Day 4,150: Lando

What is my middle name, and what significance does it hold?

My middle name is Edward. I was named after my great grandfather. Never met him. My mom’s grandpa, and I think someone she was very close to. A rare positive male figure in her childhood, I think. I got his full name, so Edward was his middle name, I do believe. I wish I’d known him, known the man whose name I was given.

———

I took the BEST nap today. Door was open. The sun was out. Birds were singing. The breeze was breezin. I...

Day 4,149: Friendsy

Late night of podcasting. And a long workday, actually. Started at 7am and ran right through to going over to Josh’s. But a job well done I think. I hope.

Night night. Up in the morning for some Wrexham 🙂

Day 4,148: Brrrr

What is a question I hate to be asked? Explain.

“Are you free right now?” or any other of the many permutations of that question.

Why? Because it gives no context. What I am “free” for at any given time is a very limited list. Tell me why first. My immediate reaction to any type of ask for my time or attention that doesn’t include any specifics is to ask back “Why? What’s up?” rather than answer. Or, I guess there are two other option I use: “No, I’m not free” or I just don’t answer. Just ...

Day 4,147: Home Is For Winners

It’s late! Gonna make this a quick one and then starting tomorrow, get back on the train of answering those daily prompt questions, just to keep it fresh on here.

I was tired today. Partied too hard with Obama last night (see yesterday’s post). But also just still decompressing from our trip.

I’m back at it tomorrow. Up on time. Gonna get a few scenes done. Looking forward to it.

Alone is great. This season of the Australian one is wild. It’s so hard for them to find food. Probably too ...

Day 4,146: Obama Anajak

Probably my biggest “celebrity” sighting/encounter/whatever tonight. Our friends Stephan and Thida have wanted to go to Anajak Thai with us ever since we went there a few months ago with Liz’s dad and raved about it. Well, today they needed a place to hang while their house got fumigated, so it was the perfect opportunity.

Obama was eating there tonight. Same time as us. He was inside at the last table back towards the kitchen (and the bathroom, which is why I walked past him), we were sittin...

Day 4,145: Babes

One of my favorite things about the nighttime routine I go through is how calm, sleepy, and snuggly the dogs get once all of their needs have been met. We go pee, they get treats and, in Cooper’s case meds, and then once I’ve finished brushing my teeth and whatnot, we all settle into bed. They’re so happy once we do that. I can tell in how relaxed they are, how their eyes droop off to sleep so quickly. A dog who’s calm enough to fall asleep is a dog who is happy.

It was a meh day today. Not ...

Day 4,144: The Wolfpack

Watched a really interesting episode of Nova today in which they detailed the Key Bridge disaster from last year where the container ship hit and collapsed it with seven construction workers on it at the time, six of whom died. Intense stuff. And fascinating.

They’re pretty sure the container ship lost power because of a loose cable—a circuit the ship hadn’t actually used in months, but their primary circuit had been having issues as well—and the system being set to manual so it never switche...

Day 4,143: Coopey In…The…Dark

A busy busy Saturday oh my. We had brunch with Kerry’s mom and dad, plus Krys and her two kids. Then we went to the park and played around. Then we went to a movie, A Sloth Story, which was very sweet, and then back home again. A whirlwind of a day.

I’m wiped, lol. Hanging out with kids is exhausting. I do love doing it, but it wipes you out. Parents, you always had my respect, but it is always a reminder just spending a day or two with kids how much work they are. We genuinely don’t give pro...

Day 4,142: Litter

Got to meet Kerry’s main squeeze today and her two kids. We went to Dave & Busters which, man, I haven’t been to since I think…Liz’s thirtieth birthday??? Crazy. It’s a fun place, for sure. I was good at MarioKart and the one where you throw balls at video plates to break them. Liz was great at Plinko. She got the big bonus there which earned us 1000 tickets. That was enough…to donate to the kids’ fund and get them a couple cool toys. Wholesome fun had by all.

Work was pretty chill today, whi...

Day 4,141: Sphere

A busy day! It’s super duper late, so a super quick one tonight, but my favorite thing of the day was driving with Liz. Love you, bear.

Night night.
