Day 1,956: Day Too
Day two of Ira’s mind-explosion tour 2019.
The Story Grid Editor Certification Training continues. I’m loving every minute of it, except for being away from Liz and the pups. And no, that’s not because I know she’ll read that (hi, Bear

Day 1,945: En Media Res
Day one of the Story Grid Editor Certification training…and I am all-in.
It’s amazing. A system by which to help a story be the best it can be. It’s not fuzzy. It’s not about intuition or interpretation…all that stuff is left in the realm of artistic license where it belongs. No, the Story Grid is about using the fundamental structures of storytelling to diagnose and fix story problems.
I’m so excited to learn more.
It’s time for me to sleep, but last thought: you should give a listen to Josh...

Day 1,944: Nash to the Ville
I have to make this one quick tonight because I need to hit the hay…but I’m in Nashville. First time ever! Well, really outside of Nashville in a suburb called Franklin…but I am here in the land of Whisky and Guitars.
I’m here to become a Certified Story Grid Editor. I’m so excited.
Podcast is done. My homework is done. Travel completed…I am exhausted.
I’ll have more to report tomorrow.
Night!

Day 1,943: Tentin Quarantino
Podcasting is kinda the sh*t, y’all. It’s so fun. I honestly recommend it for everyone. Who cares if anyone listens. You get the benefit of recording it…good discussions about things that you love. That’s just good medicine, ya know?
It’s crazy…I’ve been podcasting for 10 years. It’ll be 10 years this year. It all started with Fresh Produce, which was a music podcast I did weekly covering the underground dance music’s new releases. What a job it was putting that show together. I was so happy...

Day 1,942: Week’s End
Have to make this one quick because it’s 1am, but twas a solid day.
Finished *another* book and read through some reviews. Gold. Mines. All of them. Holy crap.
Anywho, more tomorrow. ‘Castin with J. Then hanging with T-Rex and Hupunch.

Day 1,940: Has To Be Quick
This one has to be quick again (?) tonight.
The Ho and I were up late working on pilot season stuff. She’s killin it right now. So proud of her.
I had a good day of “writing” – meaning reading. Almost finished with the third book in my research bonanza. Leaning SO MUCH from reading these books. It’s also making me feel like I can do this.
I can do this.
It’s not rocket science. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Just good enough.
Netflix work was good, too. That’s wrapping up now. I have two days...

Day 1,939: A Mini Groove
I’m in a mini-groove. Praise be.
I’m learning *so* *much* from reading these books and then scouring through their reviews. So. Much.
Work is starting to enter the last push at the Flix. I leave next week for Nashville to learn me some Story Grid…
Life is good. Ahhhh.
Life is good.
I do have to end this swiftly here. I’m already shy of 8 hours of sleep, which I’ve been the past couple nights, so yeah. I need those 8 hours. I was tired today.
So, I wish you good night, and I’m going to try to...

Day 1,938: Flow State
Flow state is the best thing in the world. It doesn’t matter what the activity is. That feeling of just reacting, not thinking, just doing…it’s heaven. It’s like…floating…but also being a badass master. Ya know?
I’ve had that whilst writing. It was a while ago. But I’ve had it. I had it tonight playing Beat Saber, which just makes me giggle to say, but it’s true. That game is freaking flow state. That’s why I love it. Not because it’s hard (it is), or because the music is fun (it is), or even...
