Not WWW#6

EDIT: WWW#6 but it’s too late to change the graphic ;P oops I guess I can’t count.

So… I’ve been kind of terrible at putting out WWW, obviously. I refuse to give up, however I do acknowledge that I need a break. School this year is a lot harder than last year, and I’ve started to actually use my study halls for studying. (Except for right now because I forgot my Chromebook and can’t research for history so…)

Anyways, I’m telling you all this because I’m taking a mini hiatus from my blog, which I’ve never done. Today will be my last WWW and update (excluding NaNoWriMo updates) until I’ve caught up on my grades and Cross Country ends. During November I’ll be focusing on my NaNo project, which is either the second book in the Tales of Atlantia or a secret project. I’m not sure yet.

I’ll also be taking a break from Goodreads, which I did last year because of school. I’ll be posting on there about my break as well.

Asor your writing prompt, here’s a cheasy one that makes me smile:

I’ll see you again briefly during NaNo, but for now, goodbye!

WWW #5

For our fifth writing prompt, I have a fairy tale based one because I’ve been thinking about The Fairy Tale Chronicles lately.

Fairytale Kingdom

If anyone writes this I’d love to hear about it! The idea of a cloud city has always fascinated me- but I don’t need more story ideas right now!

WWW#4

This is a little late because my school decided blocking WordPress (it’s ‘social media’) was a good idea and now I can’t access on my Chromebook. My laptop, the one I’ve blogged on for years, is dying and won’t last much longer, so I’m typing this on my phone while I try and get the school to unblock WordPress.

Anyways, I promise I’ll fix this all soon.

WWW Prompt #2

I was scrolling through old blog posts and realized that a LONG time ago I though it would be cool to start posting a prompt that I really liked every Wednesday. Obviously that didn’t go well. So I’m trying again! This time I’m also putting reminders all over my phone so I remember.

Alpha Readers (Evie’s Empire)

Celebrate with me- I just finished the second draft of Evie’s Empire! I’m really excited for this series, but I still have a lot of editing to do before I’m ready to release it. I’m now ready for my next step: Alpha Readers. (Sign up HERE– or keep reading for more information)

I’m looking for some people who are willing to share their opinion on my newest work- and be VERY honest. I’ll have a few questions, but other than that I pretty much just want general opinion. And of course- if any grammar mistakes are found I’d love to be told.

Plus, Alpha Readers can receive a free e-book copy of Evie’s Empire after the release! (No review required either- :P)

Evie’s Empire is just above 50K and is a fantasy novel set in a country called Atlantia. It is the first book in the Tales of Atlantia series.

Somehow, Evelyn Cort has made it to her eighteenth birthday without any life-changing events. However, just before she finally passes into adulthood her grandfather turns her life upside down and, quite literally, brings her to a whole new world. Continent: Atlantia. Country: Cort Empire. Evie is heir to something much larger than she could have ever imagined, but someone is trying to take her birthright. A country that she knows nothing about is in her hands, and she has a choice. Defend her birthright or do the easy thing and remain as she is?

Sign ups are HERE and there will be more information coming soon!

Other than the major editing I’ve just been enjoying my last few days before school starts again! Plus I’ve been writing some in a new project that I’m calling PR. I’m really excited about that, but unfortunately I can’t tell you anything until I have a better idea of where I’m headed. I’m also writing Tales of Atlantia #2… so look for that!

The Divided Nation: Review

The Divided Nation, Infidel books #1: Angela R. Watts

AHHHH! This was such a good book I can’t even begin to tell you all of the amazing things! It is defiantly NOT for the faint of heart though. It’s dystopian, slightly different from my usual historical fiction although I do visit it once in a while. I’ll dive farther into the book itself in my review but I cannot express how much I loved this! (also an awesome giveaway??)

Five stars

Prose: 5/5

Romance: 5/5

Characters: 5/5

Plot: 5/5

Prose:

REALLY good. Comparable to some of the best authors I’ve read, and it really fit the genre too. Angela really transferred between the multiple characters well.

Romance:

I WANT MORE OF RENE AND SIMON (next book please???)

Characters:

SO there were a lot of them! At first I couldn’t really keep track of everyone, but after a while I got the hang of it. I want everyone to have a happy ending but I know that isn’t realistic and they won’t necessarily all be happy/alive in the end. But…. I can hope? And some of them had such an amazing faith that carried them through and I just… wow.

Plot:

OH MY GOSHHHH so much going on! I loved this aspect. I didn’t entirely understand some parts but I think the next book is going to continue the story line and I can’t wait! Also though kinda scary because this really doesn’t take place that far in the future. I really liked how it was a sort of warning.

Overall:

A really good book! I want the next one now, and I can’t wait until it comes out! I loved all the characters and Angela portrayed some of the trickier elements really well.

Content:

Okay so here is where the book is tricky to review, and a little scary. There’s a lot of mentions of shooting/killing/people dying, usual warfare. Some assassinations. Mentions of girls being raped (does not happen on-screen, treated as wrong) Some mentions of how sexual assault is considered ‘okay’ even though all main characters don’t think it’s good. Mentions of drinking/getting drunk (treated as wrong)

WHEN THE NATION DIVIDES, THE INFIDELS MUST RISE.

Blurb

The United States has fallen. Three years after the 2024 presidential election and the declaration of martial law, the nation is at war against itself. Gangs battle, civilians struggle for survival, and officials of the United Nations  thrive. West Johnston, heir to the most powerful ganglord in the country, refuses to continue the family legacy. But, in order to defeat his father, he must become him: bloodthirsty and willing to do whatever it takes for control.

West gains control by helping fellow gangsters, Nate and Simon, when they form an alliance with one of the last remaining townships in America. After years of surviving and winter fast approaching, Springtown is in desperate need of supplies from the two teenagers. When the town leader’s daughter, Rene’, is kidnapped by an unknown rival, Nate and Simon risk their reputations to save her and the town they now love. But without help from West, their rescue mission will fail.

Told in multiple bold, abrasive narratives, THE DIVIDED NATION steps into a future where brotherhood bonds must be stronger than iron to survive a broken world, and faith without courage is dust in the wind.
