French American poet and actress Hélène Cardona (Chocolat) reads from her new bilingual collection Dreaming My Animal Selves / Le Songe de mes Âmes Animales (Salmon Poetry, 2013) at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica. Review of Dreaming My Animal Selves by Chantal Simon

Review of Dreaming My Animal Selves by Chantal Simon:

http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Hélène Cardona's "Dreaming My Animal Selves: Le Songe de Mes Ames Animales" invites us on an oneiric journey alongside mythical creatures, numinous animals and seductive flora. Its patterns —wavelike, labyrinthine or concentric— seem to act as portals allowing us to "step out of time" into a light-infused, watery landscape where ancestors and pieces of self are re-membered. Hélène Cardona weaves words like one casts a spell. Unforgettable.

Review of Dreaming My Animal Selves by Linda Ibbotson

Dreaming My Animal Selves by Helene Cardona is a meandering , meditative journey into the very essence of nature. Refreshing and rejuvenating the soul with her gently flowing words and dreams the final lines in her poem Pathway to Gifts epitomizes this feeling " The dream opens forgotten realms of creation. I think that's what time is." A book certainly to treasure.
