I worried that this was going to read like a drawn-out doctoral dissertation, but I was surprised by how easy this was to read. I picked it up at a book sale only because I had only heard of "crazy King Ludwig" and wondered more about this man. When ...more | |
"This isn’t a particularly great book, but it’s adequate to its subject, who wasn’t a particularly great king. For people with an interest in Ludwig who can’t (or won’t) read about him in German, it is about as good as it gets.
