Do you know what seeds you are planting? Are you conscious of what crops you are growing? We may not all be farmers in the traditional sense, but every day each one of us is planting specific seeds that will produce specific crops.
Every year farmers pick seeds based on what crop they want to harvest and consume. It’s a pretty simple concept but a ton of hard work to go from seed to consumption. It takes long hours, hard work, and the right environment.
You can’t just toss down a few seeds, do nothing and expect to see a kitchen table full of fresh food. You also can’t toss down carrot seeds and expect to harvest corn. It just doesn’t work that way!
The seeds you lay down every day are in the form of thoughts, words, and actions. They can be positive or negative, and each one will give you specific results based on which you plant into your soul. If you want to enjoy a beautiful harvest, you have to plant beautiful seeds. It just works that way!

I took this photo outside my church last weekend while I was waiting to pick up my daughter after her first day of Sparks. I could hardly see the screen because the sun was shining so bright. It was only after we got home I looked at what I had taken.
It’s such a beautiful picture of my son walking toward the sun, but if you look really close to the left, you will also see a single Blackbird watching over him. If you read my last book, you will understand why I couldn’t shake the smile from my face when I finally noticed it! Thank you, God!

Inspiring yourself to be better every day is not an easy task, but it must be done if you are looking to accomplish anything worthwhile. You are going to have to rely on yourself to stay strong when darkness and depression come knocking for your soul, but you are never alone.
One of my biggest weaknesses is my fear of asking for help and always trying to do everything myself. I’m not sure where it comes from, but I am working on reducing its impact and influence in my life.
However, if you’re like me and struggle to ask for help, I want to let you in on a little secret! Inside that thin little box, you’re holding in your hand are thousands of years of knowledge, experience, and individual pieces of insightful inspiration. All you have to do is unlock the damn thing and search for it!
When I say, you need to inspire yourself that doesn’t mean you can’t use all the tools you have at your disposal. There are tons of videos, podcasts, and books online that you can use to inspire yourself daily. You just have to ask better questions because to inspire others; you must first learn to inspire yourself!

We all have had times in our lives where leaving the house seems unsurmountable or even debilitating. We refuse to answer phone calls and let our e-mails accumulate to the point we feel more overwhelmed. If you want to have a better life, you need to break free from this bubble. If you are the only inhabitant inside this sphere, your life will be lonely. Every time you enter this bubble, the walls grow thicker, and the people surrounding it will start to move farther away.
If you have been fortunate enough to find the perfect life in your mind, you need to free yourself from seclusion. The direction you seek to attain your dreams will come in many forms, but you need to open every line of communication. You need to stay connected to the world that surrounds you because that world will provide answers.

I’ve been spending more time on social media lately because I want to expand my reach, share my thoughts, and connect with more people. Although I don’t get that much engagement yet I will continue to play the long game. @timgrahl
I’ve never really been one for spending a ton of time on social media, and I try to limit it to less than an hour per day. I also try to stay focused on only positive content and people that will inspire me or give me specialized knowledge I can bring to my writing business.
I try to use social media as a tool, but I also know if you’re not careful, it can put you in a negative feedback loop that can be dangerous to your mental health. If you are already fighting demons of unhappiness, these platforms can slowly kill you with unrealistic comparisons. Constantly comparing yourself to your family and friends every time you pick up your phone is not only foolish but a huge roadblock to your own happiness.
I’m not saying you have to give up checking your feed every day, but just understand that what you are seeing is the best of the best and everyone has there own individual demons they are facing. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not the manufactured joy of others.
