Well, some say that it is best to take a break, and then come back when you are inspired, but I have a different approach.

I am currently working on a prequel series for Shadow Wars, that is set in England 1405. This will give the reader a greater understanding of the universe, and many ancestors to characters we know from Shadow Wars will be in it. There will also be a great deal more magical creatures and the whole setting will be a lot different than what we are used to in Shadow Wars.

I find a lot of inspiration by walking, especially in the woods or by the beach. Being surrounded by beautiful nature almost always inspires me.
But mostly it's my characters that inspire me. Weird as it may sound, then I've always felt as if it's the characters writing the story, and not me. So that's why my books have their own unique voice, depending who the character telling the story is.

I actually got the idea for the book a long time ago. I was walking home from a friends house and suddenly Claire was just there in my head. Speaking to me, wanting me to tell her story.
