I was raised on science fiction and action adventure. I stumbled upon self-help and meditation. Could these two be combined and still be a SUPER COOL READ?

I’ve experienced this with myself and with my coaching clients. Just 20 to 30 minutes a day. This is the starting point. This changes lives for the better. I enjoyed all of these stories a lot AND I was kinda depressed a few days after each book. They were all dark, cold, and everyone was hungry. I still loved them but I had this question nagging me, can someone write a book that is FULL of action-adventure and romance and be REALLY cool without leaving me bummed out for a few days? Can someone book that is action-adventure, sci-fi, romantic, and FUN? Then I had the idea for Space Spiders on Prom Day.(less)

Inspiration!

Writing is fun when I remember "not to think."

Don't get me wrong. There are good times to think. Thinking is really good before I start writing. This type of thinking is often called research. And thinking is really good after I write. This is often called rewriting.

“Not all addictions are rooted in abuse or trauma, but I do believe they can all be traced to painful experience. A hurt is at the centre of all addictive behaviours. It is present in the gambler, the Internet addict, the compulsive shopper and the workaholic. The wound may not be as deep and the ache not as excruciating, and it may even be entirely hidden—but it’s there. As we’ll see, the effects of early stress or adverse experiences directly shape both the psychology and the neurobiology of addiction in the brain.”
