Day 2,581: Security

Black Friday deals have struck.

I can’t help but think about the very distinct possibility that Los Angeles is heading for another full shutdown, and holiday shopping is right around the corner…which would all but shut it down, apparently for three weeks.

What crazy times we’re living in. And, no, not because it crazy on the face of it that we wouldn’t be able to SHOP…no, I mean that as economically driven as a country we are, that things have gotten so bad with a health crisis that we’d a...

Day 2,580: Not

Not getting what you want…

Damn, if that isn’t a life skill. Disappointment is hard to swallow.

I’m thinking about that tonight not because I actually had to face it today, but rather because I’m bracing for it later down the road. For the panda project, we might not be able to quite get exactly what we want, and the logical side of me is like “it’s fine, let it go, adjust,” and the emotional side of me is like “but, I want what I want!”

Busy weekend. Hurt my finger, poor little guy. Li...

The big project continues!

It involved manual labor today, which I am NOT used to

Day 2,578: Madness

What a year 2020 has been. And it’s not over yet! But we’re close. Close to finishing one of the craziest most head-spinning years of my life. Close enough at least to starting thinking about it and reflecting.

Podcasted tonight. Learned a lot. We watched a great movie. I’ve learned so much from doing that podcast these last two years. So. Much. And man do we have some films to look forward to as well. The top of the list is looming. Crazy.

It’s late, obviously, because of podcasting so I’...

Day 2,577: Normalcy

Working towards normalcy.

Finally getting caught up with work. Finally getting a little ahead with work. I can take a breath. Finally.

Played music tonight. I played for like an hour and a half, and I could have probably played for another hour or two. I miss it so much. I have built up SO MUCH music over the past two+ months of not playing at all. I still listen to tracks while I work and stash them away for playing on the DJ controller. So, they’ve all built up. It’s kinda awesome

Day 2,576: Oh So Late

Some of these podcasting nights, I tell you…they run late. Particularly when work is busy so I can’t meet up with Josh until well after 5, we then have super amazing discussion before even starting to record, AND it’s a long-ass movie…

Recipe right there for an amazing, late night. Like tonight. Ending this year in style.

There are A LOT of long-ass movies on the AFI’s list, man. So many of 3+ hours or more. Some of them should be that long. Most of them shouldn’t. Tonight’s movie deserved...

Day 2,575: I Can’t Find My Shoes

I love doing detail work on a scene.

It’s already working. The big pieces are there, the hard work is done, and all that’s left is the details. I get to add in all the little things that make the scene really stand out and become real, the things that stick in my mind as I’m writing it.

Got to do a little bit of that before bed. Quite a haunting scene, really. There some horrifying things happening, and I found a couple little details to add that made it feel realistic. Hopefully the reade...

Day 2,574: Seventy Five Golden Camels

Good lord, another very, very, veeerrryyyyy llooooonnngggg day.

First part of the day was spend working on the big project, which was stressful today; conflicting information to be sorted out.

Second part of the day, which went all the way up to right now, was spent on work, which continues to be insanely busy. I think I’ve worked somewhere close to 60 hours each of the past four weeks, save for last week when I had a couple extra days off for some important stuff.

That’s…burnout territ...

Day 2,573: Ze LATE

Going to bed LATE on a Sunday.

Never my preference, but it was worth it. I have all my videos for this week of work rendering now in my sleep. Whew. Will save me a lot of time and heartache to have them done and out of the way.

Now…sleep.
