Unprofessional Kydex

Through PayPal (my paypal address is phil@philelmore.com), I accept prepaid commissions to make amateur Kydex sheaths for knives and other weapons.  In rare cases I may have a knife available that matches yours.  In most cases you will need to ship me your knife.  In some circumstances we can work out an arrangement wherein I buy a knife that matches yours.  Contact me for shipping details and confirmation.

If you want a true artist's work rather than the hatchet job of an amateur like me, I urge you to go to Bob Humelbaugh.  He has never disappointed me and he will make you the best Kydex sheath you'll ever carry.

If you want me to muddle through it, though, I can do that.  Cost for a basic sheath is $25 USD, plus another $11 USD for a Tek-Lok (specify large or small) or 5 USD for an IWB belt loop (and plus Priority Shipping of 9.95 for shipping and insurance to return your knife and sheath to you).  We can work out your exact total and details through e-mail.

Payment must be made before work can commence.  Turnaround times vary depending on the complexity of the commission.  Different colors of Kydex can be special-ordered, but you'll need to pay for the materials.

Some examples of my work:

Technocracy: Target Rush’s Cowardly Advertisers

My WND Technocracy column this week addresses the silly controversy over Limbaugh calling a Democrat operative a “slut.”

Are we, as conservatives, simply lazy? Do we lack courage? Or will we agitate in support of our icons?

Sandra Fluke’s name has become a punchline and liberal news outlets are gleefully reporting the imminent doom of Limbaugh’s radio show… but this is not now, nor has it ever been a free speech issue.  It’s about exerting political pressure on advertisers and employers who are fundamentally cowardly in their desire to make money and avoid negative press.

Technocracy: ‘Cyberstalking’ and Bedwetting Pansies

My WND Technocracy column this week was inspired by the story of a Canadian man who was arrested and strip-searched because his child drew a picture of a firearm.

“Weakness of attitude,” said Einstein, “becomes weakness of character.”

The gun was a toy the family kept at home, but because the drawing made emotionally weak Canadian teachers feel uneasy, a crime had been committed as far as the authorities were concerned.  After the man was released, those who had mistreated him felt no remorse for their actions.  This is how sad and politically correct Canada has become… and we are not far behind them.

When I read a follow-up story about a fellow whose “cyberstalking” has been ruled protected free speech by a federal judge, I knew I couldn’t leave the topic be for another week.  Read the full column here in WND.

Technocracy — Initiated Force: Liberals’ Tool of Control

My WND Technocracy column this week is about the political Left’s penchant for violence.

What better symbol is there for liberal violence than the “Occupy” movement, endorsed by President Obama and plagued by rape, disease, defecation and vile threats of assault and murder?

As the old saying goes, if a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.  If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he tries to ban them.  The same is true for countless other categories of human endeavor, from actions to inanimate objects.  The common theme uniting them all is that leftists want to control ever waking moment of your life while laying claim to every moment of your time and ever cent of your earnings.  They will gladly force you to comply.

Technocracy: 300 Million Government Slaves?

My WND Technocracy column this week is about the uproar over President Obama presuming to order American citizens (or American corporations) to provide certain services free of charge.  (I'm still not sure when contraception and abortion became human rights.)

If you are anything but your own property, you belong to someone else, which makes you that someone's slave.

The topic led me to reiterate some core ideas drawn from Objectivism, libertarian thought, and Aristotle's philosophy.  Specifically:  Your nature as a sovereign individual precludes any attempt by others to live your life for you.  To make the attempt is to enslave you.

I want to stress that the ideas contained in this article are not original to me.  I have been profoundly influenced by the philosophers I mentioned, as well as several authors who have written commentary on those philosophers' works.  No plagiarism is intended, but the fact is, I didn't reinvent these wheels.  I simply spoke from clear memory on what I learned from these intellectual greats.

Technocracy: Eric Holder's Lies About Gun Shows

My WND Technocracy column this week is about Eric Holder, the racist Attorney General who declined to prosecute a pair of armed Black Panthers who were trying to intimidate white voters.

The average "Occupy" encampment generates more crime and violence in a weekend than the attendees of a gun show will commit over the course of their entire lives.

For as long as I can remember, libs have been lying about gun shows and the people who attend them, most often by sending wide-eyed reporters to go "undercover" at such shows and squeak in terror at the engines of destruction on sale therein.  Holder takes this several steps farther by claiming, in his capacity as Attorney General, that he has knowledge of THOUSANDS of illegal gun shows sales — that he has apparently seen fit not to pursue as prosecutions despite knowing about them.

Technocracy: The Chinese Are Not Our Friends… Yet

Should you feel guilty about buying an iPhone because of the deplorable working conditions in the Chinese factories where these (and many other electronic devices) are made?  The stance I take in this week's Technocracy may surprise you, given that I've written more than once about the threat Communist China represents to the Western world.

The debate seems to be over whether we should pause to feel bad before going back to Angry Birds or Facebook or streaming video or the occasional e-book.
