Day 4,343: Cheep
We have Tommen boy in the house, halleloo! He’s hurt his leg already, however. Or, he hurt it before he got here and now he’s limping on it. Sigh. It’s been an issue for him for the past few months due to an injury jumping up onto his bed. Tweaked his knee, I think. It’s been stubborn healing. But, we got him on some meds and we have systems in place to make sure there’s no jumping while he’s with us. Poor bubs. He’s nice and medicated now, though. Suuuuuper sleepy. Which means happy.
Waiting...

Day 4,342: Back Baby!
Epic naps are my jam. They REVIVE ME. I know the science says don’t nap for too long. It’s true most of the time…but when you’re exhausted far more than normal, maaaannn…an epic nap can bring you back. It did for me today. I slept for an hour and a half I think and I could feel my brain working better when I got up. Like, I wanted to get out into my office and DO things. So I did. And then storm clouds rolled in, it got windy, and we took the pups for an early walk.
It was muggy AF today. Dis...

Day 4,341: Quality
I am wiiiiiped out so making this a quick one.
Great visit. Work was actually pretty busy. Wow I am so bushwhacked from the weekend, lol. Pups are great. Bear is great. It was hot.
Night night 🙂

Day 4,340: Moonday
Getting up in the middle of the night for Cooper’s eyedrops has shredded my sleep time, ha. I’ve been suuuuper tired. I mean, big weekend, too. But really taken it out of me. I said it before when we had to take Joy out several times in the night to pee when she was a puppy: respect to parents. That shit is not easy. Whew! But, the Coops continues to improve, I think? Verrrry slowly, but improving. Or, at least, he’s not getting worse. His eye still looks like murder, it’s criss-crossed with a b...

Day 4,339: Brunch
The dogs are piled on top of me right now. So much so, I can’t write my blog entry on my iPad. Joy is snuggled up too high into my lap. There’s no room. So, iPhone it is.
You know, I thought I was going to upgrade my phone this cycle. I really did. It felt like time, my battery is getting weaker, it wasn’t charging from the lightning port, and it’s been…five years, I think? Something like that. Easily the longest I’ve ever had an iPhone. But after watching the reveal and then reading about ho...
Day 4,338: Tron’d
Well, we did it. The backyard birthday bash was a big success. Turnout was about 30, I think? We had enough food. We had enough popcorn, candy and drinks. Enough wine. The music was bumping. The movie was great. And the weather was perfect. Like, gorgeously perfect. Very, very, very happy. I got to share my house with all my favorite people, and that made my birthday for me.
Wiped. Out. So tired. Gonna sleep now. Night night.

Day 4,337: Imperial
Had the most delicious wine with dinner tonight. We did tacos from Leo’s and I popped open my remaining bottle of Imperial rioja. So…the first bottle of it I had gobsmacked me with how good it was. One of my favorite bottles I’ve ever had, actually. Exploding with flavor. Rich, but not cloying. Great acidity and all the earthy flavors that I love so much. So, I went and bought two more bottles of it because I loved it so much. …And then that second bottle was meh. And I was like, crap, did I rem...

Day 4,336: Fam
Got them floors finished. The last few spots weren’t probably done quite as intensely as the others, but good enough for me. It was time to return the Bissell that I’d borrowed, and I have the floors in a place that I am genuinely happy with. They. Look. Amazing. It’s the miracle of real wood, I think, even if it is just a thin top layer: it can be properly cleaned. Restored to its pristine state. It’s amazing how resilient wood is, really. It’ll last almost forever if you treat it right, and th...

Day 4,335: Getting there
I’m getting there.
The floors are finally almost done. Who knew it would take a fracking WEEK to do them? Not I. I figured a few days. Yikes. But, BUT…they are spectacular. Like new. So clean. So. Clean. They feel like magic on your feet.
And the backyard. It’s…so…nice. Soon, the front yard will match. Tomorrow, I put down the weed barrier that will mean, finally, after FOUR YEARS of fighting them, there will be no more weeds. My god, what a time to be alive.
Our house is feeling really...

Day 4,334: Progress!
A banner day.
The fifth Glory book is off to our beta/alpha readers for a final look-through. The front and backyards are cleared of all detritus, and Coops is on the mend! I got a lot of Netflix work done today, too, amidst all that.
I am wiped, though. Got up at 5am to give Cooper his meds—he needs three of his eyedrops every four hours, so that means getting up at some pretty random times. Le sigh. BUT…it appears to be working. He’s perked up, for sure, and just tonight he wasn’t squint...
