Banned Book Week – Author Reading!
In honor of Banned Book Week, I did my very first Facebook Live video reading of an excerpt from Spooning Leads to Forking: A Gay Teen Romance Story, which was banned on Amazon a few months ago.
After you watch the video (or don’t! It gets weird… LOL) be sure to check out this review of Spooning Leads to Forking by Trio on Kimmers’ Erotic Book Banter! They are a fantastic group of people who reached out to me and offered to review and promote my book after they learned about my clash with...

Fanfiction Writer Asks – 50 Q&A
Borrowed from a Tumblr post by criminal-minds-fanfiction.
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction? I was about 16-17 when I started writing original fiction and RP’ing (role-playing) original characters with friends. Then one friend got me hooked on South Park fanfiction when I was about 18, and it’s been a downhill ride ever since!
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one? I mainly write for the Dragon Age f...

White Working Class
Warning: This post gets a little political! Thought I’d warn you upfront.
I recently listened to a Rich Dad podcast by Robert Kiyosaki who had the author of the book “White Working Class”, Joan C. Williams, as his guest speaker. I picked up the book from my local library and thought she had some really interesting insights on how Trump came to win the election, and I was hit by one of those “aha” moments.
One of the biggest reasons, as I inferred from the interview, is because American leader...

The Cost of Failure
I spent the past year trying so many different things in order to find my calling and “failing” at pretty much everything I did. I started a charity, online store, went to school for stock market trading, studied sales, marketing, promoting, and everything under the sun in order to get my book sold only to have it removed from Amazon anyway.
Most people would either refuse to admit failure and make themselves miserable forcing a broken system to work or be crippled by failure and return to wo...

Spooning Leads to Forking by B.A. Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Not only was this my first read by this author, it was also not my normal read. I’ve never really been into coming of age stories. But this one? Fantastic. Give me more, more, more! It was a coming of age story that didn’t read like one. But it did. But it didn’t. It was sweet, innocent and also beautiful and amazingly hot. Angsty yet with a perfect flow. And it had an odd twist that you don’t see ve...

This YA first love story was quite a surprise

Spooning Leads to Forking by B.A. Smith
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
This was a surprise, not a bit what I thought it was going to be and actually quite an interesting take on that mad, crazy emotional headrush you get the first time you fall in love.
It’s a sex fest though, these guys are 17 and horny and at it all the time but it’s also realistic and quite brutally honest about finding your way from a passing friendship into a weekend long orgy for two!
There’s a kind of sense to t...

Libraries? What are those?
I went to the library for the first time in ages and it felt like a revelation! I’d forgotten you can also check out movies, music, video games, eReaders, and take classes there. All for free! They’ve come a long way since the card catalogs and Dewey decimal system back in my day!
I can’t remember the last time I read a real actual book (though I devour ebooks like Skittles). The Dragon Age video game series has been a HUGE life-changing inspiration for me, and I found the story’s prequel rig...

My Experience with Permanent Makeup
This post is a little different from the norm, but since I’m all about sharing experiences, I thought I’d share my latest venture into insanity!
Ever since high school, I’ve been wearing eyeliner and lip gloss religiously. I used to be 100% a tomboy, wore my brother’s hand-me-downs, and didn’t even own a dress until graduation (where it forever disappeared inside my closet forever afterward), but eyeliner was my only concession to femininity at the time. I wouldn’t step outside without it.
Fa...
