11 days of eBooks! Day 7: WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE

Newly updated and available in ebook:

WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE

Sometimes the best laid plans go sideways . . .

Three single female book editors living in Manhattan meet regularly for drinks to discuss their demanding jobs and their rollercoaster love lives. Tallie Blankenship is a small town girl made good, determined to leave her mark in publishing. Her senior editor is taking a leave of absence for mysterious reasons and has entrusted her with the manuscript of their most popular (and eccentric) author, and Tallie sees the responsibility as a huge stepping stone. But she's livid when the author's agent, infamous bad-boy Jerry Key yanks the project and gives it to her coworker who's willing to sleep with him in return.

Felecia Redmon is a city-bred senior editor with an impressive stable of writers, yet she fantasizes about being a homemaker, stocks her pantry with designer household products and bakes like Betty Crocker. Her brief relationship with agent Jerry Key was a demeaning disaster; he keeps resurfacing to make her life miserable, professionally and personally. When she receives a nude picture of herself in the office mail that she suspects Jerry sent, Felicia is desperate for revenge.

Jane Glass is a neurotic e-book editor with an identity crisis. She's adopted, and of unknown ethnic background, so she celebrates every cultural holiday and dresses flamboyantly with no apologies. Jane, too, has a beef with agent Jerry Key—a client of his plagiarized one of her e-book authors, and she knows that Jerry was fully aware.

The women decide to give Jerry a taste of his own medicine, and as carefully as they would mold a bestselling plot, they concoct a plan to lure the bad-boy agent into a compromising situation, take a digital photo of him, then send it to everyone in his e-mail address book. The plan goes off without a glitch…until they discover the next morning that Jerry is dead, and not of humiliation. To make matters worse, half of Manhattan's publishing industry received a picture of him at the crime scene that THEY sent.

The shaken women realize how incriminating their escapade will look to the police. They agree to remain silent, but loyalties are strained, especially after another person close to them turns up dead. Toss in a missing manuscript worth millions, a sexy cop too smart for their good, and a plot twist on a scope larger than anyone could have imagined, and the women suddenly realize that when it comes to friendship, flirtation and felony, they're in a WHOLE LOTTA TROUBLE.

Reviews:

"This book is entertaining, with a fun plot, a great cast of characters and a small glimpse into the world of publishing. It will keep you guessing and rooting for Tallie to the very end. A very good read." –The Best Reviews

"Stephanie Bond seems to get so much enjoyment out of writing her stories that the joy spills over to the reader.  If you like a dash of mystery, outlandish situations, great characters, and enjoy laughing, then this is the book for you."  –AOL Romance Fiction Forum

"An author who has remained on my 'must-buy' list for years."  –Romance Reviews Today

11 days of eBooks! Day 6: KILL THE COMPETITION

Newly updated and available in ebook:

KILL THE COMPETITION

There's only one sure way to get to the top: Kill the competition.

Belinda Hennessey moved to Atlanta to start over from a disastrous relationship. She'd dreamed of a glamorous life and successful career…instead, her love life is nonexistent, her accounting job for a furniture company is uninspiring, and the only way she can deal with the seething traffic is to join a carpool with three female coworkers. But on her first day driving carpool, Belinda rear ends a cop…and her day continues to slide when she learns the woman she replaced in the carpool died after falling down an elevator shaft at their office building.

The women in her carpool have widely different personalities: a big-haired southern woman with a noisy family and a shopping habit, a young mailroom employee married to a guy who needs a green card, and a widow who's secretive about why she has to skip the carpool on certain days. One thing they all agree on: Their boss Margo is a tyrant.

So when Margo cozies up to Belinda, she smells a setup. And Belinda starts to wonder if maybe the dead woman knew something about the business that got her killed. At least things are heating up between her and the cop she rammed—a relationship that comes in handy when Belinda finds a body in the trunk of her car. When she'd moved to the big city, this wasn't the kind of headline she'd been hoping to make!

Reviews:

"With a fast pace that moves the story along and smart snappy dialog between the characters, Ms Bond has penned another fascinating read that will leave her readers wanting more from this talented and imaginative author." –A Romance Review

"Stephanie Bond is in her usual rare form, and that form is utterly delightful. KILL THE COMPETITION is an excellent, fast-paced, sexy story. Ms. Bond's talent for creating characters is superb, and you feel like you know them personally. Her narrative is so descriptive that I smelled the exhaust fumes along the Georia 400 and I-85 to downtown Atlanta. All in all this was a fun read." –AOL Romance Fiction

"Whatever kind of book you want, you will probably find it in KILL THE COMPETITION. Laughter, suspense, passion, and female bonding all combine in this realistically complex and sometimes whacky book. Ms. Bond has created magic, and she pulls more than one rabbit out of the hat to surprise her readers." –Academic Planet

"With such an omimous title as KILL THE COMPETITION, readers probably expect plenty of suspense and tense drama. But Ms. Bond skillfully manages to infuse the serious business of murder with enough charm, romance, and humor to give the story a fun, light-hearted feeling." –Romance Reviews Today

"DO read this novel." Publishers Weekly

11 days of eBooks! Day 5: I THINK I LOVE YOU

Newly updated and available in ebook:

Sisters share everything in their closets, including the skeletons…

Twenty years ago, the Metcalf sisters witnessed a murder and formed a pact of silence. Now they're estranged and scattered because they all fell in love with the same man—fiery older sister Justine was engaged to handsome Dean Haviland; at the same time Dean was trying to bed mousy Regina, then jilted Justine at the altar to elope with their younger sister Mica.

Middle sister Regina Metcalf is a self-help book editor in Boston, perennially in search of a book that will help her sort out her own unfulfilled life. Ever the referee, she still feels responsible for not being able to keep her family together. Then her mother calls and asks her to come home to North Carolina—her parents are splitting and need help liquidating their antiques store. Regina agrees, even though she knows the trip home will dredge up ghosts.

Oldest sister Justine Metcalf is a balls-busting executive for a cosmetics company in Pennsylvania. She has money, power, and great redheaded looks. But her penchant for other women's husbands backfires when a scorned wife comes after her. Justine decides an impromptu visit to her parents in North Carolina is in order.

To the outside world, youngest sister Mica Metcalf seems to have the ideal life—she's a gorgeous, successful hair model living in L.A., with a celebrity lifestyle and handsome Dean Haviland on her arm. Both of her sisters wanted him, but she got him—and, unfortunately, his temper. Mica can't bring herself to leave him, until she learns he's cheating. She decides to retreat to her parents' home in North Carolina to recuperate and to ponder her next move.

When the sisters converge at their childhood home, old wounds are laid open against the backdrop of liquidating their parents' antiques business. And when Dean shows up, things go from bad to worse, especially when the lady-killer turns up dead.

In this fast-paced suspenseful comedy, three women discover that sisterhood transcends men, mistakes…and even murder.

11 Days of eBooks! Day 4: GOT YOUR NUMBER

Newly updated and available in ebook:

GOT  YOUR NUMBER

You can run, but eventually your past will catch up with you…

Roxann Beadleman is accustomed to living a covert life—she works menial jobs in Biloxi, Mississippi that give her enough flexibility to focus on her work with a rescue group that shepherds abused women and children to safety (outside the law). But a recent rescue went sideways and now an angry husband is after her. When she shows up to her waitressing job, a cop, Detective Joe Capistrano is waiting for her to ask questions about the rescued woman who thwarted a court order. Roxann feigns ignorance, but the detective knows she knows something about the "missing" woman. When Roxann gets home, her place has been ransacked, and the message "I've got your number" is on her computer screen.  She decides to get out of town, but doesn't know where to go. When she checks her mail and sees a forwarded invitation to her cousin's wedding in Baton Rouge, she decides it'll do. Roxann hits the road.

It's the happiest day of Angora Ryder's life—she's marrying a successful man and making her parents happy. The extravagant affair is going perfectly—until her groom changes his mind at the altar. While Angora is standing open-mouthed, wondering what to do, her cousin Roxann runs down the aisle and spirits her away. Later the women reminisce about their college days at Notre Dame; they recall a young woman who was killed in a hit and run incident on campus. They're also bound by a dishonorable pact they made that still haunts Roxann. They find the Life Lists they made when they were coeds; both of them were infatuated with their theology professor. When Roxann realizes Det. Capistrano (and maybe the enraged husband) is on her tail, Angora suggests they hit the road to accomplish things on their Life Lists, with the Notre Dame Homecoming as their destination.

When they arrive on campus, things go downhill fast. When someone close to them winds up murdered, both women are in hot water! Roxann suspects they set these events in motion years ago when they made their pact…and that someone else knows their secret.

Newly updated and available in ebook:

THREE WISHES

Be careful what you wish for…

Ladden Sanderson is an antiques dealer in Sacramento, California with the ill fortune to have fallen in love with Jasmine Crowne, the governor's girlfriend. But the most he has to offer the lovely interior designer is an antique rug for her latest job: redecorating her boyfriend's bedroom in the governor's mansion. He thinks he might have found a great rug at the auction he just left. While he's cleaning a copper lamp that came in a lot with the rug, an earthquake erupts, reducing his store to shambles. A homeless man appears with outlandish stories of being a genie and granting Ladden three wishes. Ladden sends him on his way, but bizarre things begin to happen—things that don't exactly endear him to Jasmine, or her powerful boyfriend!

The "genie" appears and disappears at the oddest times…and then there's the rug Ladden bought that seems to move around on its own volition. By the time Ladden starts to think there could be something to this magic thing, he's wished himself into a hole the size of the Grand Canyon! But he still has one wish left–should he wish for his own happiness, or Jasmine's, even if her happiness means his heart will be broken? A riotous contemporary twist on a classic tale.

11 days of eBooks! Day 2: OUR HUSBAND

Newly updated and available in ebook:

OUR HUSBAND

Hell hath no fury like three women scorned…

Thirty-something Dr. Natalie Carmichael has it all—a busy family practice in a small town, a great old Victorian house she inherited from a beloved aunt, and a handsome husband of six years with a thriving sales career in prosthetic limbs. But her perfect world begins to unravel when a man shows up demanding the jewelry she's wearing in return for a debt her husband Raymond owes. Natalie is still reeling when she receives a phone call that Raymond has been in a minor car accident. She rushes to the hospital with thoughts of strangling the truth out of him, only to discover that two other women have beaten her there, both claiming to be married to Raymond!

Fifty-something socialite Beatrix Carmichael knows Raymond married her for her money, but she loves the cad anyway. Over the years, though, their childless marriage and his constant traveling have driven her to drink, pop pills, and keep the home shopping channels in business. When she gets a call that Raymond's been in an accident, she actually relishes the thought of him lying captive in bed, forced to spend time with her. But when Beatrix arrives to find two other women vying for a place by his bedside, she's looking for a plug to pull.

Twenty-one-year-old Ruby Lynn Carmichael thought she'd hit the jackpot when she met Raymond at the strip club where she works. He swept her off her feet, gave her a big fat ring, and bought her a double-wide trailer as a wedding gift. Ruby thought her life was set…until she learns that Raymond has two other wives in the wings, and the women aren't exhibiting a very sharing spirit. Still, Ruby Lynn has a secret growing inside her that will ensure she gets what's coming to her.

When over-committed Raymond Carmichael dies suddenly, his wives are grief-stricken and furious not to have the chance to confront him about his triple betrayal. But their heartache turns to suspicion when it's revealed that Raymond was murdered. They all have means and motive, yet they each profess their innocence. To save themselves, this unlikely trio band together to track down a killer, and along the way, find a lot more than they bargained for.
