I finished!

I finished A Princess at Heart! You know what that means? I’m done with The Fairy Tale Chronicles! (I do have an idea for a prequel, but that won’t be for a while and probably won’t be published)

So, for now, I’ll be editing APH. You can sign up for beta/alpha reading here:https://goo.gl/forms/VbpOCRZEOsJJt4c32

I began this April 23rd, 2018 with 23,837 words, after getting the idea on chapter 2 of The Lost Princess. And I’ve now finished at 30,755 words, and the perfect ending.

It will release August 9th (I chose that day because it’s the last Fairy Tale Chronicles book, and that’s a special day for me) The Princess Ambassador will be released June 10th and I will be doing a blog tour with a few other authors I met on Goodreads. (formal announcement and sign-ups coming soon)

SO I’m super excited but it’s kind of awkward right now because I’m not really writing anything and for the past half-a-year I’ve been working on The Fairy Tale Chronicles. But I’ll get over that soon since I’ll be editing and I’m starting to world-build for a new story… can’t tell you anything yet!

Let’s talk about the characters featured in The Lost Princess. There’s a lot of them, but we’ll just cover the main characters today.

Princess Ivory Villn: Ivory may be titled a princess, but she certainly doesn’t live the life of one. She lives in the White Kingdom as a peasant, hiding from her mother.

Prince Ethan Villn: Locked in the dungeon by his own mother, Prince Ethan hopes to get out, find his sister and fix everything his mother has done.

Cilla Starling: Nineteen years old and full of spunk, Cilla works as a servant for Queen Villn, although unwilling.

Mason Wren: Cilla’s childhood friend and the Queen’s Captain of the Guard, Mason seems like a loyal guard, but is he really?

Celeste Nightingale: All Celeste has ever known is the tower she’s been locked in her whole life, and her cat. She lives peacefully under ‘Madam’ and shows no inclination to leave, at least, at first.

Queen Villn: The misunderstood Queen of Kappaka wasn’t entirely at fault with her choices, but will she ever tell anyone who is?

And that’s everyone! (well, not everyone. I didn’t even get into the White siblings.) If you want to know more about anyone, just contact me or comment on this post.

And I can’t forget about the giveaway!

A last-minute addition to the giveaway is a paperback copy of The Lost Princess. (It isn’t mentioned in the graphics, because it was so late) Up until now, I thought I was not able to do a paperback, but it turns out I can.

Hope you enjoy the blog tour! The final day, (tomorrow!) May 10th, The Lost Princess will be available on Amazon.

Today I’m going to tell you about The Lost Princess’s inspiration!

I took inspiration from a lot of places, books, pictures, websites, real-life events, etc. I have always loved fairy tale books with a twist (namely The Lunar Chronicles and Ella Enchanted), so that’s what got me started right away. The Lunar Chronicles had a big influence on my ideas and character choices.

Gracelyn (although she wasn’t directly an inspiration) always helped me when I was stuck on something and gave me some pretty good ideas.

My other inspiration was Pinterest (I spent way too much time on there (‘: oops, haha!) But it really DID help me.

Goodreads, my blog, and Wattpad were more examples of things that helped give me ideas, and the Year long Nano group on Goodreads was great for my second book, I just wish I had it for The Lost Princess!

And of course, the giveaway! (the most important part- right?)

E-book covers

I’m a beginner graphic designer and design all my own covers. (for e-books, wattpad, etc)

I really enjoy doing it, although I first did it out of necessity, and have a Wattpad book with all the covers I’ve designed. Some of them I did for fun- and you can use them! (for an e-book or wattpad book, I currently don’t do spines, although I WILL do a back cover to match the front!)

Enjoy the covers!

So today I’ll share a little bit about how The Lost Princess came about and my writing journey.

It all started a few days into the fall of 2017. I was in my creative writing class in downtown Asheville, NC. My teacher (big thanks to her!) put up a couple pictures on the TV and told us to choose one and write about it for a while.

I chose one:

But never quite thought I’d like the story so much. I decided to write a Rapunzel-ish story since I’d always wanted to write a fairy-tale-twist. I started with a character named Celeste, (why I don’t remember) and gave her long hair, and an evil mother. I was going to make it all about Celeste, but then her rescuers came along, and I liked them more than her, so I wrote about them. After I was a few chapters in, I knew what I was doing and semi plotted out the whole story. (Although the ending was a surprise to even me)

So that’s how my story started! Tomorrow you’ll get a surprise post because I don’t know what I’m going to write yet.

And of course, the giveaway!

AND a last minute addition to the giveaway is a PAPERBACK copy of The Lost Princess. Up until now, I thought I was not able to do a paperback, but it turns out I can.

Hope you enjoy the blog tour! The final day, May 10th, The Lost Princess will be available on Amazon.

I had a busy, long day today so my post is going to be short (again) but I hope I can make it up to you by doing an actual post tomorrow and tonight I will share some special little experts from The Lost Princess! (chapters 1, 2, and 3)

Cilla’s eyes flashed. She slammed the basket of rolls down on the table and stepped up on the empty chair at the end of the table. The rolls flew everywhere. From there she leaped up onto the end of the table.

“Cilla! Get down from the table!” The Queen rose from her seat.

Lord Rush sat down with a thud of surprise.

The guests and servants gazed back and forth between the Queen and Cilla.

“Ivory?” Jacob stood, ever so slowly, and Dove saw a white cloak flutter in the breeze.

She gasped. Many years ago, when Dove was six years old, Queen Villn came to the White Kingdom for a visit after her husband died. Dove didn’t remember any of it, but she had heard the story many times. While the Queen was visiting her daughter Princess Ivory ran away during the night and was never found. Most people thought her dead, although the Queen refused to give up hope.

“It’s safe. You can come out. It’s just me, I promise.” Jacob leaned towards the woods, and the white cloak came forward a few steps. “I’ve been wanting to see you for days, but Father kept me busy and I couldn’t escape unnoticed.” He said.

Cilla frowned. “Can we leave the cat?” She attempted to strap the cat in a basket, but Juniper hissed and scratched.

“We can’t just leave her!” Celeste gave Juniper a bit of fish and Juniper calmed down enough for Cilla to lower her to Astrid and Mercy.

“Fine, but if she scratches me again….” Cilla lowered the cat, and then glanced out at the sea. Madam was approaching the island, but there was another boat, this one red, also approaching. The red one held two men, both rowing, and reached the island in a matter of seconds.

And I can’t forget about the giveaway!

AND an addition to the giveaway is a PAPERBACK copy of The Lost Princess. Up until now, I thought I was not able to do a paperback, but it turns out I can.
