Chanakya a.k.a. Kautilya on People and Trust
One of the greatest challenges we face in our life is Trust. It is never easy to trust an individual. It is by far the most daunting task of life to find someone you can trust.
When people are in trouble, owing to their fear and anxieties, when their mind is disturbed, they are vulnerable to repose that trust on others to find a way out of their trouble. Thereby, not just, adding to the problems at hand but probably even worsening the situation at hand. When you doubt someone with their inten...August 7, 2019
Reinterpreting Vedic Knowledge and Wisdom
Theists are those who think God is an individual being who’s omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. There also are some theists who think God is the one who resides in heaven and relays his message(s) through prophets, angels, and good omens from time to time.
Atheists are the people who don’t believe in the idea of God, who think things are explained better by science and rationale. They also have deeper disagreements, resentment as well as, many times, hatred towards Theists. More than oft...

The Nature of Absolute Power
उदयोगिनं पुरुषसिंहमुपैति लकषमी: दैवेन देयमिति कापुरुषा वदनति | दैवं निहतय कुरु पौरुषमातमशकतया यतने कृते यदि न सिधयतिकोतर दोष: ||Fortune (Goddess Lakshmi) favors the industrious and brave (Lion-like). “Divine decree” is coward-speak. Forget providence and put in your best efforts. If you endeavored but still failed, it is not your fault.
Power is usually viewed from an external perspective. It is defined as the capability of accomplishing something with some permanence. Power is sometimes...

Bandhu & Bandhanam: The Vedic Wisdom on Relationships
The word Bandhu in Vedic Sanskrit stands for Relatives as well as Friends. The word Bandhanam, which comes from the root word Bandha, means Bondage.
Sama Veda declares:
अयं बनधुरयंनेति गणना लघुचेतसाम |
उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुमबकम ॥‘This person is mine, and this one is not’ is a false perception of ignorant and selfish individuals. For those who have realized and live in the abundance of knowledge and wisdom, the entire world is their family.
Relationships are natural. According to Vedi...

Daridryam, Dhanam & Dhanyam: From Poverty to Prosperity to Perpetual Bliss
Since most of the Vedic ॠषि Rishis (authors of Vedic texts) lived away from civilization, in the woods, a great many tend to wrongly assume “suffering poverty” to be a “Vedic ideal.” Nothing can be farther from the truth. Neither did the Vedic Rishis glorified poverty nor did they demonize wealth. A great many of the Rishis were the ones who lived a financially affluent life before renouncing it all of their own volition to become hermits and renunciates. Valmiki, the celebrated author of Ramayana, was a dreaded dacoit n...

Vedic Approach to Resolving Emotional Crisis
Are problems an essential part of life? Where do these problems come? Why do we use quick fixes instead of resolving these problems completely?
Most people, facing a multitude of problems in their life, do not tend to ask, let alone finding answers to, these questions. When you do not ask intelligent questions, you fail not just to resolve those problems and as a result, face an absolute crisis, where salvaging becomes difficult.
A Perspective is a particular attitude towards or way of regard...

Kautilya’s axiom to peace, power and prosperity
“Kautilya” or “Chanakya” inspires a great many of his admirers even to this day. A legend who played a pivotal role in building a great empire that unified India under a single rule – is often compared with 16th-century renaissance author Niccolo Machiavelli. Although it could be considered– Kautilya was a genius way ahead of his time and had a vision beyond the statesmanship of the western world. It becomes evident when we read his version of Artha Shastra.
As strange as it may sound Kautilya was no...
A Rishi, a Dimwit and the Distortion of the Vedic Teachings
A dimwit lad found a Rishi meditating deep in the woods under a tree. His face was graceful, peaceful and happy. He looked around, there was nothing great around the sage; neither any valuables nor any objects of comfort.
“He has got nothing and yet he is happy. How could that be possible?” he grew curious.
In haste, he woke the sage from his deep meditation and asked, “Tell me, sire, you got nothing how are you happy?”
The Rishi smiled, “I have nothing, so I am happy.”
The logic proved too...
