October 2020 Updates
Hi everybody!
Here’s an update on various projects that I’m working on:
Allodasos Novella Series
The first novella of Allodasos, Gnats, is on its third edit through the house. With luck, it’ll be published as an e-book by the end of the year. The manuscript of the second book, Sinkhole, has been sent to the house to begin edits, and the third book’s alpha draft has been completed and is going through readings and preliminary edits with my amazing critique partners. I’ve also reached the halfway point for the fourth novella, but I’ve put it on the back burner for now in case I need to change any elements based on the formal edits of the first several novellas. Right now, I’m aiming at having the alpha draft done by the end of December.
The Wizard’s Staff
Because I’ve momentarily stepped back from writing Allodasos book 4, I’m working on a quick and goofy novelette called The Wizard’s Staff. This piece is a satire/comedy merging a Dungeons & Dragons setting with the sappiness of an 80s romance novel; for all intents and purposes, it’s in the LitRPG subgenre with an unhealthy dose of love at first sight and kobolds. Because of the nature of this story, I don’t intend to process it through a publishing house, instead, after it goes through several rounds of edits and critiques, it’ll be made available on Kindle Unlimited. I’m halfway through writing The Wizard’s Staff’s alpha draft and I intend to have it self-published in January 2021, February at the latest.
Short Stories
I still have three short stories in the works to be published in various literary magazines over the next couple of months. “Reach for the Stars” will be released in an experimental online journal called Volume Stories in December as part of its debut; “Destroying the Evidence” is going to be a part of the 18th volume of From the Depths literary magazine, to be released by the end of this year; and “Here, at the End” is planned to be in the debut of To Write Your Name literary journal, slated for early 2021.
Poetry
My 39-line poem “Joining Adhemar” is to be released in SHIFT: A Journal of Literary Oddities volume 3 later this year or early 2021.
Critiquing Service
Finally, one last bit of self-promotion. Over the past week, I’ve become a freelance professional critiquer for fiction and non-fiction on the website Critique Match. If you have a story, article, or synopsis that you’re ready to have looked at with a fresh eye and different perspective, my rates are on the lower end of the freelancers and I’ve had 210+ critiques that I’ve already completed on the platform with 5-star reviews. Check me out with the link below, there’s even documents showcasing my critique/edit style!

I hope you all have a fantastic Halloween; stay safe!

“Reach for the Stars”
Hi everybody!
Here’s a microfiction that has had trouble finding a home – it’s made it to the second round of consideration for three different literary magazines before being turned down. Instead of forgetting about it in a dusty folder, I’ve opted to give it some artwork and release it as a freebie here on this site, Facebook, and Instagram. It may end up on Reddit and Twitter as well at some point.
Without further ado, here’s “Reach for the Stars!”

Allodasos 1: Gnats
I’ve got some news to share to you about Gnats!
While I still do not have a new release date since the pandemic delayed the initial date for last month, I do now have the cover to show you! So, drumroll…
…
…

You may have noticed that the title is wedged between two additional lines: “Allodasos” and “Book 1”… that’s right, the full series has been picked up by DLG – that’s a total of ten novellas!
The next two after Gnats have been written and are going through beta readers and critique partners right now, and I’ve just hit the halfway mark in writing book 4.
I also have a slew of short stories based in the world and featuring side characters that will be released as freebies between the novellas. The first of these shorts was released several months ago on my website, “Eva’s Exposition.” You can read it by clicking here!
Hopefully, I will soon be able to get you a release date for Gnats. Until then, I hope this sates your appetite – especially for the ARC readers who have expressed their eagerness to download the final version of the book.
I hope you all stay well and enjoy your August!

101 Proof Horror & “A Matter of Time”

After some delay because of the pandemic, I’m excited to announce that Haunted MTL’s first anthology 101 Proof Horror has been published!
Included in the collection is my short story, “A Matter of Time.”
Mr. Merson, a retired horologist, discovers an old desk clock next to a dumpster of a mansion being renovated, and judiciously repairs the antique into the early hours of morning. Just as the clock begins to tick once again, he finds himself face to face with his long-deceased wife…
Currently, the print version of the anthology is available for sale at Amazon, listed for roughly $25. At some point next month, it will be made available as a (cheaper) PDF download on Czykmate Productions’ website and as a MOBI eBook on Amazon.

“Old Tin Cup”

Happy summer everybody, I hope you all staying safe and well!
I just wanted to let you know that the 2020 edition of the Alchemy Literary Magazine has been published and is FREE to read online (physical copies may be on sale later this year, but due to budget cuts because of the pandemic, they might not be a thing).
My 43-line poem OLD TIN CUP was included in this publication and can be read on page 31.
This magazine is filled to the brim with amazing poems, short stories, and art and I’m honored to have a place amongst them. Give them them all a read, it’s worth it!

Publication Updates & Announcements
Happy spring everybody, I hope you are all staying safe and well during the pandemic!

Because of said pandemic, I have some updates on various upcoming projects – some of which have had their publication dates pushed back while others are going as planned. Without further ado, here are those updates!
Gnats
The first novella of a new fantasy series has had its publication date pushed back one to three months. The original slated date was in July, so now it will fall somewhere between August and October. I’ll give you more updates on this as soon as plans become more concrete.
“A Matter of Time”
This short story is going to be included in the Haunted MTL’s first anthology 101 Proof Horror. Due to the coronavirus, its publication date has been pushed back. While there is currently no new release date, the project is going forward as planned. I’ll update you on the anthology as soon as I am!
“Destroying the Evidence”
This microfiction will be released in print in From the Depths literary magazine. The publication date is sometime in the fourth quarter, usually November based on past issues, and at this time is going forward as planned.
ANNOUNCING “Old Tin Cup”
This 43-line poem has been picked up by the annual Alchemy Literary Magazine to be released in print (and possibly online) on June 1st. When published, I will provide a link to the magazine’s sale page.
ANNOUNCING “The Bruising Light”
This 16-line poem has been picked up by the Closed Eye Open literary magazine’s debut issue to be included in the “Maya’s Micros” section. The Bruising Light will be published some time in June this year. I’ll be sure to let you know when it becomes accessible!
Gnats sequels
As I’ve previously mentioned, I’ve already started working on the immediate sequels for Gnats. Of those, the second novella, Sinkhole, has nearly completed its beta stage and I am editing it into the manuscript form to submit to my publisher. And finally, I’m nearly done with the alpha draft of Novella 3, Colorblind. So, pending further complications, you can expect to see those books coming out not much later than Gnats!
I believe that does it for now; so, put on your plague doctor masks and enjoy the spring!
