Frederikke Byron, was born in Denmark in 1993, and now lives in a suburb to Copenhagen, close to her university.
When she is not writing, she is studying for a master’s degree in civil engineering biotechnology.
She has always loved reading books, and she started to write them, already from an early age, in her childhood room, using pen and paper.
It wasn’t until a substitute teacher, stole her notebook from her, and started reading one of her short stories out loud in elementary school, that she actually realized that she could write and that others enjoyed it. Therefore, she had five short stories published in Danish by the age of 15.

I sit down at my computer, listen to some good music, and then I just force myself to start writing, until inspiration strikes. (less)

This will give the reader a greater understanding of the universe, and many ancestors to characters we know from Shadow Wars will be in it. There will also be a great deal more magical creatures and the whole setting will be a lot different than what we are used to in Shadow Wars. (less)

The typo that ruined your life

We all know them. We all make them daily. Yet we are ruthless when we find them in other people's work.

Typos.

I think I can safely say, that typos are something that most writers fear pops up in their newly published manuscripts, as they can completely ruin the meaning of a sentence.

My favorite mistake, that luckily one of my tests readers informed me about, is the following:

Diana Gabaldon
“Look back, hold a torch to light the recesses of the dark. Listen to the footsteps that echo behind, when you walk alone.
All the time the ghosts flit past and through us, hiding in the future. We look in the mirror and see the shades of other faces looking back through the years; we see the shape of memory, standing solid in an empty doorway. By blood and by choice, we make our ghosts; we haunt ourselves.
Each ghost comes unbidden from the misty grounds of dream and silence.
Our rational minds say, "No, it isn't."
But another part, an older part, echoes always softly in the dark, "Yes, but it could be.”
Diana Gabaldon, Drums of Autumn
