Nice writing! My favorite parts of MacFarlane’s shows aren’t the shit and puke jokes, but the political satire. He really nails it about 60 percent of the time. Maybe even 70 percent. And that’s hard to pull off while still playing to the ratings. Kudos, Seth!

Great read! It’s ironic that Jeff Sessions spent last week accusing colleges of suppressing free speech, when the president was doing exactly that. Our job as teachers is to foster debate. When I look at the current climate, people dismissing counter-evidence as “fake news,” and promoting their own “alternative facts,” then I know our job’s more important than ever.

You nailed it. I’m a perfectionist, and everything is a constant struggle. Sure, it pushes us to excel. The good thing is I can force myself to finish projects. But you’re right, there’s a downside that we have to manage. In the end, there are worse things. :D
