Congratulations! And the Winner Is…
Oh, my goodness! As I said in my recent newsletter, December was a whirlwind. January’s shaping up to give December a run for her money.
Between a book launch and a blog party (one here and one at Mountain Brook Ink), guest blogs, marketing, promotion, and my work-in-progress, even breathing is a short commodity. Toss in Christmas and last month’s holiday to-dos, and I don’t mind sharing—I am one exhausted gal. Zzzzzzz
I need a nap, friends! Preferably, a longish one on my cozy, comfy bed wi...January 4, 2019
HER HOPE DISCOVERED ~ Book Launch Blog Party
Oh, my goodness—it’s Happy Book Birthday time!
Today on the blog I’m officially celebrating the release of Her Hope Discovered, book one in my Welcome to Ruby series. It’s all systems go as we buckle up for blast-off!
No need to comb your hair, apply lipstick, or change out of your PJs (I promise I won’t look—too close). Just settle back, grab your Snuggie (you know—that blanket-thing with sleeves that was all the rage a few years ago), and belly up to the coffee bar—let’s get this book laun...

Let’s Celebrate! Ring in the New Year with HER HOPE DISCOVERED
Today as Christmas 2018 winds down, I pray you and yours have enjoyed a fantastic holiday season filled with loads of love and good cheer!
Over our way, we celebrated the birth of our Savior with family and friends. We attended church events and dinners, made new memories, and savored fun, food, and fellowship with loved ones. As usual, Christmas came and went too quickly.
And in the middle of all this…I celebrated the launch of my début novel, Her Hope Discovered, book one in the Welcome t...

A Holiday Book Launch ~ What Really Goes Through an Author’s Mind
For a début novelist, launching a book at the holiday season is a bit like birthing a baby on a roller coaster surrounded by sugar-plum fairies and candy canes…and wondering if anyone’s watching.
Think: elation meets sheer panic.
While an author’s first (published) book is a triumphant accomplishment, it’s also a season of utter exhaustion and terror. (Click-to-Tweet)
We’re excited for the world to finally meet our “first-born,” but we worry, too, will people think she’s beautiful?
Will the...December 14, 2018
HER HOPE DISCOVERED: Go for Launch!
It’s here! Her Hope Discovered (the print edition) officially launched this week—and four days ahead of schedule, too!
While the birth of a book isn’t quite as exciting as that of our first born child, it’s still an extraordinary milestone in an author’s career. (Click-to-Tweet)
Anticipated, yet not without some trepidation and goosebumps, watching our first book release into the world is kind of like seeing our baby take her first breath. We expect it to happen, yet when it does, we sigh w...

HER HOPE DISCOVERED: A Behind-the-Scenes Peek
Recently I shared a little of the book launch process with you.
Today I thought you might enjoy learning a little more about Her Hope Discovered, book one in my Welcome to Ruby series.
It’s a bitter-cold day here in the Ozarks, but let’s warm up with a cup of coffee and draw back the curtain on our little fictional town where there’s always pie and a smile to warm us. (Click-to-Tweet)
Imagine, if you will, a quaint, cozy community wrapped in fall and nestled within the Ozarks’ foothills.The...

Go-for-Launch… It Happens Soon!
For an author, there are few things as exciting as her first book launch. Add to that the holiday hustle and bustle and all the giddiness that surrounds this wonderful season of giving, and you have the perfect recipe for the best Christmas ever.
This bookish dream is about to become a reality!
It’s a time of expectancy and delight coupled with moments of exhaustion and a wee bit crazy.
Launching a book during the holidays is a mixed bag of blessings and goosebumps. Here’s why. (Click-to-Twe...November 24, 2018
Thanksgiving Rewind (and Giveaway Winner)
Today as we bask in the afterglow of turkey and pumpkin pie, I pray that you and yours had a Happy Thanksgiving!
While many braved Black Friday sales, I hunkered down at home and enjoyed family, food, and fellowship. I didn’t miss the cool, rainy weather or the mad dash between stores that boasted “once in a lifetime bargains,” but if you were one of the hearty souls who endured and survived, I salute you! I thought about you with each goodie bite as Bing crooned “White Christmas” as only Bi...

Four Reasons I Love Connecting With You on Instagram
About three months ago I did something I thought I’d never do. I jumped on the Instagram train.
That’s right. I threw on my Sunday best and climbed aboard the photo/video sharing platform that boasts over one billion monthly users. I have to say—I’m loving the ride! I hope you’ll join me.
Until recently, I felt no need to add yet one more social networking site to my already full plate. I’ve always said I will only connect in ways that build relationships and in ways I personally find fun. (...
