Thankful For Books Reading Challenge-Day 12 (11/16)

Our theme for #tfbrc today is #firstbook. I’m sharing with you the first Christian Fiction books I ever read, all loaned to me by my friend Melissa Donnelly when I was about 11 or 12 years old.

The first series was The Mandie Mysteries. I read all the ones written at that time. These books are great for introducing pre-teens to the world of Christian books, as long as they are mature enough to not be frightened by the mystery elements.

This is actually book 2, I am still missing book 1 fro...

On whom are you leaning today?
It can be hard sometimes to lean on the Lord when we don’t understand why he’s doing what...

I suppose you have a new wardrobe ordered from Paris, oui?”
I glanced at the girl sitting across from me in my carriage as we drove up the street toward Brittle Brattle Books, wondering for the life of me, how I’d come to the point of being so terribly desperate for company.
Uh, oh, I...

The theme is #life-changing. This theme was difficult for me because I didn’t really think of fiction stories changing my life or altering my life. Do I enjoy them? Absolutely! Do they change my point of view? At times. Do they leave an impression on my heart that I cherish for years? Yes!
I guess in that sense there are many book that have been life-changing for me.

This first book really did change my life. I’m talking about, of course, the Bible-God’s living word. There was no way that I...

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5 KJV
Last Saturday, when I was working on my next novel, I wrote the phrase, “dress down.” I opened up my digital thesaurus to verify that this phrase did mean what I was thinking it meant.
It did. It means to scold.
As I was...
