Patsy Buell was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, to an Australian-born mother. She grew up in Minnesota, attended the University of Minnesota, and graduated with an MA in Educational Psychology. As an undergraduate, she met her husband and took her married name, Stierna.
She always wanted to be a writer but didn't achieve her dream until she retired from teaching special education for 36 years. Researching, writing, and editing Visions from Two Continents took 20 years. She had planned a second volume but ended up just revising the 2017 version. Her second book Getting Beyond...was also published in 2022. She now lives on two continents, dividing her time between Door County, Wisconsin in the USA, and Melbourne, Australia.

I just finished reading it. It was an amazing bit of writing. The characters are well developed and interesting- the situations realistic.
