Take a Peek with Author Tena Stetler. If your good you may get ice cream.

Interests: I love being outdoors, gardening, or just enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. I share my life with a wonderful husband of many moons, our brilliant Chow Chow, a terribly spoiled twenty-three-year-old companion parrot, and a forty-five-year-old box turtle. We enjoy hiking, biking, and camping and also love water sports, including kayaking and whitewater rafting. Love to read. Nothing better than relaxing outside your thirty-eight-foot fifth-wheel trailer with a good book and a glass of your favorite drink.
Also, I love to cook and bake. Recently, I found the most scrumptious banana pudding recipe. Made it, and it was to die for. LOL, let me know if you’d like the recipe.
Network: I have a strong support network of fellow writers I met in person and online at The Wild Rose Press, my publishing company. I connect with readers mainly through social media and book signings. Also, whoever asks me what I do for a living, I always have postcards of my books handy.
Desk: It’s messy when I’m working on my WIP. I clean it up after each manuscript is completed and submitted.
Outrageous: I have an unbelievable overactive imagination. It keeps me from watching scary movies, or else I’d keep my hubby up all night with every light in the house on. Makes for an outrageous utility bill. LOL
Window, what’s outside of yours? Blue sky, a neighbor’s house, birds of all kinds, flowers, trees, the majestic Rocky Mountains, and people walking by.

Since April 6th, 2021 the book has won awards and mostly 4 and 5 Star reviews. Some of those reviews made me cry. In the spirit of sharing RHG is on sale for 99₡ until April 16th.

Here are some reviews
This engrossing story had it all, mystery, suspense, and romance. The twists and turns made it impossible to put down. I enjoyed the supporting characters as well. I will be looking for more from this talented storyteller.
This book is a delightful, savory, hopeful, fun, romantic, and warmhearted read!!
I really enjoyed this romantic suspense. The author portrayed a vivid description of the glamorous world of the high-end restaurant business. The characters were believable, and I rooted for Shay, the heroine, to overcome the many obstacles in her quest to find true love with Aden, the physically and emotionally damaged hero.
Excerpt
“Easy, you’re going to be okay.” A soft voice eased through the chaos around him. The owner of the voice grabbed his arms and held them in a firm but gentle grip. “I’m right here with you. You are not alone.” “Can hardly m-move.” His voice slurred. “C-can’t see anything.” “You’ve been in an accident. I’m an EMT with the ambulance squad,” the velvety voice calmly explained. “You can’t see well because we’re under a tarp. Hold still, okay?” “‘K.” A small light flickered at the edge of his vision. It shone into a bag next to him. Penlight. “You’re restrained to a board. It’s to keep your head from moving and causing more injury.” She continued to talk to him. The voice reached down somewhere inside him, calming and peaceful, so he focused on it. A glow from spotlights on the outside lit whatever covered them. The shadow gave the woman the appearance of a halo—like an angel.

Who- Well if you've been following me at all you probably know all my deep dark secrets but here you go. I'm a multi-genre author who is both traditionally and independently published. I'm a wife to an amazing man with who I'll be celebrating 27 years of marriage this May 14th. I'm a mom to one son and grandma to 3 grands. Two boys and a girl. I'm a full-time employee at a medical office but only for 60 more days then I retire. I'm a woman of faith, an avid reader, and besties with my younger sister.
Interests- Hmm, reading and writing definitely. But I also dabble in painting, photography, and jewelry making. I have a guitar which after I retire am determined to pick up again, though I'm not looking forward to developing the callouses, can you say ouch. I enjoy cooking, camping, and hiking.
Network- Professionally I'm member of RWA and NJRW and Savvy Authors.. My Wild Rose Press family is amazing and supportive. On the personal front my family especially above mentioned husband. My church family and crazy co-workers. I have several Beta readers so a shout out to Noemi, Paula, and Amber.
Desk- My desk is everywhere. I have a dedicated space in my office/library but love being outdoors. My deck and camper are often places to work. My camper was purchased because it has a bunkhouse which doubles as an office/guest room. Sometimes I'm messy. Sometimes I'm neat. Always have post-its. A whiteboard calendar to keep my blogs and events organized.
Outrageous- I can make weird animal noises. My best are an elephant and I do a great dog and cat fight. Also, if you didn't know the difference between a sheep and a goat- I'm the girl who can show you.
Window- I'm so blessed to live where I do. Behind my house is the Appalachian Trail in front, a lake. Birds including hawks and bald eagles are frequent overhead. Bears, and bobcats can sometimes be seen passing through, oh and the foxes? You haven't heard anything until the set up shop and begin the wooing of a mate.

Interests I love being outside, so every day I go for a hike (sounded more athletic than a long walk), bike ride, or cross-country ski. When it’s stormy or icy, I’ll spend time doing crafts like painting or making earrings. Of course, I love to read. I also make a point of staying in touch with my sisters, kids, and friends. They’ll join me outside or we’ll phone or video chat.
Network I have a strong support network of other moms, other doctors who are my colleagues, and fellow writers I met in person through Soul Mate Publishing. I connect to readers mainly through social media – mostly Twitter and Facebook.
Desk I use a laptop to write so I’m very mobile. I set up “an office” with a comfy lounger under an umbrella outside in the summer and in the spring and fall when the temperature and weather co-operates. Inside in the winter, I sit on a big, comfy chair by the window where there is lots of sunlight.
Outrageous talent I can find the positive in any situation – no matter what it is.
Window what’s outside yours? We still have lots of snow right now. I always see squirrels and rabbits running through the garden. The temperatures are warming up and today I heard a robin sing, so hopefully, spring is on its way! The previous owner planted gorgeous pink and purple azaleas and pink spirea plants on either side of my front door. They bloom in early spring, and I can’t wait for the spectacular colour!

When the team spirals out of control and Danni and Trey get caught up in a drug scandal, things heat up on and off the ice. It’s a whole new game plan…Behind the Bench.

A Peek Through Author Kimberly Baer's Scary Window

Who: Mother, daughter, fiancée, sister, friend, author, editor, cat-lover. Oh—and brand-new grandma!
(That’s so recent, I keep forgetting! Or maybe I’m in denial that, yes, I am that old.)
Interests: Power-walking, word puzzles, reading. I love stories with a quirky premise. For instance, the novel I just finished reading, The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V. E. Schwab, is about a girl who makes a
deal with the devil and ends up being forgotten by everyone she meets. The author did a superb job of
examining all facets of that situation.
Network: I’m an editor by trade, and many of my fellow editors are also writers. We started a chat room
at work, Invisible Ink, where we communicate about the writing craft. I also have some steadfast beta
readers and an enthusiastic street team to help me spread the word about my books.
Desk: Messy, with occasional bouts of tidiness. My desk is a garden that won’t stop sprouting weeds.
Papers, books, file folders, sticky notes, index cards, newspaper clippings, potato chip crumbs. When it
gets to the point where I can’t find things, I get the hoe out and give it a good weeding. (Wish somebody
would invent mulch for computer desks.)
Outrageous: I can recite the first nine stanzas of Edgar Allen Poe’s poem The Raven. (See “Window,”
below. Is there a theme developing here???)
Window: What’s outside my window? Birds, dozens of them! And they’re huge—I think they’re vultures.
They travel in a flock; there’s never just one or two. It’s either zero or forty. Did you ever see the Alfred
Hitchcock movie The Birds? That’s what I think of every time I go out for a walk. If those birds ever
decide to swoop down and attack me, I won’t stand a chance.

Welcome to the Campfire, Daryl Devore
Camping season is upon us. My next trip is in 33 days, not that I'm counting (insert eyeroll). But whether real or virtual the campfire is about community. I hope here you'll find a place to kick back for a few. Learn about new authors and books. Maybe tell us about your favorite time in a tent or RV.
Picture
But for now my guest is patiently waiting. Hi, Daryl. What can I offer you?
Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa with 3 mini marshmallows and a hint of cinnamon.
Yummy! That sounds delish. I think I'll join you. And while those marshmallows get gooey, tell us, have you ever camped, or as I call what I do, Glamp. Tell us about your camping experience. What made it special to you.
My final year of my undergrad, we went camping – in February – in Northern Ontario. They divided us into groups and did leadership skills and my group did awesomely. Which as it turns out was not a good thing. They drove out to the wilderness, dropped us off, and said we had a week to get home. We had an experienced guide, but he was only there to help if we got into a life-threatening situation. Things he did not consider to be life-threatening
1. The ice broke on the lake and a student fell in. Yes, we got him out.
2. Another student stepped into an unsprung bear trap that didn’t snap because the snow was so deep.
3. Camping outside in tents in -40.
4. My dislocated shoulder. Long story!
And lastly
5. The diva who shoved her hand out her tent the first morning and wailed that her moisturizer had frozen.
We all survived!
LOL, that is some experience. I camped once in Minnesota when it was ten degrees. Nah, minus 40 sorry. I wouldn't even take 2HOOTs in that. Tell us about your latest project. What book are you talking about today, and what’s on the horizon.
My first attempt at a medieval fantasy romance – The Last Dragon. Someone mentioned I should write a book with a dragon and then one started flying around in my head. Currently, I am working on 9?? different projects. I received my rights back on some books and I am getting them ready to indie pub, plus I am switching my alter-writer ego from Victoria Adams – to me. Only one name to keep track of – plus… no that’s enough for now.
I'm a huge fan of dragon stories and I loved this one. If you're interested you can read my review here www.goodreads.com/review/show/3835814416
Do you have a tagline? Life Motto?
My writer motte – Picasso wasn’t always Picasso. At one point, he was just Pablo, painting weird pictures. What it means is – don’t follow the rules. Break out of the box. Ignore all those people who say – you can’t do that!
I love that. Naysayers begone. Daryl, how long did it take you from conception to publication?
This book took years. Several things happened to cause that – but the biggest is I evolved from a hot romance author to a sweet one and it is because of this book. A scorching romance did not fit the characters.
Are there any mentors, authors, or books?
Shout outs to Viv, Cynthia, Jenna, and Mart. Authors friends who have been there with ideas and help for many years.
What does literary success look like to you?
One fan letter. The first book I wrote, I got an email from a reader who loved it. That was the success I needed.
Life Hacks for Authors. Do you have any tips, tricks, or anything you specialize in that you would share with others? I’m also interested in how you have been managing your life and writing with COVID-19.
Life hack with covid – do what you gotta do. If ignoring your writing gets you through this – then stop. Not writing does not make you not-a-writer. No one should condemn you because you are taking a break. This is a bizarre moment in time and some will find solace in writing, and some with not.
Now the fun questions
What is your favorite mug or teacup?
A friend gave me a hot chocolate mug that says – Stay Weird. The words are upside down until you drink from the mug. I love my mug.
Teach me something I don’t know in two sentences.
The marital art secret to breaking a board – is not to strike the front of the board. Focus on the other side of the board, so that your hand/fist/elbow/foot will go through the board to strike the target. (I have a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do)
What’s your favorite cartoon, and why?
Road Runner. No idea. I just love the little dude. Beep! Beep!
Favorite childhood book?
Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild. The copy in my elementary school The Last Dragonlibrary had only been taken out by me. We had to sign the card. I filled the entire card.
What’s your go-to coffee order?
I’m that person. What person? That one person who dislikes coffee. I’ve never drank a cup of it. It drives servers in morning restaurants crazy. They keep trying to fill my mug.
Daryl, thank you so much for stopping by my fire today. Would you please leave us with a bit about your book and where we can find out more about you?

A Peek Through the Window with Alice Renaud

Who I’m a half-French, half-Welsh author of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance, based in London. I have been writing and publishing short stories since 2008, but my first fantasy romance novel, A Merman’s Choice, was published in 2019. My day job is compliance specialist for a pharmaceutical company. I escape into my world of shape-shifting merfolk, time-traveling warlocks, and space cowboys in the evening and weekends.
Interests I enjoy watching fantasy and sci-fi shows/movies with my husband. I love reading, fantasy is still my first love but I also read contemporary fiction and historical non-fiction. I’m a big fan of birdwatching – the natural world has been a life-saver during our interminable UK lockdowns.
Network I wouldn’t produce any books without the support of my publisher, Ric Savage at Black Velvet Seductions, my editor Laurie Sanders, and my fellow BVS authors. They’re a fantastic bunch. Shout out also to my husband – he’s my tech support and helps me out with all my computer issues, videos, etc.
Desk My desk is a small, cluttered table in the corner of the dining room. But I do a fair bit of my writing on the sofa in the living room – much more comfortable!
Outrageous I don’t have any special talents I’m afraid unless you count a detailed knowledge of the best way to prepare an altar for Communion – I’m a lay assistant in my local Anglican (Episcopalian) church. Sadly we have been in lockdown more or less since March 2020, so not many opportunities for fun at the moment, but hopefully things will improve with the rollout of the vaccines.
Window outside my window is my small garden. I love watching the birds on the feeder and in the birdbath. The lilac and buddleia add a welcome dose of colour in spring and summer.

This Week's Peek is Vicki Batman.

Interests besides writing: What do you read or hobbies? I read lots of mysteries, thrillers, historical romance, contemporary romance, women’s fiction. I like to embroider, stitch needlepoint, play mahjong, Jazzercise, do yoga, and take long walks.
Network or support system: I have my family. Girlfriends. Book club, Workout friends. Mahjong and yoga friends. Lots of cousins. Local writing chapter and writing groups.
Desk description: A nice, dark-stained rectangular sits perpendicular to my window so I can see the front yard and the street. I have four loaded bookcases behind me. On the desktop, front and center, is my laptop. To my right, pads of ruled sticky notes and yellow mechanical pencils. To my left is my calendar book. Also on top is a standup file, a Bluetooth keyboard, and odds and ends in a vintage wire inbox.
Outrageous talent or something fun like that: I make great queso! In a crockpot, melt Velveeta with two cans of Rotel tomatoes. Chop up a bunch of green onions, two tomatoes, cilantro, and add to the crockpot. Stir and then add a small can of evaporated milk. Melt till smooth and creamy. Serve with chips.
Window What's outside yours: I look out at two large red oak trees. Squirrels scamper about and even put their paws on the window to peek inside. I can see the mailman drop letters in the mail chute. Amazon leaves packages by the front door. Beyond the trees is the street where many vehicles go by.

Today's Peek is Paranormal Writer Judith Sterling.

Interests I love to travel, watch classic movies, and investigate the paranormal.
Network My family and friends are my support system, and I’ve met many wonderful authors through my publisher, The Wild Rose Press. As for social media, you can find me here:
Desk My desk is in an alcove of our dining room; basically, Grand Central Station. Now that my teenaged boys are home attending school online (thanks to COVID), I need to use super focus to stay on track.
Outrageous I can juggle, and I have perfect pitch. I’ve studied Swedish, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, and Egyptian hieroglyphs. I love cold weather, and the sun is my nemesis. (See why I had to leave Florida?) I’ve also experienced the paranormal my entire life. And just to make things more outrageous…in my twenties, I was a member of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and worked as a volunteer for Professor John E. Mack, a Harvard professor who conducted research on alien abductions.
Window Out my window, I can see some of Salem’s historic homes: two from the 18th-century and two from the 19th. Because it’s winter at the moment, I also see the remnants of our last snowfall.
Book Blurb
Margaret, Lady Ravenwood, is trapped in a loveless marriage and firmly entrenched in the medieval world. Along comes Griffin Nightshade, a historian from the future whose soul resonates with hers. He persuades her to return with him to the 1950s, but heeding her heart means courting danger from a curse that could spell her doom.
Haunted by his parents' sudden deaths, Griffin knows all too well the pain born of love lost. He guards his emotions, but Margaret delves deep and goes straight to the soul. She's hard to resist…and harder to set free.
The heart's desire and history's demands don't always agree. Yet true love is eternal.

Judith Sterling is an award-winning author whose love of history and passion for the paranormal infuse everything she writes. Whether penning medieval romance (The Novels of Ravenwood) or young adult paranormal fantasy (the Guardians of Erin series), her favorite themes include true love, destiny, time travel, healing, redemption, and finding the hidden magic which exists all around us. She loves to share that magic with readers and whisk them far away from their troubles, particularly to locations in the British Isles. Her nonfiction books, written under Judith Marshall, have been translated into multiple languages. She has an MA in linguistics and a BA in history, with a minor in British Studies. Born in that sauna called Florida, she craved cooler climes, and once the travel bug bit, she lived in England, Scotland, Sweden, Wisconsin, Virginia, and on the island of Nantucket. She currently lives in Salem, Massachusetts with her husband and their identical twin sons.
