Why I don’t like most certificate programs, and what I recommend instead...

I know I’ll get some flack for this post, but I believe it’s important to say this:

In many fields (maybe yours) certifications are an unnecessary cost.

The exceptions are psychotherapy, allopathic medicine, law, and a few other fields where one is legally required to be licensed.

In most other fields of transformation, coaching, and healing, a license is not required. There are alternative ways to spend your precious time, energy and money to reach success.

Let’s explore one path that I’d recom...

5 Motivational Methods to Help You Overcome Procrastination and Get Focused

PictureOftentimes, it’s not enough to have a goal.

If the goal is challenging (the most worthwhile goals are), you will need motivational methods that are effective for you personally, methods that help you focus no matter how "hard" the task feels.

Below, I describe the methods that have worked best for me and my clients.

As you read this post, I invite you to score each method on a scale of 0 to 10. Zero means “For sure this won’t work for me” and 10 means “This is, or will be, game-changing for my...

Create your own disciplined rhythm of Content Creation

Most successful content creators have some rhythm or schedule for creating & sharing content.

What about you? What is the discipline of content that you've committed to?

May this blog post encourage you and give you some guidance to create a consistent rhythm of content creation... One of the heroes of content is Seth Godin, who has consistently blogged every day for more than 10 years. If you look at his amazing archive of posts, it took 2 years of consistent blogging (2002-2004) before his po...

Quick and Easy Money?

So many people are seeking quick and easy money.

Why?

Often, it’s because they are tired with life and work. “If I could only solve this problem of money, then I can really have the freedom to live life on my terms.”

And then they get easily tempted by people who are selling them some quick/easy money system.

Unless you’re already a well-connected genius in the business world, the truth is that quick and easy money is possible only if you leave out ethical and authentic….

First rule: try not t...

Dangers to Your Creativity: No Engagement and Viral Content

When you are trying to get into a consistent rhythm with your content creation, there are 2 situations that are dangerous to your creativity:

1. When you get no response.

2. When a piece of content goes viral.

Let's explore each one... Silence

It's easy to get discouraged, when what you thought was important or meaningful, didn’t come across that way to your audience.

No one took the time to like, comment, or share what you created.

You wonder:

Am I actually reaching anyone?Do I have something w...

Can Affiliate Marketing be Authentic?

Within the first year of my business, I reached a monthly sales revenue of $10,000 and by the third year, my revenue was $350,000. As a solopreneur, mostly selling my own online courses.

Back then, it was all thanks to affiliate marketing. (Some people call it JV or joint venture, strategic alliances, or referral partnerships. These days, it’s often called influencer marketing.)

Yet, after a few years, I was speaking out against affiliate marketing.

In this blog post, I’ll explain why I got disi...

Free vs. Premium Content

What kinds of content should be free versus paid/premium?

I’ll address that towards the second half of this blog post.

First, let’s talk about whether content should have a fee attached... In 2014 I promoted the idea that all content should be free because it would (1) help humanity progress faster, (2) help you attract your ideal audience, and (3) make you more creative by easing the pressure to make your content perfect.

I've changed my stance since then. Here's what I believe now:

Don't worry about the order of your content

A common creative block is worrying about the sequence in which you should be creating your content.

Having written a thousand blog posts, self-published four books, created a dozen online courses, I can tell you this:

Do not be concerned about the order of your content. Just start creating.

Why?You think you can create a perfect ordering of blog posts, or book chapters, or online courses, before you’ve begun writing?

Throughout your content creation journey, especially in the first years, new id...

Create first, sequence later.

Create first, sequence later.

Having now published a lot of content (1,000 videos, 300 blog posts, and 20 online courses) and I wish I learned this lesson earlier: Simply start creating. Then figure out the sequence later.
