Have decided to get back into my drawing practice once more (predictably picking up hobbies because I have a book to write) . This time I'm planning a series with my favourite animals, starting with this Indian Eagle Owl, which looks (yay) like an owl! Which is half the battle won. A rare "ethnic" day though I'm not crazy about that word and how it others some clothes from the mainstream. In some eyes this is just a long top and pants, in others it's a kurta with pajamas. Either way, was feeling very attracted to chikan work since a friend came over wearing it and then serendipitously my mum gave me this kurta yesterday. Pants are old, cotton bell bottomy things from Anokhi. I like the way these look together. Fully transparent so you can see my (black) bra but I can't be bothered with a dupatta, so finicky and at least I'm WEARING a bra right? #whatiworetoday

Very social weekend and very nice weather so I'm not all bundled up in coats and scarves and sweaters. Haven't worn this dress a lot since I bought it at a street market in East Delhi, it's a bit warm and a bit tight for the summer. (Seriously tight, two person job zipping me up this morning and I'm all constricted like Scarlett O'Hara going to the Wilkes' barbecue and dance.) But it's ideal for this time of year! #whatiworetoday

A bit blurry but it's the best picture of my dress today! Had a few yards of red silk but not enough for the umbrella skirt AND the bodice so cut up a sari pallu for the top. I was scared it might look too kurta-y but i think it's working with the jewellery and make up no? (the rest of the sari is a hot pink silk panelled skirt maxi dress which I am WAITING to wear.) #whatiworetoday
