Excerpt
He dozed and dreamed of Flora in the emerald gown again. Now her waist-length hair matched the deep red color of the large ruby hanging from a gold chain. The ruby and gold glinted in shards of green light flashing around her and in her eyes. How lovely she appeared, with flawless white skin, ruby red hair, and eyes to match the emerald gown. Gavin’s heart near burst with her beauty. While he watched, Flora removed the ruby from her neck, dipped the stone three times in a crystal goblet of clear water. The water turned red as the ruby.
She held the goblet out to him. “Take this and drink. The ruby’s water will drive the evil away and make you weel.”
“Aye. I desire to be well.” Gavin reached for the beautiful crystal chalice now filled with red water.
Just as his hand touched the chalice, a large boot kicked his foot. Flora disappeared with the red, healing water. Gavin’s eyes popped open. He remained still, grabbing the sgian dubh from his boot with one hand and the pistol from his belt with the other.

Tina's Tips to Avoid Getting #Sick
I know several people who are not feeling well so I would remind us all how to avoid getting sick.
Hope you can avoid the flu, and here are some suggestions I found.
Whether or not you got a flu shot, since it isn't 100% effective, you should follow these steps to help prevent you and your family from getting sick with the flu:

Wash your hands often. Remember that one of the most common ways people catch colds and the flu is by rubbing their nose or their eyes after their hands have been contaminated with a virus.
By washing your hands often, especially before, during, and after you prepare food before you eat, and after you use the bathroom after handling animals or animal waste when your hands are dirty, and more frequently when someone in your home is sick, you may avoid getting sick yourself and keep your kids from getting sick too.
Routinely clean, with soap and water, and disinfect surfaces, toys, and objects that younger children may put in their mouths. It may also help to wipe surfaces with paper towels that can be thrown away or cloth towels that can be washed afterwards.
Use disposable tissues to wipe or blow your child's nose.
Teach your children 'cough etiquette', which the American Academy of Pediatrics describes as teaching children to turn their heads and cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue or the inside of their elbow if they don't have a tissue, instead of simply coughing or sneezing onto their hands, which will then spread their germs onto everything they touch.
Avoid close contact with people when you are sick. It isn't really possible to completely avoid people who are sick, so it is likely better if you just avoid exposing other people to your germs when you or your kids are sick. So don't go to school, daycare, work, etc., if you are sick with the flu.
Avoid unnecessary contact with a lot of people for your younger children. It isn't easy to always tell when people are sick and some people are contagious even before they start to have symptoms, so don't expose your younger kids to large crowds of people if you don't have to
Take a reusable water bottle to school or work, like a Sigg or CamelBak, instead of using the school water fountain, which may become contaminated with germs, especially during cold and flu season.

Betrayal Even After Death Hurts by @AuthorTinaGayle #MFRWHooks #MFRWauthor

Genre: Contemporary Romance with strong women fiction elements
Four women...
One fatal car wreck...
Everyone's lives changed...
Marketing Exec’s Widow

Sylvia Donovan is emotionally wounded from the unexpected death of her husband and still haunted by their last conversation: his request for a divorce and his confession of love for another woman. Her husband gone, her only daughter off to college, Sylvia faces the challenges of learning to live alone and move on with her life.
Vince Wilshire, enchanted with Sylvia, is more than willing to do what it takes to capture the heart of the hurting and untrusting Sylvia.
Can he help her forget the past and make her believe in love again?
Excerpt:
"What is this? Are you guys ganging up on me?" Sylvia ignored the man beside her and glanced in the rear view mirror, checking to make sure her tears hadn't caused any lasting effect.
A warm hand landed on her shoulder and Vince toyed with her hair. "Not at all, I like the idea of entering the building with a gorgeous woman on my arm."
"Right," she protested and stuffed her phone into her purse before turning to stare into his bedroom-brown eyes. The spark in their depths had her reevaluating her impression of the man.
Yes, he had the face and body to rival every other Casanova in the world, but he also had a sense of humor. That alone sent a shiver of awareness through her. She fought the desire gathering in her stomach and waved her hand at him so he'd move out of the way, letting her exit the car. "Did Knox make you wait out here in the parking lot to make sure I would come inside?"
Vince grinned and held her door open while she stepped onto the asphalt. His gaze fell to her legs.
She stared at her new, high-heel, red pumps and silently prayed she wouldn't land face first in the dirt when she tried to walk across the pitted parking lot in them.
A low whistled sounded beside her. "Man, are you ever hot.”
She ignored the comment and didn't turn until she heard the car door slamming closed. "And there's not a woman you've ever met you haven't wanted."
He slapped a hand over his chest. "Oh, you injure me. If I had a beautiful woman like you on my arm, I'd be content for eternity."
"Or until the next pretty face walked by." Sylvia tossed her dark auburn hair off her shoulder and walked toward the front entrance without glancing back. The man is entirely too cocky.
He hurried to her side and slipped his arm through hers. "Not a chance, no woman can compete with you."

The Power of Silence Can Help You Learn Dramatic #Truths

It is as important to cultivate your silent power as it is your word power.
William James
This I thought was interesting because I just read an exercise in "Writing on Both Sides of the Brain" by Henriette Anne Klauser. In the exercise one person is listening while the other person speaks, they do this for three minutes without the listening person saying anything other than yes, go on.
According to Ms. Klauser, it has a number of benefits not only to the person being listened to, but to the listener as well.
- reveals dramatic truths
- allows us to calm our mind and hone in on the problem
- helps you find the answers to your own problems
Silent power is skill worth developing.
Have an awesome day,
Tina

Marketing Exec's Widow by @AuthorTinaGayle is a #ScintillatingSunday #read

A "Scintillation" Excerpt
A simple meal with a beautiful woman, maybe a kiss goodnight, he hadn’t expected any more than that. Yet, here he lay on the floor.
A hand landed on his chest. “Hagan, I...”
Electricity shot through him. His eyes sprang open. He felt as if he’d been transported into one of his fantasies. Jen positioned on her knees beside him. Her light brown hair fell in a seductive waterfall onto his chest. The amused smile on her full, wet lips and the rich chocolate color of her gaze melted his desire to move.
The last time he’d gotten this close to her, the waitress had interrupted.
She fidgeted worriedly on her knees, and her thigh bumped his hip. The nervous caress of her hand ran from his throat to his solar plexus.
Though it frightened him to think where his feeling for her might lead, he had no doubt the knowledge would scare her even more. Yet, he couldn’t pass up the chance to get a taste of her.
His gaze dropped to her mouth.
He drew in a much-needed breath.
Jen shook her head and removed her hand. “George, uh, loves to beat the pavement.”
Don't we love how dogs bring couples together.

Excerpt from - IT Exec's Baby by @authortinagayle #ASMSG #WomenFiction
2nd book in the Executives Wives' Club Series
Brie Sullivan has a new baby girl and there are a million things to do, but Brie doesn’t have the energy to keep up. Why? She’s still grieving for her husband and suffering from baby blues, but she won’t let that stop her. She’s come up with the answer--find a new husband to be the father of her kids.
Jason Clark has been doing everything he can to help Brie. He loves her but can he accept her proposal of marriage knowing she’s not thinking clearly about the future?
Excerpt:
A tall silhouette stood behind the glass panels framing the door. She paused, her hand resting on the doorknob. “Who is it?”
“Brie, it’s me, Jason. Is everything okay?”
Wonderful, he wouldn’t stay long, not after everything that had happen during Isabella’s birth. Then again, could she blame him? She had clung to him as if he were a life line, becoming upset if he even stepped away from the hospital bed.
A little voice sounded in her head. Don’t invite him in.
She nodded her agreement. He didn’t need to see the dirty dishes in the sink or the half-folded laundry in the living room or that she hadn’t vacuumed in more than a week. She brushed back her hair and then flipped the deadbolt.
Inching the door open, she peeked through the crack at the son of one of the executives’ wives. Marianne had requested her son help Brie, just handle a few small jobs around the house so she wouldn’t have to. Thankfully, Jason had agreed. Now, he seemed to arrive whenever she needed help.
The chilly night air touched her cheek. Afraid he’d see her tears, she brushed her hands quickly over her face and rushed through her greeting. “Hey, Jason, we’re all fine, so you can just head on home.”
“I’m in no hurry.” He edged forward, his hand resting on the door. The gap widened. “I had a job at a house down the street. They needed a toilet reseated. Only took a few minutes, so I decided to stop by on the way home and see how you were doing.”
Brie blocked the door from swinging open any further. She struggled for a way to deny him entrance. His mother was one of her best friends. He coached her son’s little league baseball team, and had stood beside her during the birth of her daughter.
“Jason, it’s really not a good time. The house is a mess. The kids are in bed and well...” Her cordial manners sent a bullet of guilt through her for being so impolite. She edged back a step. The crack grew wider. “If you want to come inside, I guess I can rustle you up something to eat.”
Yes, food, the ever-ready gift of peace.
She’d hide in the kitchen, while he rested in one of the recliners in the living room. Then once she had everything ready, he’d eat, leave, end of story. He’d head home, and all would be right with the world. She frowned as he stepped across the threshold, but did she really want to cook?

Let's Talk about How to Pin a Post #Marketing, #twitter, #ASMSG

Pinning a post to your profile page to me is the single most important way to get retweets.
Why? Because when people go to your profile page, it gives them something to retweet. They don't have to make anything up and it shows their support.
Now to pin a tweet to your profile page-
1. Create a tweet and hit enter.
2. Find it in your stream and click on the ...(three dots in the corner of the post) Sometimes this is in the far right bottom corner, sometimes in the far left bottom corner. Click on it an a list of options will appear.
The one second from the bottom is Pin to Profile Page.
Click on that option and another screen will come up asking if you are sure you want to pin to your profile page.
Click yes.
Then at the top of the screen will come up a message asking if you want to view your page.
Click yes or refresh screen.
You will now see the tweet you created at the top of your profile page. From now on, it will stay at the top of your profile page until you change it.
The numbers under the post will tell you the number of people who have retweeted the post.
I personally, change this out often, but it is up to you how often you want to change your top post.
Hope this helps you get more tweets,
Tina

Fundamental Truths about Marketing #ASMSG

We all live, died, breath, bleed if stabbed, laugh, cry and grieve.
We have a lot more in common than we are willing to admit. Everyone is looking for their special group.
I find this especially true when talking to market people. Find your niche market, learn who your readers are and you'll know how to find more people to buy your book.
Okay, I get it, but what if I don't like being locked into a box that can only appeal to one set of people.
I'm not only interest in one set of things. I'm a mother, artist, gardener, author, enjoy programming and mysteries. My interest are diverse. Why can't the people who I write for be the same?
My answer is they are. The thing that I think we have to all remember is there are a few fundamental truths and use those things when communicating with other.
In my Executive Wives Club series, I deal with grief. Everyone who has ever lost someone know how hard it is to cope after losing someone you love.
In my other books, I deal with women who are struggling to make a life for themselves.
Okay, half the population is men, but they struggle everyday to get ahead too. They want to find love, get married, have children and have a career. They may not want to read about a happy ever-after, but they can relate to the issues in which I write.
So what does all this tell you?
In market and in life, if you want to sell an item you have to find the emotions and truths that appeal to a wide audience. Will it help you sell more books?
Yes, because when a person can connect to an item. Then they are more likely to be interest in the product and will consider purchasing the item.
Just my thoughts for today.
Feel free to comment,
Tina

The Off-World Mystery - Mating Rituals on #Sale #ASMSG

With rock-hard fortitude, Marohka Taunton battles to maintain her position as top mineralogist and refuses to see why she should marry even if the law requires she take a mate. Fighting her attraction for Stihl Fermesium, she struggles to save her father's company.
Stihl, determined to win her as his mate, is faced with the commission deal of a lifetime and needs the money to save his family land. He wrestles with her emotional resistance and discovers someone other than Marohka is unhappy about their union. In fact, they want to separate them in the most basic of ways, death.
Excerpt:
The car drew into a covered station. A large plaza stood next to it. Colorful robes, white turbans, leather jackets, all types of attire graced the bodies walking around carrying shopping totes. Red, blue, and blond-haired children played on small multi-tier rockets. A solar-powered jet lifted them to the top. Long tubes spiraled around and through the center of the display, which sent the children on a wild ride to the sandy playground below.
“This building has a mall and offices connected to it, so you never have to leave the area. It’s all right here.” Stihl captured her hand upon disembarking.
Marohka waited until Cyd cleared the door with the luggage before she tugged her hand free. “I don’t need any help.”
He smiled. She strolled past him and entered the lobby. He stopped her by laying a hand on her waist. “I wasn’t helping. I was touching.” He drew her up against his chest. “You keep forgetting we’re a couple.”
Her anger demanded she shout at him, but in a controlled whisper, she fought his rights. “We haven’t blended. And with your current rate of charm, it won’t happen any time soon.”
His eyes twinkled. Marohka wanted badly to knock the humor out of him with a punch to the gut. But before she could respond, he shocked her with a light kiss on the cheek.
“We’ll see.” His arm still around her waist, he led her toward the lift. “We’d better get moving. Cyd’s waiting.”
With him so close, the urge to ram her elbow in his stomach almost became a reality. Until as if reading her mind, he shifted his hand over her arm. He kept her from doing any damage. In the lift, Marohka stood very still. Even though she wanted to step away from him, he held her close to his side. The heat radiating from him smothered her with his presence.
Tantalizing thoughts teased her mind. Her heart raced. Every touch awoke nerve endings, which sizzled over her skin. She couldn’t breathe or relax. His hand caressed her waist, his breath ruffled her hair, and his chest crowded her shoulder. She shifted on her feet, and her arm brushed his bicep. The desire to wrestle him to the ground battled with the need to run away.
