RUSH

In Case You Missed It! I've released a new book!
RUSH is a troubled soul with a penchant for drowning himself in drugs, alcohol, and women. His path to redemption is long and winding and not always pretty, but he's lucky to have a patient and caring new friend in Alyssa. Their journey from friendship to love isn't the perfect fairy tale, instead being a realistic portrayal of a man who thinks he's worth nothing, facing his demons and realizing he has someone in his life who makes him feel alive for the first time in a very long time.
P.S. Steer clear if sex outside the MC isn't acceptable for you!

You can purchase it here ... RUSH
Or you can check out my giveaway to win a free copy ... Giveaway
As always, thank you to everyone for your constant support!

Anna Belle Rose

The Long Road to Publication – by Anna Belle Rose
Years and years ago, actually decades ago, I was a stay-at-home mom for a bit, with my then youngest child who would not fall asleep at nap time. Over time, I realized that while he wouldn’t sleep, he would sit in his crib for a bit each afternoon, listening to Yanni at the Acropolis, looking at story books, and I could sit and write. And write I did. I wrote and wrote and wrote over many months. By then, my youngest was talking, and he somehow understood that Mommy was writing a book, and he kept nagging me to keep going. And I did.
Fast forward many years, and I’d keep opening the word file of that first novel, print it out, edit and revise, and eventually send it out to a few agents. Rejections would come in, and I’d put it away for a while, then that same son would poke at me again, and the process would start all over again. During this same time, I also started several other novels, and kept working on them in the same way. All of them were contemporary romances, heavily linked to life in Vermont, and all have gloriously happy endings – I mean, who doesn’t love a happily ever after?
Finally, late in 2016, I decided I needed to either get serious about writing, or give it up for good. So I pulled those two complete novels out again, and hired incredible professional editors to go at them. Then I started submitting them to a few agents, and a couple publishing houses that didn’t require representation by agents. And on June 13th, a publishing contract arrived on the novel I wrote first, The Phone Call. And on July 13th, a contract arrived for my second, That One Small Omission. And joy of joys, on December 4th, a contract was offered on my third, More Than I Can Say.
On October 11, 2017, That One Small Omission was published in e-book and print versions, and on December 12th, The Phone Callwill be published. The joy and excitement I feel each time I look at my mantle and see my first published novel is an emotion that I think only other authors can understand!

Jaci Wheeler

Silent Song coming to life by Jaci Wheeler
Many authors I know pull from events or people from their own lives for inspiration or storyline. I’ve never been that way personally. I’m an extremely private person by nature, so its very unusual for me to use any of myself in my books. That is actually my favorite thing about writing, I’m able to fully create worlds and people out of thin air. It allows you to become whoever you want for the moment. I usually create a main character who is nothing like me because it allows me to be and do all the things I’ve always wanted to.             I’ve had a very eventful life. Those who know me well always ask why I’ve never drawn from my real life for a novel, since my life is pretty much a lifetime movie. The idea of writing anything close to home has always been completely horrifying for me. (Super private remember?)             I have a pretty unique situation where I lost my hearing at eighteen years old. (You can read more about it in my letter to the reader in Silent Song.) Deafness is one of those subjects that most people think they understand…but actually don’t. There is so much more to deafness than not being able to hear. There are levels (decibels) of sound that is so intricate that it is much more than just you can hear or not.             A few years ago I read a book that had a deaf main character. The book was amazing, but there were so many things that weren’t accurate. It wasn’t glaringly obvious unless you were deaf, but it really bothered me. I had brought up the issue to a good author friend of mine and I’ll never forget what she said to me.             “The only way to fix this problem Jaci, is to set it straight. That means you are going to have to write the story of a deaf person from their perspective. Show people not only your world, but help them understand the deaf world. Who else will?”             I instantly shut her down. Theres no way I’m writing anything close my life. A few months went by and then I had to explain a few things about deafness to people that they just never knew. Like just because you speak English doesn’t mean deaf people can write in English without struggle. Almost every hearing person I talked to didn’t know that American Sign Language is NOT english. It has its own structure and rules like any other language. ASL is my second language, but it’s the main one I use at home with my husband. It’s hard for my brain to switch back and forth between ASL and English. Because of this I tend to change tenses when I write, which is very frowned upon in writing. I’m pretty sure I’ve driven every editor I’ve ever had to drink over this little fact.             After having to explain this to several people over a very short amount of time I finally came to terms with the fact that I was going to have to write a story with a deaf character.                        I decided to go home and just see if I even had a story in me. I don’t outline, ever. I just start writing. I usually write the end first, then the beginning and fill in the middle. (Yeah I’m weird.) So I went home and just started writing to see if I even had a story in me…and I couldn’t stop. I wrote through he night, and all weekend long. By the time I took a break I had almost written half of the book. This is the only book I didn’t have to re-write or revise. It was trapped deep down and apparently ready to be freed. I cried more while writing this story than I have probably ever cried in my life. But it was also the most cathartic thing I‘ve ever done.             This story isn’t my own, but the feelings are completely mine. The pain, fears and passion is all mine even though the story belongs to Barrett alone.
Silent Song by Jaci Wheeler is available on Amazon today.

Pitfall

Sharp Left Turn reset: By choosing to publish with Pronoun, I thought as an author I was taking back some of the power Amazon likes to wield so heavily over authors. And it was all good--in theory. But, only a week or so after I set it for pre-order, Pronoun announced they were done, finito, kaput. So this left authors scrambling. I chose to stick with them for a while longer and not have my pre-orders cancelled.
Then last week, the savior that is Amazon, sent an e-mail, seemingly coming to our rescue. They were actually going to help. Yeah, not so much for me. By failing to inform us of the procedure we needed to follow, they basically just got my business and gave nothing in return.
What does all this mean, you ask? Nothing really since anyone reading this probably got their copy already. But for me, it means Sharp Left Turn's history has been erased. There's no "what others bought" list to point people to Sharp Right Turn, and I'm not even positive anyone who has the first copy and chooses to review will be able to find it without searching Amazon for it, as the original purchase link no longer exists.
It's a little bit of a bummer, but I'll live. I just wanted to reaffirm the links to both Sharp Left Turn and Sharp Right Turn for anyone interested, and also add that they're both Kindle Unlimited available now, or SRT will be when it releases.
Thank you all so much for everything, and I hope those who bought and read will take the time to leave me a review. You can't imagine how nerve-wracking it is to wonder what people think of the updated version.

5 DAYSSSSS

Sharp Left Turn releases in just 5 days!
I'm nervous-excited and can't wait to hear your thoughts on it! I hope I picked and chose and added and deleted all the right things that will make you love this as much as the original. Even more works, too! Here's the purchase link ICYMI

Pre-order here!
At some point I'm going to have to pull this version and re-publish with Amazon. The original publisher I used, Pronoun, announced (less than two weeks after I set it for sale) that as of Jan. 15, they are closing their services.

I chose to keep it with them for now so that everyone who pre-ordered already wouldn't have their order cancelled. Luckily, though, I'd already loaded Sharp Right Turn to Amazon for publishing, so it won't be affected by this issue.

Sharp Left Turn has a Thunderclap campaign if you' like to help spread the word on release day. The link is here: Support SLT on Thunderclap

Sharp Right Turn is releasing on December 20 and is already on pre-order if you'd like to go ahead and get your copy. Thank you to those of you who already have, even though I have no idea how you knew.  Here's the link and cover!

Thank you so much for all of your support!

J.L. Stowers: The Cost of Survival

Behind The Cost of Survival
The Cost of Survival is a science fiction thriller exploring the dark side of human nature from a world on the brink of destruction. Author J. L. Stowers asks the question, “What if humankind could no longer reproduce?” The answer is shockingly disturbing, but perhaps not too far from the truth if our dark history repeats itself.
The main character, Walt Marshall, is cynical and distrustful of the very government who hired him. Yet he can’t say no to a once in a lifetime mission to a remote area devoid of the masses and their overwhelming use of technology. He makes his new home outside a military camp in a war-torn valley in hopes to restore the area to its once fruitful nature. However, Walt quickly realizes things aren’t what they seem.
Walt stumbles upon an unspeakable secret regarding the truth as to why this valley was selected for colonization. Readers are emerged in Walt’s journey and internal conflict. The closer he gets to finding answers, the more he’s reminded of the emotional anguish he tried to leave behind.  His path to the truth leads through espionage and treason all while forcing Walt out of his comfort zone. The long time loner is forced to trust and rely on the people around him in order to uncover the facts.
This story is filled with twists, turns, and symbolism to keep readers on their toes. However, the best thing the first book in the Genesis Rising series has to offer is a glimpse at the lore fueling the trilogy. In the short story prequel, Project Genesis, we witness the discovery of the Genesis documents and the formation of the secret organization behind the translation. In The Cost of Survival, Walt Marshall experiences the mysterious language once more. We learn some of the information uncovered in the Genesis documents and more will be revealed throughout the series.
This incredible journey will take readers beyond what they’ve expected and it all starts with learning the secrets within The Cost of Survival.

Introductions

Excerpts: Sharp left Turn         Meet Easton Wilder and Trystan Ashby          Chapter 1A knock interrupts our playful moment. I look up. “Maddox.” I smile to hide my confusion. “Did we have an appointment?”
He holds up a white paper bag. “I was just bringing lunch, if that’s okay.”
I motion to Tasha, who’s just finished grabbing our trash. “I’m sorry. Tasha and I were just finishing up.”
“Oh,” he says, his shoulders slumping. “Do you mind if I sit for a minute?”
Tasha deposits the trash into the bin and turns to exit my office. “Hi, Maddox,” she says as she passes him before sending me a lifted brow over his shoulder.
Chapter 4Weston, who’s always been overly emotional, basically snatches me from David’s grasp so he can offer his own hug. His voice is on the verge of tears as he speaks. “Cam looks so heartbreaking lying in there. Ryder and I came as soon as we heard.” He pulls away and holds me at arms-length. “What can we do to help?”
“Actually, there is something,” I say, hooking my arm around his side and turning us to face the rest of the group. “All of you. If you could follow me inside, I’ll ask David to explain.”
As we enter Cam’s room, two more faces greet me. Ryder, who I expected, but the other is a welcome surprise. Amelia is perched on the edge of Cam’s bed, brushing her fingers through his hair. She gets up and rushes toward me with wet cheeks, while Weston does practically the same to Ryder.
Chapter 6I chuckle as I move from the wall and take the clipboard from Brandon’s hand, looking over the list. My eyes narrow when they land on a certain ingredient. “What the fuck is this?” I snap, turning my glare to Jim. “I didn’t order any ingredients from China.”
Jim throws up his hands. “As I told him, I’m just the delivery guy.”
“Is that so?” I ask, shoving the clipboard back to Brandon and stepping closer to Jim. “Well deliver this whole order back where it came from. Inform the suppliers that I’ll find a company who can meet my needs.”
“But, sir—”
“Save it,” Brandon barks. “You heard him. Load it all back on the truck.”
Chapter 9Approaching her, I leave only centimeters between our bodies. “Is this what you really want, Easton? You’re sure about this?” I ask softly.
She doesn’t shrink back but looks at me with fierce determination. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes.”
I push even closer still, backing her into the wall. My hands find her hips and my lips lower to her neck. They skim up―goosebumps rise as a whimper escapes. I meet her eyes. “Whatever it takes,” I agree, returning my lips to her neck.
“No, no, this isn’t what I meant.” Her mouth protests, but her body complies. She cranes, inviting me closer.
“Isn’t it?” I whisper, allowing my tongue to leave a trail of fire along her already heated skin. My knee slides between her legs as my hands start their journey up her luscious curves, pulling her even closer.
No space left between us.
“I … I …” she breathes out, unable to communicate more.
“Shhh, Easton, I’ve got you,” I soothe, all the while seducing her with my body.
Chapter 11Weston’s eyes widen slightly, and it only takes a moment before I feel his presence behind me. Trystan’s hand launches into the empty space. “Hi. I’m Trystan Ashby, and you are?”
“Oh, my,” Weston says, his hand landing on his chest. I’d laugh if my nerves weren’t already so frayed. Guess it runs in the family.
Ryder takes Trystan’s hand, shaking his head at Weston. “Don’t mind him. The name’s Ryder Logan, Easy’s business partner, and this here’s her Irish Twin, Weston Wilder.”
Weston gasps and pushes Ryder’s hand aside so he can latch onto Trystan. “I can introduce myself.” Pumping like mad, he says, “I’m Weston. And it sure is a pleasure meeting you.”
Trystan chuckles, and it’s like the sun just appeared over the horizon. Weston’s eyes light up. “Easy,” he says, still holding Trystan’s hand. “Where have you been hiding this hunk of man?”
Chapter 14“Hetried to kiss me, thank you very much,” I say, jabbing myself in the chest with my pointer finger. “I stopped it.”
She sits back and crosses her arms. Her shrewd eyes are boring into me so seriously that I feel as if she might reach in and take the information she wants. “How far did it go exactly?” she asks, her voice firm.
I shrug one shoulder, making it seem as if it isn’t a big deal. “Our lips barely touched.”
“And?” Her eyes haven’t moved, and she even adds a brow lift for good measure.
“And it was freaking hot.” I smirk and lift my chin, daring her to chastise me.
Her dark brown eyes go from serious to nosy-excited in the blink of an eye, and she almost shivers as she leans back forward. “Tell me!” she demands. “I knew there was more.”
Just as I open my mouth, though, a throat clears in the doorway. Amelia and I both jump and snap our heads toward the intruder. Intruders. Trystan and Cooper have returned, and judging by the smirk Trystan’s sporting, I can’t be sure he didn’t overhear us.I hope you enjoyed!A note:This is just a taste from Book 1 of the Sharp Turn Saga ... Sharp Left Turn. A small sampling of what I mean when I say that it has been completely revamped. I'm over 2/3 into book 2, and I can definitely say that as the story moves forward, the changes become more substantial--while, I hope, retaining those specific things you loved about it before. SLT is 15 chapters and about 57k words.
It should be open for pre-order later this month for 99 cents.
One last thing, if you're interested in peeks or any of my OF work, you need to follow this blog or like my author page on FB--FayeByrdFiction--as this is the last post I will advertise on my FF pages. I truly suck at self-promotion and don't want to feel like I'm shoving something down your throat.
Leave me a comment if you have any thoughts :)

Specifics

Series Details:With book 1 (Sharp Left Turn) complete, I can give you a few more details. The actual release date is not solidified, but I am hoping for late October.
Each book will be released in roughly 30 day increments with a pre-order link for the next book located in the back.
ALL pre-orders for EACH  book will be 99 cents. This is my way of offering it to the fandom in the cheapest possible fashion. I've put a lot of work into this so far, and I hope that once you've read it, you'll feel it was worth the dollar from your pocket.
Once the book goes live, the price will be raised to the standard $2.99
I'm happy to do some ARCs also, in the next couple of weeks. If that interests you, please get in touch with me, as there won't be an official sign up sheet floating around anywhere. These are always in exchange for an honest review.

Cover Reveal? LOL, sorry! But time is ticking and this needs to be nailed down. So I present you the final version of the series covers (I think). I hope this is a pleasant surprise for you, since they weren't included in the previous options. I've taken the comments I received to heart :)

Anyone interested?

A couple things:Two quick things. I appreciate the small response on the covers, and I can only assume that you're not impressed lol! It's okay! I'll be back with a few more options soon. This stuff is ONLY happening here, so you should probably follow if you're at all interested in what SLT becomes. Also, I forgot to mention this in the last post, but if I post an image with a "watermark" on it, it wouldn't be in the final version. I'm just not paying for an image unless I fully intend to use it :)
Okay, last thing ... Book 1 is complete and edited. I need to give it a final read through, but after that (hopefully one day next week), I'll be interested in allowing a few people to read it. In the end, an Amazon/Goodreads review would be awesome, too, but it's not a requirement.
I'll need someone who can read with a critical eye. Yes, it's completely written and edited, but tweaks will be happening on my read-through, and I do make mistakes.
Things like a dropped word or "an" instead of "and" escape my eyes when I read my own words. My mind reads what was intended and not necessarily what is there. If you wanna comment on a plot point that is more than welcome, also. I'm open to more tweaks ... if it fits with what I'm trying to put out.
One final thought on this subject. When the "manuscript" (woot!) is ready, I'd like for the readers to be as quick as possible--say a week? It's in the 57k word range!
So, please, anyone interested can email me: 89fyrebyrd@gmail.com, PM me on FF or FB or leave a comment and we'll work it out.
