Book Review: Our Last Night by Taylor Adams
Our Last Night by Taylor Adams
My Rating: ★★★★☆
Dan doesn’t really believe in ghosts, god, or the paranormal, even though he’s the host of a popular ghost-hunting show. But when his fiancée passes away suddenly in an accident, he desperately wants to believe in something.
He seeks out a notoriously haunted Russian firearm, which is apparently cursed and has caused every previous owner kill

Writing with a Group
I’m currently running a promotion for Quality DNA, and it’s going pretty well. Even so, the whole process is a bit nerve-wracking—I still haven’t really gotten a handle on ads.
I’m pretty excited that my local writing group has decided to reintroduce their novel-writing small groups. Writing can be a pretty isolating activity, so having a group of people to support each other and discuss the

The Glitch by Ramona Finn
My Rating: ★★★★☆
Lib has been rejected from the Norm, a utopian society of the future. Her memories have been wiped, and she’s been left in the barren desert to fend for herself. A clan of rogues—people who don’t live in the Norm—take her in as she tries to uncover her past and her purpose.

Book Review: Numbers Raging by Rebecca Rode
The delay between this review and the previous one is totally artificial. In all actuality, as soon as I finished Numbers Ignite, I started reading Numbers Raging. So, if I get the stories of the two novels a little mixed up, it’s because the two books have kind of run together in my mind.
But enough with the excuses, and on to the review!

Winter Writing Update
The beginning of the year is always exciting because it’s a fresh start and an excellent time to make some goals. I started the year off with a bang, announcing my next novel, Mental Contact. I just finished a final edit on another manuscript, which is now ready for a professional edit, and have started the first round of edits for the manuscript I wrote during NaNoWriMo. Since I don’t really

Book Review: Numbers Ignite by Rebecca Rode
Numbers Game ended with a teaser for the second book in the series, Numbers Ignite. And, if you’ve read my review for the first novel, you’ll know I didn’t immediately pick up the second installment because I wanted to read something more ‘adult.’ Yeah, that didn’t turn out so well. I read a little bit of a lot of different things, and after flailing through most of Pandemic, I decided to grab a

Announcing My Next Novel: Mental Contact
Happy New Year! I want to start off 2018 with a bang, and what better way to do it than an announcement? So, without further ado:
I’d like to share with you my upcoming novel, Mental Contact!
I see things that aren't really there. Well, not things. Just her. Lola.
Stranded on a small planetary system, gazing at the stars is the only thing that brings Jake any joy. When he was a child, he

Holidays in Science Fiction
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I wanted to spread some cheer today since I’m celebrating with lots of family.
Coming up to the holiday got me thinking about traditions—both those practiced widely by society and personal traditions carried out amongst just our closest loved ones. Growing up, we always drank hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows and candy canes while decorating the tree.

Book Review: Pandemic by A. G. Riddle
Usually, I don’t write reviews for books I don’t finish, but I have read HUNDREDS of pages of this novel, so I feel qualified to say a thing or two about it. Honestly, I should have stopped reading it a while ago, but just haven’t found another novel I want to start.
Most of the books I put down before finishing, it’s because the story doesn’t really grab me. This usually happens when I start

Ultimate Gift Guide
I’ve been wracking my brain all day about what the heck I’m going to get my loved ones this Christmas. Generally, I hate gift guides. Women’s magazines always have spreads on what to get your fashionable lady friends, beauty gurus recommend the trendiest makeup items, techies find gadgets every programmer would love, and book lovers recommend books.
I mean, feel free to give books as gifts.
