The book is an adaptation of the Sage Escape comic book series. I’ve wanted to do a kids version of the series since it began in 2012. This is the first year (2017) that I’ve had the time to even attempt it. Writing and illustrating the book actually went really smoothly. It helped that I’d just been working on the main comic book/graphic novel series, so all the characters and locations were clear in my mind. It was so enjoyable, that I’m bouncing straight into the second book: Sage Escape Adventures: The Butterfly Woman. (less)

As I’m working on the first story, I jot down notes for the new (second) story in note pads. I have piles of notepads and folders with stories piling up from over the years. By the time I actually get to turn a story into a book for release, I’m pretty inspired because the characters and worlds have been developing for so long in my mind. It’s actually a relief to get them down on paper. (less)

New IT movie is great!

Last night I went to an advanced screening of the new feature film adaption of Stephen King’s novel, IT. Gotta say, as a huge fan of the book and the original TV miniseries, the new movie is pretty darn good. Excellent production valves. Sticks close to the story and characters. While making a few tweaks so it works in a new format. Overall, loved it. Bring on part 2!
