Good Things and an Update
I haven’t blogged since November. While I’ve missed our weekly visits, I found it necessary to step away for a while to focus on writing, deadlines, and family obligations. Over the years, I’ve come to recognize things I must relegate to the back burner for a season. Blogging’s one of those things.
You may remember my father is in the latter stages of Alzheimer’s. I’d love to say this isn’t so. It’s still surreal, and acknowledging this is painful. Knowing a loved one will never get better,...

10 Reasons Why HER HOPE DISCOVERED Would Make a Great Hallmark Movie
After a much needed break, it’s great to be back with you today!
I thought maybe I’d blog about 10 Things I’ve Learned As a Debut Author, but I think I’ll save that post for another time.
Instead, please join me as I slip on my rose colored glasses and channel my inner Pollyanna. Coffee’s on, cookies are warm, and that pretty, sunlit path and tree lined ridge are calling our name!
There’s a chill in the air as fall colors emerge, and if you’ve watched TV, a whole lotta holiday is about to hit the airwaves.
Seasonal special...

Back-to-School and August Update
Hi friend ~ It’s back-to-school over our way! That’s right—we moved college gal back to the dorm last weekend, and like many of you, we’re in another season of transition.
Whew. Who knew back-to-school month could be so exhausting?
We’re now in the readjustment phase. Our baby chick is settled again on campus, and my husband and I have resumed our pre-summer routine. I shared with another mama that I’m not sure this semi-empty nest process gets easier, but staying busy helps.
I’ve hopped bac...July 19, 2019
Summer Update
Hi friend! It’s great to be with you for a little while today!
Summer is in full-swing in the Ozarks, and as you may remember, I have much going on. Because of summer busyness, I’ve taken a bit of a blogging break, but I hope to resume my normal schedule soon.
College gal’s home so that means catching up on doctor and dental check -ups, general errands, and prepping for next semester.
My daddy continues to deal with myriad health issues so I would certainly appreciate your prayers regarding...

Why I Wrote Jessie’s Hope via Jennifer Hallmark
Today I welcome my friend Jennifer Hallmark to the blog.
I met Jennifer some years ago at an ACFW conference and I was immediately drawn to her warm smile and easy going demeanor. I’m excited to be part of her blog tour for Jessie’s Hope.
Take it away, Jennifer!
Jessie’s Hope grew from a short story developed from writing prompts by my local writers’ group. From those prompts, I drew a wedding dress designer, faded coveralls, and a dusty baseball cap.
I received positive feedback on the 75...June 7, 2019
Writing through the Pain…While on Deadline
As you know, here on the blog and generally as I navigate life, I love to speak positivity. It’s my happy place.
The reality is, though, life isn’t always fair, kind, or happy.
Sometimes, there are ways we can juggle bad things or tiptoe around them. Sometimes, there’s no other way but to just plow right through the situation.
As I shared in my Facebook Readers’ Group yesterday, I’m in such a season.
Writing during crises and tough events is hard. Writing as a deadline looms is even harder....

Wet and Soggy in The Ozarks
Here in the wet and soggy Ozarks, we’re a little weary. If you’ve followed weather-related events of the last week, then no doubt you’ve heard of our recent storm outbreaks.
Ozarks weather has truly lived up to its unpredictability. Even for those of us in Tornado Alley, we’re more than a little battle-worn.
To our neighbors north of us in Jefferson City, we send our heartfelt prayers! To those in nearby areas who lost loved ones and were affected by the recent tornado outbreak, our thoughts...

The Ozarks and the Stories That Live There
Rich in heritage and unique in culture, The Ozarks region is a place like no other. Amidst a lush backdrop of rolling hills and hidden hollows, stories abound. Some remain elusive while others beg to be shared.

This One’s for YOU, Imperfect MOMS
Like many moms, I wanted to be the perfect mother.
I have quite an extraordinary mom myself and I envisioned what life would be like once I delivered my darling bundles into this big, beautiful world.
I embraced the notion of pouring myself into these new lives and I determined to be the best mother ever.On my journey to perfectdom, I read books to glean all sorts of educational nuggets. I spoke to other mothers. I modeled my own mother’s attributes. I loved and nurtured my children to the...
