He is the author or editor of six books, including Just Babies: The Origins of Good and Evil.

Joseph Goldstein has been leading meditation retreats worldwide since 1974. He is a cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society, the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, and the Forest Refuge.
