Here is a fine opportunity for those of you who appreciate a tale or two about murder and mayhem. The promotion is called Killers and Thrillers and I’d say that pretty much says everything you need to know.

In nobody’s pocket

And I’d like to tell you about a fellow writer’s thriller – Carey Lewis’ In The Pocket. As ever in these situations, I’ll let Carey do the talking…

Who can you trust?

Jack Haley is a con man.

Jack turns himself in to the police, promising to expose a Russian mobster no one’s heard of.

Jack might be lying.

Newly promoted Charlotte Stiles is put on the case. Jack brings her into the world of the grifter, the world of the confidence man. The world where no one can be trusted and things presented are rarely what they seem.

Charlotte’s world is turned upside down as she digs for the truth. Friends can be enemies, cops can be criminals, and no one can be trusted, not even herself. A game is being played and it might be too late before she realizes she’s the central figure.

The prize for winning: Half a million dollars.

Losers: A lifetime in jail.

If you love twists, turns, deception and intrigue in your reading, this is the book for you!

Slugger is first to the punch

I wanted to share a little bit of good news with you about the Bowery Slugger, the first book in the Alex Cohen series. Well, I’m pleased to announce that it has just reached number one in the Australian Amazon Jewish Literature best seller list.

Totally stoked! I honestly never thought I’d find this level of success. Let me simply thank anyone and everyone who has bought the book, reviewed the book or recommended it to somebody else. I truly appreciate all the support I have received.

Huckster is happening

I am heading towards the end of the first draft of Midtown Huckster, which is what I’ve been focusing on this week.

The piece of history I am weaving into Alex’s life covers 1936 and the point when Lucky Luciano is taken to court for pandering, which is an old-fashioned phrase meaning running brothels. We have also been playing in the world where the syndicate made decisions about who would live and die in the gangster community.

Loving it!

I promised to tell you about the recent East Side Hustler blog tour and here I am keeping my word. Shocking.

First of all let me thank every blogger and reviewer who took the time to read the book and then to write down their thoughts about it. And I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank Emma from damppebbles who organized the whole thing. It was fab.

Here are the highlights…

★★★★★ “Never a dull moment, you become engrossed in the story from start to finish. I read this in one day the pages turning fast wondering what Alex would have to do next.” Jackie’s Reading Corner

★★★★★ “I was absorbed into the dark life of NY. It was fast paced and thrilling to watch Alex’s life unfold over those ten years. The author definitely has a knack for writing a compelling novel that keeps you glued to the pages.” Jessica Belmont

★★★★☆ “I think my favorite part of reading this series is spotting the real life historical figures.” PuzzlePaws

★★★★☆ “What made me fall in love with this book, though, is the historical aspect – the research and worldbuilding, that brought the fascinating world of the 1920s to life.” Beneath a Thousand Skies

★★★★☆ “This is such a good read! It’s racy and pacy, and Alex and all who he draws into his circle are permanently balancing on the knife-edge.” Jan’s Book Buzz

★★★★☆ “The author has a writing style that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. He instantly draws you into the story and he then takes you on an at times scary adventure.” GingerBookGeek

“I found this to be another brilliant fast-paced page-turner in the Alex Cohen series.” The P Turners Book Blog

“You can tell the author has worked really hard to create that authentic grown-up gangster noir feel here, and he has pulled it off with some savoir faire, so well done Mr Borstinski.” Brown Flopsy’s Book Burrow

“I also loved the amount of research Borstinski has put into Jewish gangs in Manhattan and Chicago.” The Bookxpert

“With a great cast of characters, it’s a thrilling combination of crime and history and a truly insightful glimpse of life in the roaring 20s.” The Haphazardous Hippo

“This is book two of a series but I was able to read this as a standalone and I am considering buying the first.” Jaynie’s Book Reviews

“This [book] was simply amazing. I found myself being absorbed by the story since page one. The descriptions were absolutely amazing.” Phannie the Ginger Bookworm

Mystery? Thriller? Done.

This time I have some excellent thrillers to offer you and the offering is called quite simply Mystery/Thriller 99 cent Promotion. So it is mysteries. They are thrilling and they should cost around a dollar.

PS The Bowery Slugger is in this promo but I must admit the price has just gone up to 2.99 – so apologies if that messes with your day.

Addicted to Love

This is aimed at those who like the steamier side of life and is called Addicted to You. There is a wealth of people wearing less clothing on the covers of these books than some would like–but for others this adds just the right amount of heat in the day. You decide.

It’s crime Jim, but not as we know it

All right, I might have exaggerated slightly to get your attention. This is a collection of crime stories that are very much crime focused, called Notorious Crime, Sorry Jim. The freebies here are very much about crime, criminals and all that jazz. I must stop with the TV and film references–they have nothing to do with the promotion.
