The Novel Graveyard

A day early, but here's the last Wrong Answer post from my novel graveyard. Unfortunately this book didn't make it past the first two chapters. Next week we'll dive into something new!!

To catch up on the story, please first visit it HERE!

WRONG ANSWER (continued)

This was the ultimate in awful. And stupid, hands-all-over-me Nathan Wright was just sitting there, grinning and staring. I rolled my eyes and turned in my seat to look out the window.

"I have to run to the restroom," Mrs. H...

The Emo-Coach weighs in on Cheerleaders

Today I'm featuring writer Bethany Griffin--fantastic author of Handcuffs--available now!

***
So, I'm guest blogging for Suzanne today, and I'm sitting here with The Naughty List on my desk, in all of its…pinkness. So what do I write about? I won't make you guess since I put it in the title. Today I am musing about cheerleaders. First, let me say that how cool and brave I think it is that Suz tackled cheerleaders as the main characters in this book. From my (admittedly skewed) perspective of hi...

The Novel Graveyard

If you haven't seen it yet, I'm digging through my trenches of old manuscripts and sharing bits of them!

Last week I introduced WRONG ANSWER. You can read the excerpt HERE.

Here's the next installment of WA:

###

"Thank you, Ms. Parrish," Mrs. Hornsby said as I handed in my test. I stood awkwardly in front of her, shocked she'd called me up.

And then, straight from my nightmares, the withered old woman stood up and dramatically ripped my test in two, letting the pieces flutter around her ...

An Awesomely Bad Contest!

Inspired by my Facebook status update:

I've had some awesomely bad songs stuck in my head lately. Part of this is due to American Idol, part my writing, and the rest is my husband's fault. It's not even that the songs themselves are that awful. It's just that on a loop--when you only know the chorus--it can get mindnumbing.

So... Here's the contest. Up for grabs is a signed copy of The Naughty List plus some stickers and a COOL, SECRET ARC of something that's not out yet. It's BIG!

The Naughty List

You know what's awesome? Book trailers.

You know what's not so awesome? My book trailers.

But without the budget, I had to rely on my own creativity... sorry. Although Josh Berk hooked me up with the raddest Naughty List theme song ever!! So listen with the sound on!

So here's my Naughty List trailer (attempt 2). And please, if you can make a better one--I'll love you forever!! Permanent life-long SOS member status here on the blog!

The Novel Graveyard

I'm always writing, like... always. As a result I have a novel graveyard. It's populated by finished, almost finished, and partly finished books. I get sad when I go in there, poking around. Sometimes I think, I can still use this!! But nope. I see now that they were just ways I was teaching myself to write.

But, I've finally found a use for them. At least for a little while. I'm going to post an excerpt a week from one of my novel graveyard books. So come back next Wednesday for the next inst...

A Dream Realized!

It finally happened!! I went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory-one of my top five goals!! I've been talking about it for ages, and today was the day.

My family left with ice cream and I left with a pepporoni stick. It was a blast!

Next up, we decided to find a lighthouse. When we got there we saw that the road was shut down because some d-bags decided to vandalize it. Who would do that? Well, either way we hiked to it and it was fantastic!

And my son got to realize one of his dreams,too--seeing s...

Day Tripping in Portland!

Today we decided to try a little something different. So we parked the car and rode the MAX into Portland. The kids were insanely excited (I mean, it's a train!) and we only got off at the wrong stop once.

First we hit up OMSI to visit the space exhibit. It was super cool and they even had Samson--the second largest T-Rex ever recovered.

Then we hopped back on the train and headed to the Rose Quarter. Because we were about to Walk With Dinosaurs!!!

You've seen the TV show, right? Well they made ...
