Dramatic Reading of The Naughty List

Author and friend Josh Berk recorded a dramatic reading from The Naughty List. In return, I recorded my own dramatic reading of his book The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin--which releases today!!! Yay, Josh!

Enjoy the stellar acting!

Book Release Weekend

I have so many more pictures to add to this montage, but for now... here it is!! I had an excellent weekend where I was interviewed on the news and then sold over 80 books at my signing. To top it all off, my mother threw a HUGE surprise party!!

Here are the photos:

Book release partying!

Hometown. Bookstore. And lots of chicken riggies.... must be Utica!! Woo Hoo! I was also on the news last night! They interviewed me live in the studio, and despite taking a few deep breaths, I still managed to sound like the biggest dork on the planet. Sigh. I might put up a bit of the tape later... I'm just not sure I have the guts. Today, BIG BOOK SIGNING DAY!!!!

Party Time

I have some major weekend plans, including an interview on the news tonight (eek!) and a book signing, but I thought I'd share some of my goodtimes last night! Well, some of it. There's a wonderful video from the 90's of us that we discovered. And once I get the proper legal signoffs, I might post a little bit of it. It's too funny to stay on VHS.

Lost in the City!

I had such a fantastic day yesterday! First with the excellent instructions of my friend Lauren Oliver, I found my way on the subway (alone!) to the Penguin offices. I showed up early and distracted everyone for way too long, but they were great sports about it. Here I am with Gillian and my editor, Brianne! They're soooo cute!!! And you won't believe how many books I grabbed! It was like writer's Christmas!

Then we went out to lunch where I proceeded to talk too much and eat too slow...

Let's explore!

Today was sort of a chill day here in NYC. You see that sentence? That was such a strange sentence for me to type! hah

Anyway, I went to meet my agent, but first I stopped by a coffee house to visit the wonderful Nova Ren Suma (who I love) and ended up sitting with her and Libba Bray (yes, that Libba Bray). It was pretty awesome! Libba is hilarious and me and Nova laughed the entire time.

Then I walked back 15 blocks (thanks, Nova!) to my agent's office. Look how cute and quaint it is. Also, th...

Final Night at SCBWI!

Woo! I haven't been blogging nearly enough shenanigans posts. Am I growing up? Or have I just learned to keep the party pictures private? I guess you'll never know....

Today was an excellent day. Other than the awesome coverage on Team Blog... It was also... wait for it... my first book signing!! I was so excited! Within ten minutes all of the copies of The Naughty List were sold out! And then, people had me sign bookmarks, stickers, even their sketch pads. It was overwhelmingly awesome. I'm...

Conference fun!

Yesterday was a great day! I sat through Razorbill publisher Ben Schrank's awesome speech. And no, I'm not just saying it was awesome because he mentioned The Naughty List. And held it up. Said it was good. Convinced people to buy it. That had no bearing on my opinion of his talk. Now... I'm not sure what he was talking about... but I'm SURE it was awesome!!! Kidding, it was pretty good.
But THEN, as I was walking out, I was surprised by these two cuties!! Look at that! How freaking cool is...
