The story from the child found abandoned at 5-days old. From article, 'When I feel the weight of the odds against an infant alone in China, I am at a loss. My life as I know it never should have happened. Indeed, the Chinese would call it "lucky" that I even made it breathing to the orphanage. It is not that my life should not have happened while others' should; still, it is pretty obvious that among 7 billion humans on a pale blue dot, this one of all should not be inhaling and exhaling.' #China #Adoption #Kunming

Reflections from a Chinese orphanage

Once a five-day-old orphan in China, Josh Owens returns to the children's home from which he was adopted two decades ago. 'God was there not as a perfect balance of ying and yang, not as luck or human sufficiency,' Owens writes of being found as an infant in a park. 'God was there as He is now her

When I got my first position in Human Resources 15 yrs ago, my manager told me I wore my heart on my sleeve and needed to stop it. Guess what, dude? I never stopped and it's served me well. I like who I am. /finally

When Another Mother Raises The Baby You Gave Birth To
www.huffingtonpost.com
I'm sitting on my couch, in Hawaii, nursing my 12-week-old son while my 3-year-old plays with his dad at the playground. My 17-year-old is in Virginia, getting ready for bed or asleep, most likely in the home of his family who has raised him since birth.

Timeline Photos
My daughter, pictured in the middle, was in Changsha, China orphanage for at least 3 years. She came home with us in 2012. She has never asked for anything but she wants to connect with these two girls who were her 'best friends'. I'm told they were adopted together and are living in Illinois. That would be such a blessing. She is hoping to make contact with them. She loves and misses them. They were a big part of her life. Any help would be appreciated. Please share. with Zhangshui Atwood in Twin Falls, ID.

You dont know me, but if youre a dad (or prospective dad) considering adopting a child with Down syndrome from China, I think I know you. I think I was you. Xinran interview: Buy Me the Sky author on why her book is inspired by China's one-child policy

On my way to Xinrans flat, I walk across Hyde Park on a spring day. Tourists from all over the world are pootling about, walking and cycling in the sun. If Xinran were here, I think, shed somehow end up learning all their life stories between one side of the park and the other.
