Taylor – Chapter 1
I knew from a young age that I’d eventually find my way to the city. Why? Because it was much easier to be a whore when I don’t have to worry about looking a man in the eye the morning after having his cock down my throat or up my ass. There was a certain anonymity here that I couldn’t find anywhere else. If my single mother taught me one thing, it was that small towns are no place for a whore.
“That’s it, show me what a good little cocksucker you are. You’re such a fucking whore!” I didn’t g...

Kiss Me, Daddy
Coming this March: The first book in Kinky in the City: Club 83
“Do you know how much money I have on here?”
I tried to ignore the little boy and his parents behind me in line. With the holidays fast approaching, I didn’t need a reminder of what I didn’t have in my own life, namely a family so syrupy sweet they made my teeth ache. I’d never known what it was like to have a close-knit family. If I’d asked such a question, my father would’ve busted my balls for sounding greedy.
“Your gran usua...

Matteo’s Valentine’s Day Adventure
This was supposed to be a quick trip in and out of the store. We were running low on groceries because I’d just gotten back into town and Teo had relied on his brother to feed him in my absence. But I had plans for the next few days, none of which included clothes for my boy, so we needed to stop on the way home. Unfortunately, Teo was bratty tonight and he’d wandered off in a huff because I wouldn’t let him get the sugary cereal he was addicted to.
“Daddy! You’ve got to see this!” Teo nearl...

Imposter Syndrome is Universal
Imposter Syndrome is real. You won’t find it in any of the medical coding books and there hasn’t been significant research on the subject, but it’s an affliction many suffer from.
I see plenty of posts (and have made some myself) about feeling like we aren’t as talented as others. Our sales aren’t as high as others, so it must be a reflection of our talent. We don’t see people gushing over our books, so it must not happen. The list of complaints goes on and on.
This week, I was shown just how...

Guest Blog Post Ideas
As if writing a book isn’t hard enough, we’re then tasked with writing the damn blurb. Because, you know, if you were able to tell the story in 80,000 words, you should be able to do the same in 150 without giving away the big twists, right? Oh, so you thought the hard part was over? Now, it’s time to promote your book, and if you’re lucky, your tour organizer is going to ask you for some exclusive guest posts.
I’m pretty sure this scenario ranks up there in the list of writer nightmares. Aft...
