Excerpt: Going down the stairs, Kaitlyn felt a little ball of need that burst to life in the pit of her stomach that could only mean one thing — she was physically attracted to Gabriel Chase, Private Investigator. Seriously? She gave herself a little shake. No way. She could not be attracted to this man. Sure, the man was hotter than hot, and had a body designed purely to give a woman hours and hours of female pleasure. But if he dated her sister, like Dr. Ramsey told her, he must be operating on less than half his brain power, and have no sexual scruples. Why? Because that was Abby's kind of man — eye candy on her arm on campus, no pressure from him for a real relationship, and like her, only in it for the sex.
Gabriel Chase was an amazing specimen of masculinity, who could undoubtedly get any woman he wanted. She wanted a man who only had eyes for her. And if he were the least bit attracted to her, it was probably for a one-night-stand. And if there was one thing Kaitlyn didn't want, it was a fling. She wanted to settle down with a man who was both a lover and a best friend — someone who was in it for the long haul. She wanted happily ever after.
Compared to her sister, Kaitlyn was a Girl Scout with a badge in chastity. Okay, she wasn't completely chaste, thanks to Mitch Bargo, her no-good ex-fiancé, who'd turned her world upside down. And not in a good way. Just the thought of Mitch sent her stomach swirling and her teeth gritting.
Kaitlyn got into her car, plopping down in the driver's seat, slamming the door, and then locking it. As she turned the ignition on, a thought sizzled through her brain. Knowing Abby as well as she did, she was convinced that Abby dumped Gabe. As if she enjoyed it, her sister always had to be the one who broke up the non-relationship. Abby didn't have relationships. She hated the thought of being with any man more than a couple of weeks. So if Dr. Ramsey was correct and Abby dated Gabe for a month, it was highly unusual. For Abby, boredom always set in, and it was time to say good-bye. Abby had a way of breaking up with a man that didn't include sensitivity or empathy. The harder they took the break-up, the more she enjoyed it.
Her mind raced with all the possibilities, and one of them went on repeat. She couldn't get rid of the thought, fear, or whatever it was. What if Abby used her typical lack of finesse to break up with Gabe and she angered him so much that he made her disappear? If a private investigator specialized in finding people, he could be a master in knowing how to make people vanish. Right?

#Interview Backwards Compatible by Pete Clark
Pete likes writing, animals, potato chips, and cheese. Midnight Riders is his first published novel, although he can also proudly say he finally finished Helix Crashing, the fantasy novel he has been working on for over a decade. In addition, he has written Across the Barren Landscape, a collection of linked Western short stories. He also writes plays, both dramatic and comedic.
When he is not writing, Pete tends to ignore everyone around him and obsess over sports.

At any given time do you work on only one story at a time and maybe plot out the next one or are there many ideas racing around your head?
I start out with the dream of working with one thing, but whenever I am working on one thing, I have the best idea in the world for something else. Something completely different. As a result, I have about 20-30 docs open at any given time. Therefore, I accomplish very little.
2. Is there a genre you haven't written in but would like to? Or wish you could write in?
I would write more horror.
3. Do you add an element of romantic suspense in your stories?
As little as I can get away with. It depends on the stories and characters, but I certainly don’t try to add it. In fact, this is probably the first thing I wrote with even a hint of romance.
4. Say you have unlimited funds: What kind of writing office/cottage would you create for yourself?
First off, I would build a medieval castle, Conwy-style. I would take that castle and smash it into the cliff face in Sorrento. I would build a random balcony and chill out there, writing.
5. If you could turn your novel into a TV show, which novel or series would you do? Where would it be set? Network TV (ABC, NBC, CBS), Cable (AMC, BBC, Lifetime) or Premium Cable (HBO, Showtime, Starz)?
This book would make a good comedy. The characters lend themselves to an ongoing storyline, but I would probably hate whomever they cast. It should go on HBO, but then there would have to be random sex.

6. Finally, tell us about your latest release!
I'm currently working on the follow up to this book!
Not too long ago, in a town that, depending on your current location, is either not super far or actually quite close…
It is a time of chaotic hormones.
Two nerdy gents home for winter break have discovered a female gamer at a midnight release.
During the break, the gamer trio manages to reveal the game’s secret boss, a hidden enemy with enough power to destroy anything in its path.
Pursued by other gamers who want to be the first to beat this boss, George and Katie race to level up, and, in so doing, restore decency and sexual activity to their personal galaxy…

Excerpt:
“These graphics suck,” George says and I look back at the screen. We’re standing in the middle of the Estate, colorful orbs quivering ahead of us. We each have to choose our starting advantage. Waterfalls shimmer in the distance and the sunlight streams over multicolored stones in the courtyard.
“Amateurs,” Lanyon concurs. “I mean, they couldn’t have five waterfalls?”
“Your ironic wit is mind blowing, but choose your damn orbs,” I tell them. I consider. Magic, defense, offense, stealth, and charisma. I always go for magic as a black mage, but I wonder if a druid needs something else. Screw it. I need charisma in real life, too.
“Charisma?” Lanyon asks. “No one ever picks charisma.”
“We’re a party of a thief, druid, and a bard. We’re screwed regardless.”
“You two underestimate the mighty power of my lute,” George argues.
“Did you start with charisma?” Lanyon asks.
“Hell, no. I have charisma in spades. I started with stealth.”
“Great. A stealthy bard,” I sigh.
“She’s right,” Lanyon concedes. “We’re screwed.”
However, it actually isn’t bad at all at first. We power through the Estate and make it to the Yobanaria Dale with no resurrections and all at level ten. I’m impressed. George hasn’t actually fought anything, but he has some pretty awe-inspiring charm mastery already. I think I might have a serious crush. He seals the deal when he buffs my hailstorm spell without even being asked.
“Can you guys watch El Thiefelo? My mom wants me to eat supper,” Lanyon says.
“Yeah, we’ve got it,” I tell him. “The first boss is in the elven ruins anyway, so we should grind a bit. I think he’s a twelve.”
George and I explore the Dale, taking out bats and Joba spores. It’s fairly quiet, except for when we combo with his charms and my spells and he yells out, “Eat lute, bitch,” but it’s nice. We work well, almost inherently understanding each other. I’ve never been able to play this effectively with anyone. I try not to think about his eyes. Stupid boys, being cute and stuff.
By the time Lanyon comes back, we’re all at level 12, although Lanyon leveled up just by standing by a door while we played. Still, we are ready to take on Balsa the Proud. As a black mage, it took me about nine seconds. Trees don’t like fire. However, druids don’t have the same level of black magic and all elemental magic is weakened by the need to draw from the elements nearby. Sadly, trees seem to avoid storing fire runes in their villages. I expect this to be a little more challenging. It might even take fifteen seconds.
“First boss. Also known as the freebie bitch to sucker the young folks into a false sense of security,” Lanyon announces as he runs into the center of Balsa’s lair. The cinema plays and then, in a moment of pure absurdity, El Thiefelo is squished as Balsa steps on him.
“Can someone revive me?” Lanyon whines.

#CoverReveal for Ultimate Fear by @KristineMason7

Chicago detective Jessica Donavan will never stop looking for her missing daughter. Her obsession has destroyed her marriage, but the search is the only thing that helps keep her sane and her mind off of everything she’s lost—her husband and her baby girl. When she uncovers a string of unsolved disappearances and reappearances of a number of baby boys, Jessica turns to her soon to be ex, Dante Russo, a former Navy SEAL turned investigator for the private agency, CORE, to help her fit together the pieces in this perplexing puzzle. But as Dante helps her, she realizes just how much she still craves his support—and his touch.
Dante is still in love with his wife and would do anything to have her back in his life again. He’s been miserable since she left him to deal with the grief over their daughter’s abduction, never understanding how much he grieves as well. When Jessica tells him about the case she’s working, he jumps at the chance to take part in her investigation. He's hoping not only to save their marriage and ease his personal pain over the loss of their daughter, but also to stop a serial kidnapper from taking another victim.
As Jessica and Dante work side by side, pregnant women begin to turn up missing or dead, and they start to uncover the consequences of another woman's unfathomable grief. The childless mother doesn’t just want a baby. She wants a newborn straight from the womb.
And when forced to confront the dark and twisted perversion of a mother's obsession, can Jessica and Dante find their lives again…or merely more death?
About Kristine:I didn’t pick up my first romance novel until I was in my late twenties. Immediately hooked, I read a bazillion books before deciding to write one of my own. After the birth of my first son I needed something to keep my mind from turning to mush, and Sesame Street wasn’t cutting it. While that first book will never see the light of day, something good came from writing it. I realized my passion and found a career I love.
When I’m not writing contemporary romances and dark, romantic suspense novels (or reading them!) I’m chasing after my four kids and two neurotic dogs.

Excerpt: “But it had been big. It had been a life-changing, rapid moment that had altered the little raven-haired girl forever. For better or worse, it was one of the moments that had made her into the person she was today, permanently changed her outlook on life and wiped away the moisture behind her young ears.
She had been only twelve years old. The backs of her ears should have stayed wet for a while yet, like most twelve year old’s do. But her greenness had been swept away nonetheless, and there was nothing she could do about it.
And it wasn’t fair.
But that’s life, baby, and that shit ain’t always fair.”

#Interveiw with @MadhuriBlaylock for The Boy

She's currently working on The Sanctum trilogy and hopes one day soon, everyone is walking around with copies of The Girl and The Boy in their pocket or on their Kindle.
She wants to get a goat and a burro, but since she lives in the city, will settle for some chickens.
To learn more about her, you can follow her blog, follow her on Twitter or like her on Facebook. She's totally chatty so drop her a line any time.
1. At any given time do you work on only one story at a time and maybe plot out the next one or are there many ideas racing around your head?
Right now, while I’m working on The Sanctum Trilogy, I’ve had a couple of other stories bang around in my head, so I’ve started notebooks for them and whenever an idea strikes, I jot it down. The difficult part is to keep those ideas separate and distinct from what I’m currently working on, not let them somehow weave their way into The Sanctum. So far I’ve been pretty successful.
2. Is there a genre you haven't written in but would like to? Or wish you could write in?
I’m fascinated by erotica, but not sure I could actually write it. I worry that after a while I might feel like I’m writing sex just because it’s erotica and that’s what I’m supposed to do, but not because it is a good place for a sex scene. Does that make sense? I also worry I might not be very good at it.
But perhaps a romance novel, where I’m free to be as romantic and sappy as I like?
My mom was a HUGE fan of Harlequin romances - in her bathroom there was a basket full of the books. As a kid, I would sneak them all the time and they ALL had them same formula: girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love, girl and boy break up, and then girl and boy get back together and everyone is happy. Not sure my romance novel would follow the same formula but I’m certain it would be just as addictive.
3. Do you add an element of romantic suspense in your stories?
There is romance in my current trilogy, quite a bit of it in fact, but I wouldn’t qualify the romance as suspenseful. That said, there are some romantic elements in book III that I’m certain will surprise folks that have read books I and II.
4. Say you have unlimited funds: What kind of writing office/cottage would you create for yourself?
I would love a Tuscan villa, close enough to Florence that I could zip in and out of town when necessary, but removed from the hustle and bustle. I would love it to sit atop a hill, looking down on a small village and all of my olive trees while I work on my next book. Days would be spent writing (and fixing everything that breaks around my old villa) and nights would be with family and friends, eating excellent food, drinking loads of wine, and toasting to the good life.
5. If you could turn your novel into a TV show, which novel or series would you do? Where would it be set? Network TV (ABC, NBC, CBS), Cable (AMC, BBC, Lifetime) or Premium Cable (HBO, Showtime, Starz)?
It would be called The Sanctum and its home would definitely be HBO or Showtime. That way I could be assured the quality would be stellar and I could pull in some of the stars from my dream casting (emphasis on the word dream) of the books:
Dev: Lupita Nyong’o
Wyatt: Nicholas Hoult
Ryker: Charles Michael Davis
Jools: Emma Stone
Darby: Dakota Fanning
Clive Owen: Josiah
Angelina Jolie: Sam
Carter: Michael Kelly
Ava: Kate Winslet
Philip: Jeffrey Wright
Maya: Lisa Bonet
Luc Arsenault: Gaspard Ulliel
Abha: Deepika Padukone
Zoe Kravitz: Louella “Lou” Bosch
Max: Logan Lerman
Darvin: Ben Barnes
Claude Grayson: Djimon Hounsou
Jedda: Vincent Cassell
Ian McKellan: Pius
6. Finally, tell us about your latest release!
In THE GIRL, Madhuri Blaylock introduced readers to the world of The Sanctum, one corrupted by greed and savagery and hellbent on achieving a single goal: destroying the prophesied hybrid. When one of its most celebrated warriors questioned his allegiances, age-old secrets were unveiled and violence erupted. The journey becomes more perilous and intense as the trilogy surges forward with THE BOY.
Can you cross the plains of death, collect every piece of your soul and make it back to the land of the living?
And if you complete the journey, will your loved ones welcome your return?
The Ramyan have been answering such questions since the creation of The Sanctum. A mysterious sect of Magicals, haunting the blank spaces of time and memory, they serve no one but themselves and their higher purpose. They exist on a plane removed from earthly matters, shifting easily between the living and the dead, moving in time to the beat of their own drummer.

Dev and Wyatt change all of that when the prophesied hybrid lands on the steps of Rinshun Palace, seeking help for the wounded Class A Warrior. That decision alters lives and sets old agendas back on course. But at what cost to Dev and Wyatt? And does that really even matter?
Excerpt:
The clearing in the park still hummed with magic. Her magic. And her scent. It was why he kept coming back to the same spot every night, just for a whiff. Then he could go about his business, whatever that might be.
Darvin Lucius Jefferson was one hundred and ten, going on seventeen. He was a wealthy, bored teenager who became a wealthy, somewhat bored vampire. There were a few things in this life that brought him joy, piqued his interest: from the very first day he saw her, Jools Clayworth, and as of nine days ago, that stunning thing her brother was running around with before he died.
Of course, Darvin had no idea whether or not Wyatt perished subsequent to his ministrations, nor did he care. He simply assumed the too-good looking, sanctimonious warrior was dead, for his wound was hideous and he seemed to be breathing on borrowed time. Darvin had told the pretty thing as much that night, then he'd returned to his perch atop the Dakota and watched her strap the warrior to her back and escape into nothingness.
What a feat that had been.
One moment she was there, in all her stunning beauty and tortured agony, the next she was gone.
Poof.
As if she'd never been there at all.
Darvin went to the spot that night, less to follow her than simply explore. It was glamoured to avoid human detection but he found it easily, having watched the warrior and his beautiful best friend, Ryker Morrison, comb the area many a time over the past year. But try as he might, Darvin could spot nothing to hint at an escape hatch or portal. Whatever the pretty thing had used to vanish into thin air, it was long gone, hidden from prying eyes. All that lingered was her scent, that hypnotizing, intoxicating essence of her that Darvin wished he could bottle and keep hidden in his pocket. Away from Darby.
Darby Winthrop.
The one and only.
The dark queen of New York.
The southern belle from hell.
His maker.

Interview with Stephanie Burkhart for Sunrise Over Brasov

FIND ME ON THE WEB AT:WEBSITETWITTERFACEBOOKGOODREADSYOUTUBE CHANNELPINTEREST
Question: At any given time do you work on only one story at a time and maybe plot out the next one or are there many ideas racing around in your head?
Steph: I used to be able to write two stories at a time, but those days are gone. I have a ton of ideas in my head. I usually write out the plots in my notebooks so I can go back to the idea when time affords. I generally write one story at a time now, due to time constraints. My boys are older and involved in outside/real life activities as am I. It's a tad frustrating because I want to get it all out now.
Question: Is there a genre you haven't written in, but would like to? Or wish you could write in?
Steph: I wish I could write a sweeping historical that takes place in the 1600-1700's, but sadly, I don't have much of a historical voice. I've written paranormals and steampunks that take place in the 1800's, but I wouldn't want to go any further back. I love reading historicals though.
Question: Do you add an element of romantic suspense to your stories?
Steph: I try to. What I like about romantic suspense are the nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat moments because a character's true nature is usually brought out then. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite spices. It sits on the shelf next to my Lowry's garlic salt with parsley. J
Question: Say you have unlimited funds. What kind of writing office/cottage would you create for yourself?
Steph: I'd like to have a place next to water; a river, a lake, or the ocean. I love being near water. It's refreshing. Its nature at it's purest. Flowers and trees grow near water. It attracts wild life and birds. Quiet, natural scenes such as the ones being near water inspires, usually keeps the creative juices flowing.
Question: If you could turn your novel into a TV show, which novel or series would you do? What network?
Steph: I would love to turn the Moldavian Moon series into a show. There's a lot of implied dark romance in the setting next to the Black Sea in the 1800's. There's a lot of suspenseful elements, too. It's a period piece so I would lean toward the premium channels to produce it like HBO and Showtime.
Question: Tell us about your latest release.
Steph: In "Sunrise Over Brasov," Rosa has been kidnapped by Clement, an evil werewolf. He knows she's a virgin witch capable of powerful white magic. Michael, Rosa's beloved, sets out to rescue her, but soon discovers things aren't as they seem. They make it to the vampire fortress, Rasnov, where they have to make a stand. Can Michael win over Rosa's heart again?
Blurb: Rosa Getzi lives a life of intrigue at Poiana Brasov with Clement, a werewolf, and Cassandra, the witch. Her past doesn't matter to her – until she discovers what it holds.
Prince Michael Sigmaringen joins his sister-in-law, Caroline, and the vampire prince, Darius, in a daring rescue, igniting Rosa's desire to find her family. However, all is not as it appears. Rickard, Rosa's friend, escapes with her. Clement will go to any lengths to get Rosa and Rickard back.
At Darius' fortress, Michael soon discovers Rickard is a new breed of werewolf – one who can control the change, and Clement hopes to exploit Rickard's abilities.
Michael's courage, strengths, and convictions will be tested like never before. Can Michael and Rosa find true happiness and the rid the lupine haunting of the Sigmaringens once and for all?
Excerpt:

Rosa's breath jammed in her throat. He looked familiar. He smelled familiar.
"Rosa, it's Michael. Let's go."
"I'm not going anywhere with you."
A frown set against his rugged features. "I don't have time to argue -- now put on a warm dress and cloak."
"No." She was not going anywhere with him despite the relief in his voice.
He sighed and shut the door. Moving with fluid grace, he crossed the room, jerked the door to her closet open and threw the items he wanted her to wear on her bed. "Get. Dressed."
"No." She was determined not to budge, despite the danger outside.
"Rosa, we're leaving."
"I'm staying."
"Why would you want to stay? Clement kidnapped you."
Disconcerted, she pointedly glanced away from his hard stare. What did he mean by kidnapped? Clement didn't keep her behind bars and feed her only bread and water. Rosa could even go into Brasov to shop as long as Lucien or one of the bodyguards went with her.
"I'm going to take you back to your mother."
Her head snapped toward his direction. Mother? Of course she had a mother -- a family, even -- only she had no recollection of them. So why did her body fill with warmth at the mention of her mother by a man she hadn't seen before, but was hauntingly familiar? She pursed her lips, torn by conflicting emotions.
"Caroline and Darius can't keep this up. Now get dressed or I'll dress you myself."
"You'll find me an unwilling subject."
He drew in a deep breath and raked a hand through his thick ebony hair. "You are exasperating."
"So I've been told."

Stephanie will be awarding a $25 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour.

#Excerpt: Gemini Rising by Jessica O'Gorek @GeminiRising1

I was born in Chesapeake, Virginia on April 19th, 1979. I was raised within the American Indian religion and was taught great respect for the earth and all its living beings. Powwows, sweat lodges, vision quests, you name it, I’ve done it. I was the weird kid who would confront kids on the playground in elementary school when they squished a bug. I would very sincerely tell them what they were doing was morally wrong and then I would pray for the bug to come back as a butterfly in its next life.
I grew up admiring my father, Barry Weinstock, as an author. He took me around the country to different places so he could research and write his Wilderness Survival books. One of his greatest works, “The Path of Power,” was written with a great medicine man, Sunbear.
When I was twelve I started hand writing novels. My first one was two thousand pages. My dad always encouraged me and would rave about my writing. He gave me the confidence I needed to keep writing and follow my dream. My daughter, who is twelve, is currently working on her first novel. I hope to continue the legacy.

Everyone has spare humans-
“Give me my brother back and I’ll go to Saint Augustine’s,” a small voice, that of a child, caught his attention. He could barely make out the shadow of a little girl to his right, huddled behind a larger man with bulging eyes and greasy hair. With more gusto in her voice, she stepped out from behind the man and stood up taller, her jaw set in challenge.
“I said, let my brother Collin go, and I’ll get you into Saint Augustine’s.”
Something about the guts it took to speak to him so defiantly and offer herself for sacrifice intrigued him, but he wasn’t sure if she was even a member of the church.
“You belong to the church?” Onyx watched her head fall and her eyes blur with tears.
“I did…once.” She faltered in her brave facade, something in her broke, the frown on her face turned into a dark grimace.
“So none of you are current members?” A few murmurs of the word “no” and he was satisfied. Their testimonies seemed heartfelt and sincere. He did not feel like entering all of their minds one by one, his ire began to fade and the temperature immediately fell a few degrees. “All right, enough,” he said in defeat. The atmosphere then changed to one of relief and confusion.
“But you didn’t answer our question. We answered yours, but you didn’t answer ours!” A balding man almost cried as he slumped against the wall and rubbed his wrists where his shackles had scoured them raw.
“Why?” A woman beside him chimed in as Onyx turned to leave.
“Give me my brother! I know you have him!” The shy little girl was now screaming accusations at him, her fists pumping the air, but he paid her no mind.
It was always easier to leave out the details. Tork always said there was nothing worse than a room full of hysterical captives. Bad enough to be human, but add in the adrenaline and the fear of the unknown, they became that much more insufferable. He ignored their pleas and timid curses, pulling the door shut with a thud, cutting off their curious stares. Someone yelled out they were hungry and he hesitated a little, trying to remember what hunger was. Ah yes, the need for food. The youngest of his clan, Sapphire, usually fed them three meals a day: canned food, all stolen from the local country store. He had no need for food and didn’t keep any around. Sapphire and some others would simply slip into the stores at night and rob them blind in small quantities.

Some things just can’t be erased.
Simon’s visions of a little girl are the only memories he has. Like an imprint on his heart, the visions cling. Who is she? Who is he for that matter? Tracked and hunted across the world, and in possession of a device that sets him apart from time and space, danger follows him at each turn.
He never meant to drag Tess into his drama. But with one slow, seductive dance in a candlelit nightclub, that’s exactly what he’s done.
Tesla’s own heritage is a mystery in itself. Born of wealth into a corporation with no paper trail, she’s called back to take the helm. But what’s the nature of the business she’s supposed to lead? And how does it connect her to Simon?
Amazon

Tess didn’t know what was real at the moment, but she knew what she wanted it to be. Disregarding their image she turned to her dance partner and faced him. With careful, calculated movements she stood on tiptoe to feel the front of his thighs against hers and she lifted her face to his, lips parted as she settled a delicate kiss on his smooth chin.
His smoky eyes were dark, his lids half hooded as he endured her innocent attempt at seduction. Her heart was pounding and she knew he had to feel it against his chest because she was as close as she could possibly be to him.
With slow determination he reached both of his hands behind her back and laid them on her shoulders as if he were going to pull her away, but at the last second he slid them down the curve of her spine until they came to rest on the small of her back.
“I should not do this,” he whispered, though she wasn’t sure if he was telling her or himself as his large hands spread out across her back, pressing her against him with an all encompassing hold that she had never experienced before in her life.
The air was forced from her lungs in a startled gasp. The moment her mouth opened he found her lips and kissed them with such deep, unrestrained passion that she responded to him on the most primal level of her being and returned to him the most ardent kiss her soul had to offer.
Tess was lost to the world during that moment where there seem to be no time, no place, nothing but the perfect harmony of the Universe for the two of them to exist in; and it was perfection. It was so perfect that when he released her she lost her balance and stumbled on the dance floor.

Enjoy an excerpt:
“I’m Tyler McGee. Everyone calls me Ty. And as far as the nurses are concerned, I’m your big brother.”
“I don’t have a brother.”
He shrugged and smiled. “You do now.”
She eyed him from top to bottom and back up again, deciding it was most likely the killer smile, rather than the lie, that had gained him access to her room.
His grin grew wider. He looked amused at her thorough inspection.
Why had she studied him as though he was the main course at dinner? Her cheeks flushed hot. “Well, Ty, thanks for everything, but I can manage from here.”
Leaning against a countertop, he folded his arms. “Yeah, you’re in great shape. You plan on jogging home with your head injury or just taking it slow and hitchhiking?”
Ah, yes. Now she remembered. He was truly as handsome as the devil but also as cocky. He’d probably only said about ten sentences before she passed out, but if her memory was coming back accurately, most of them were condescending.
“I’ll call a cab,” she snapped.
He chuckled. “In Titus? Sweetheart, where are you from? It sure isn’t around here.”
He strode to the bed then leaned in close as though he was letting her in on a dangerous secret. “In case you haven’t noticed, Titus isn’t exactly a thriving metropolis. We don’t have taxi service or buses. The closest thing to public transportation is Dan the Scooter Man. He makes a fortune driving people home from the bars. You want his number?”
Michelle will be awarding $30 Amazon GC to a randomly drawn winnera Rafflecopter giveawayMichelle Sharp is a romantic suspense author from the Midwest. Although she has a degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University, she finds weaving tales of danger, deception, and love much preferable to reporting the cold, hard facts. Her goal in life? To team resilient, kick-ass heroines with the sexy alpha’s who love them. As most writers probably are, she is an avid reader. Her husband and kids would call it obsessive—but whatever. Her first choice is usually a story with a thrilling combination of danger and love, but any book with a great voice and intriguing story will keep her turning pages well past any reasonable bed-time. Her debut novel will be published with Entangled Ignite in summer of 2014. She is a member of Romance Writers of America and Missouri Romance Writers.

#Interview for World Change by Maggie Mundy @MundyMaggie

Maggie Mundy Author ~ Dark Speculative FictionTwitterPinterestFacebookGoodreads

2. Is there a genre you haven't written in but would like to? Or wish you could write in?I am willing to have a go at almost anything. The first thing I wrote was a one person one act play. It’s still hiding on my computer. I have written horror, epic fantasy, urban fantasy, murder mystery and paranormal romance. At the moment I am writing a romantic comedy with a friend. It is liberating and fun. Hard to keep the dead bodies out of the way though. I have an idea for a woman’s fiction and an erotic science fiction floating around. So many stories so little time.
3. Do you add an element of romantic suspense in your stories?Always. Even in the woman’s fiction I want to write there is going to be an involvement with shady business dealings. Sometimes I write the story so the reader knows who the antagonist is but not the heroine. Other times I like to keep the reader guessing. I love it when your characters have to go up against the odds and are not sure if they will come out the other side in love or alive.
4. Say you have unlimited funds: What kind of writing office/cottage would you create for yourself? I would love to have a place by the ocean. I can see the sea in the distance from the back of our house, but can’t hear it. I would be happy with a smallish room where my desk looked out over the sea. It would also be great to have a little deck where I could sit with a coffee or wine and contemplate. I would also want the room to have a door and not be open plan so I could hide myself away. Then when things got too busy in my head with the story I could call my dogs and go for a walk on the beach. I know it sounds clichéd but it would be so good.
5. If you could turn your novel into a TV show, which novel or series would you do? Where would it be set? Network TV (ABC, NBC, CBS), Cable (AMC, BBC, Lifetime) or Premium Cable (HBO, Showtime, Starz)?
As an Australian I am not familiar with all the different networks you have mentioned but would hope it would be on prime time. I love shows such as Once Upon a Time so would love to be alongside that. World Change is only the first book in the series so I would imagine we would be running over a few seasons. The setting would have to be Tuscany in Italy. I have always wanted to go to Florence and one day I will. Its history is fascinating. You have the Medici’s and their political machinations and then the beauty of artworks by people such as Leonardo da Vinci. Throw in religion and The Bonfire of the Vanities and it has everything. My world In World Change was based around this time in 14th century Italy.
6. Finally, tell us about your latest release! World Change Clare gets transported from present day Florence to an alternate world, one that looks like fourteenth century Italy. The only way back is through a portal half a world away, plus the local High priestess wants her dead, and the only one she can trust is a vampire called Trevi. He is the only one who exits in this world, and she knows more about what he is than he does. He is hard to resist, especially when he saves her life. Trevi can take her home but he is keeping one big secret. She will have to be like him to survive the journey through the portal back to her world making a myth a reality.

Excerpt She turned to run but he was on top of her, pinning her to the ground. She held her breath too frightened to breathe. With the moonlight behind him, his face was in shadow. He sniffed her then ran the tip of his tongue down her cheek to her neck. Clare swallowed as she struggled to breathe. Her heart beat so fast she could feel it through her chest. If he was going to bite her, then maybe this drunken illusion would be over. He didn't bite her. She could feel his fangs as he ran them up and down her neck. Where they touched, her skin tingled. He licked the blood away and the pain eased where her skin had been pierced by the spear. The calming thoughts of before were returning. She should be fighting him but it was the furthest thing from her mind. He was turning her on and she could feel the ache between her legs as his tongue swirled on her neck.
"Go ahead, do what you have to do. Maybe it will bring reality back."
He didn't bite her. Instead he trailed kisses from her neck to her lips. She should push him away but she opened to him. His cool tongue probing. He tasted sweet. Clare had never thought herself into erotic fantasy, but she felt an irresistible attraction to this man she was finding hard to control. Her tongue entered his mouth searching for his fangs. They scratched her tongue and she heard him groan as a sweet taste entered her mouth. It was at that moment her world became dark.
