Dungeon of Chance: Even Odds now available!

Dungeon of Chance: Even Odds is now available!

US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MWQ11D8UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08MWQ11D... book was inspired by some of the mobile Gacha-type games that I like to occasionally play, where you need to collect "Heroes" that come from random drawings or summonings; in this case, the random Heroes are monsters and traps that the Dungeon Core can use in his dungeon!
There are stats, character progression, and other LitRPG/GameLit elements in this Dungeon Core story. In addition, there are some probability tables that are separated into footnotes, which can be perused at leisure or ignored completely; either way, they will not affect your enjoyment of the story!

__________________________In a world dictated by probabilities, Clay was an anomaly…Thousands of Heroes protect the land, defending against the periodic incursions by gigantic monsters known as World Threats. This was the way it had always been and Clay Shuntwise was perfectly fine with that. Running deliveries for his family’s shop in the sleepy town of Renton, the young teenager barely even thought about Heroes and their role in keeping the world safe. That was, at least, until the world came crashing down on him.Reborn into the brand-new and unfamiliar form of a Dungeon Core, Clay struggles through learning more about Heroes and the dungeons they delve through to get stronger. According to the guide that was trying to help him understand his new life, however, because he was a former Hero, Clay should already know most of what he needed to succeed; all of the finer parts regarding the relationship between Heroes and dungeons, including information about probabilities and drop rates, should be common knowledge. The problem? Despite wishing that he had been that lucky in his past life, Clay had never been a Hero…but now he might be forced to become one, though not quite in the way he ever expected. This book contains Dungeon Core, LitRPG, and GameLit elements including dungeon construction and defense, monster summoning, character progression, and a game-like interface. In addition, many of the probabilities the world is based upon are similar to Gacha-type mechanics. Contains no profanity, harems, or explicit sexual content.

The Dungeon Fairy: Two Choices now on audiobook!

ACX finally published The Dungeon Fairy: Two Choices!  This is the second book in my Hapless Dungeon Fairy series, and the third book (eBook, at least) will be out near the beginning of the new year.

US: https://www.audible.com/pd/B08LXQSK11

UK: https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/B08LXZ4X16

________________________________________

There are usually two types of luck, but only one seems to visit a certain Dungeon Core…

Being in charge of her own dungeon instead of just being an Assistant to a Dungeon Core was a unique experience for Tacca GloomLily, especially after her “bad luck” resulted in her soul being sucked into a Core.  Thankfully, she persevered through the strange experience and created a dungeon that she knew Raiders would say was suitable for “beginners”, otherwise known as brand-new Raider Clan recruits. After opening up her dungeon to the world, her entrance was finally located by two local Hill Dwarf farmers, who barely managed to survive their exploratory delve only through Tacca’s intervening actions. With them safely away and able to tell everyone about her dungeon’s presence, she now has to prepare for the flood of Raiders that she hopes will soon appear.

Along with Shale IronSchist, her own Dungeon Assistant, Tacca has to develop a way to maximize the few Core Improvement Points she is planning on receiving from the Raider’s presence in her dungeon, as well as what she gains from their deaths. Not only that, but she needs to start thinking towards the future; along with restocking and maintaining her original dungeon, she has to expand into a new section that can adapt to Raiders that grow too powerful to benefit from what she currently has to offer.

But not all is as calm outside of her dungeon as it seems. Locally, the two Hill Dwarves that first found her dungeon set up their village to accommodate the influx of new people; however, Raiders from the Clan aren’t the only ones to arrive: Merchants come looking to send their own people to the dungeon, bringing their own problems and dangers with them. Globally, Dungeon Cores that shouldn’t be destroyed are ending up shattered, and no one can seem to figure out why.

And just her luck, Tacca seems to be in the middle of it all…

This story contains Dungeon Core elements such as dungeon construction and defense, LitRPG/GameLit mechanics such as character progression and stats, and contains NO harems/sexual content or profanity.

Children of Fear now on audiobook!

Children of Fear, the 2nd book in my Spirit Core series, is now available on audiobook! Sarah L. Colton did another wonderful job narrating this story of Clive Logan, serial killer in Spirit Core form!

US: https://www.audible.com/pd/B08L717VVSUK: https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/B08L72BM7L

_______________________After successfully completing his objective inside the house in South Carolina, the transformed soul of serial killer Clive Logan was randomly transported to another location as his reward. Something about the new house he found himself in was quite different, however; whereas the Spirit Core had previously “haunted” a house filled with only adult targets, two children that apparently lived in the new location – a young boy and a slightly older girl – were thrown into the mix.As an emotionally absent serial killer, he didn’t care that they were children – he would kill them if that was his objective. Fortunately for them, Clive soon learned that instead of killing the two young kids, he needed to leave them alone because their innocent souls were essentially off-limits. At the same time, the FEAR-based attacks that had worked so well for the Spirit Core in South Carolina were practically useless against the parental protective instincts the two adults in the house possessed. This made them more fearful for their children than they were for themselves, negating the majority of the FEAR he would normally generate.Luckily, there was a solution for that. While harming or killing the children was forbidden, recruiting them to Clive’s side was not only allowed, but encouraged; if the attacks on their parents came from them instead of the Spirit Core, none of their protective instincts would kick in. A simple solution – but working alongside children was never something he had prior experience with, nor did he count himself as much of a team player. To succeed in his new objective, however, serial killer Clive Logan was going to have to rely on a couple of kids who liked dinosaurs, cars, and unicorns…Warning: No children are physically hurt in this book, though the ones integral to the story are affected in other (mental and emotional) ways. This is also the tale of a serial killer doing what serial killers do, so if you are opposed to either of these warnings, turn back now…Contains LitRPG/GameLit aspects such as statistics and leveling, as well as Dungeon Core elements

Carnival of Fear is now available!

Happy early Halloween!

Carnival of Fear, the 3rd book in my Spirit Core series, is now available on amazon and through Kindle Unlimited!  In addition, if you haven't read the first book in the series, Core of Fear, it is now FREE through Sunday, October 18th!

US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KPW54PX

UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08KPW54PX

If you're tired of the good guy winning all the time, then this is the series for you.  Join Clive Logan as he's executed for being an emotionless serial killer, only to be brought back to Earth from Hell as a Spirit Core.  Now, using his new insubstantial form, he is tasked with continuing his spree of murders by using his victims' fear to kill them.  Fun, right?

Don't take my word for it; check out these reviews from the first two books in the series:

"...If you enjoy, or at least don't mind, being witness to the psychological torture and death of innocents, this book may be for you..."

"...Not my kind of book where the hero is some sadistic murder with no redeeming qualities. He writes well and if this is your type of book I suppose it could be entertaining but not for me..."

"...Why would anyone think a story that glorifies scaring people to death is such a wonderful story line is beyond me..."

"...An interesting reversal of perspective on the typical haunted house story. I’ve always enjoyed stories/ games that have the perspective of the antagonistic “malevolent entity”, rare though such works may be..."

An unsuspecting carnival is about to get a dose of serial killer magic.

After two successful completed objectives, our not-so-friendly Spirit Core finds himself in an unexpected location.  Instead of “haunting” a house and killing the residents inside using their own fear against them, the intangible entity ends up arriving at his new objective floating above a traveling carnival, of all places.

Now, the reincarnated soul of emotionless serial killer, Clive Logan, must successfully kill at least some of the carnival’s visitors – but how?  Luckily, the Goddess of the Underworld has provided the Spirit Core with a variety of new mechanics suited to his new location; these mechanics will allow Clive to raise their FEAR Levels up to the point where they can be killed from fear alone.  Coupled with his minions, Preston and Brittany Miller – who are due to arrive any day – it should be a simple enough execution of his objective.

Unfortunately,

Dungeon World Books 1 – 5

Hand-drawn maps I used while writing the series

Bonus short story

In a world five times larger than Earth, dungeons and their Dungeon Cores have become the top of the food chain.

Millions of dungeons inhabit the planet, utilizing the Human people as a source of much-needed Mana to facilitate their own growth; in turn, the humans delve into the dungeons to acquire their own power in the form of Essence, which allows them to develop and enhance themselves in a multitude of different ways.  It is a symbiotic relationship that has lasted thousands of years and has brought about a measure of peace.

Far in the northern wilds where no Humans (and therefore – no dungeons) regularly frequent, a young man is left alone when his parents are suddenly murdered.  Now, without friends, family, supplies, or even much knowledge of the wider world, Fredwynklemossering embarks on a journey to discover who – or what – killed his parents.  Along the way, however, he learns more than he bargained for, including his seemingly impossible status as a Dungeon Core/Human hybrid.  With that knowledge comes a shift in his objective; revenge against those who wronged him turns out to pale in comparison to the dangers the Humans will face in the future.

Will Fred be able to successfully straddle the line between the Human and Dungeon Core worlds?  Unfortunately, he’ll have to, or else the entire Dungeon World may be doomed…

Contains 564,000 words, LitRPG/GameLit elements such as statistics and leveling, as well as dungeon construction and defense.  No harems and no profanity.
