Why I write (and read) Christian Fiction.

Stories By Gina

Recently I read a blog post by a young woman called, Why I don’t read Christian Fiction. I did agree with some of her points, but some I didn’t.

Why do I write Christian Fiction?

Writing Christian fiction gives me a way to fulfill the Great Commission. In Acts 1:8 and Mark 16:15 (and other scriptures) Jesus commands the church to preach the gospel to every creature, teaching them to observe all things… you know the rest.  However I have a hard time speaking to people. I can’t...

Chesapeake Valor Series Book Review

Chesapeake Valor Series Book Review by Author Dani Pettrey

This weekend I read both Cold Shot and Blind Spot, books 1 and 3 of the Chesapeake Valor series. Why didn’t I read book 2? Well, I read that early last year, unaware at the time that it was in the middle of a series. It appears that I did not review the book when I first read it, so I am including it now. And since book 4 is set to release this July, I am doing a review about the whole amazing series!

My Thoughts: If you love Christia...

Holder Family Christmas Letter

Dear Family and Friends

In lieu of Christmas cards, this year I have decided to fully embrace the modern era and post a Christmas letter to my blog. This year has had ups and downs and many new adventures for the Holder family. Just before Christmas of 2016, we signed a contract to sell our home in Colorado and after seven years, began a new adventure in Kentucky. The process went smooth until the last few weeks when we had trouble getting the appraisal and the closing date had to be moved t...

Four Star Review of Jesus, Mommy, and Me

Four Star Review of Jesus, Mommy, and Me Devotional book intended for 4-8-year old’s [image error]My Thoughts:

This book of 30 devotionals was cute and sweet. Each day, Marianna gives a topic, a scripture reference, something to read, a conversation starter, and an ending prayer. My daughter, although 10-years-old, loved going through the book. The lesson on “blessing” made the most impact on me and my daughter. Amidst homeschooling and character training (fighting their flesh) it’s easy for me to forge...
