Everybody Else

Everybody Else

Everyone else
I used to know

Some fond faces
I don’t know
If I’ll see
Again

Some cut ties
Some hate or lies
Among other things

Deciding the reason
Excisions were keeping
Webs of networks apart

Pacified egos
Starving the soul
And depriving
Even simple things

Like a throat
To speak with

Everyone else
I don’t think about

Everyone else
Has a life, too

All the people
I’ve forgotten
And the names
I haven’t seemed

To somehow let
Cross my mind

Twidling my thumbs
On the new smartphone

C...

Vegas

Vegas

They stand tall
Beside each other,
With the heat of their
Hiss and hum echoing through
The valley.

They reshape maps
When they walk.

They roam and stand
Old as sin,
Strong, and speak,

“This place is a maze.”
They say.
“Those echoes you hear
Take over your mind
And play.”

“It is warm, we know,
But only entering the light
Will cause you to be
Lost to the corners of time.”

Hours, perhaps,
Or even years.

Maybe beyond the
Dusky shadow of the
Titan’s pass
There’s a place for you
To get lost.

Deneb Mythos #2: Satellites of the Old Lords

In the1st era, the countries of Esther, Quincy, and Dominicus all set out to stake a claim to the land found down the Aaugyst River. The three colonies that formed all came from those countries who feuded often in the north. This is the story of Jack Hykrel and a group of fighters who defended Little Quincy from an attack by the natives who lived there. What would it mean for the future of their claim?

Downstairs

Downstairs

Purple banners in between
Portholes looking at
Visions of deep oceans.

Incense of champions
Smolders in golden bowls.

A television with untidy wires
Flowing in and out
Sits affixed on one wall.

Smoke and the sea
Mix together on TV.

Energy of The Minotaur

Energy of The Minotaur

The tab gives way easily.
The whole can is cold;
Condensating.

An odor of rocket fuel
Seeps into the air
When the seal breaks.

Gripping it gives way
To a vision of cold
Bull horns.

Tipping it into the mouth
Spills into your body
A sickly sweet ichor,

Like the taste of an
Enflamed maniac
Breaking through walls.

With every pulse
Of the heart, another
Wall smashed through

With a sledgehammer
And ran through
On fire.

Tastes dissapate into
Plasma in the air.
A chemical trip...

Warsxzaw

Warsxzaw

There was always the
Wet blacktop.

There was always grey
Warsaw clouds
Threatening to drain
Onto the small world.

From heavy nebulas
In the heavensya
Where mist rolls
In webs
To aerosol ticks
Jumping.

Falling.
Falling

Through open sky,
Past trees and
Telephone poles,
The ticks land
On wet blacktop,
Crawling in cracks
Under car tires
Driving over roads.

Droplets of glass
Grey land, and
Run into gutters.

All taking place under warxaw clouds
On oily, wet black top

In sun, in rain,
In mi...

Made Up

Made Up

It looks alone
Sitting naked
On a paper towel

A donut

Sandblasted, it seems,
With the golden soft
Flesh and shell
Of coconut

Its aroma is
Quite quiet,
Reminding me of
Some Hawaiian
Beach I’ve never
Been to

It’s just a
Morsel

A palm tree
Powdery sand

A sugary beachy
Tropical fleeting
Imaginary memory

Rough and escaping
Consumed and gone
That is what
It tastes like

Valentine’s

Valentine’s

Cinnamon and raisin bread
Butter
Cheese

Toasted
Foil

Candles
A blanket
In a cold backyard

‘Romantic’

Can I
Fix this?
