I read stuff about my childhood in a similar way… it has a level of dissociation that breaks when I wrote and reread it. Thus it is almost a rediscovery of my past when I share andtalk.

It gets easier, but it stillhurts

The mind and body are completely interconnected.

The mind and body are completely interconnected. People can see physical illnesses, but not mental. We have all had physical pain, but not all mental pain, thus empathy ishard.

Denial from what?

Denial from what?

Dissociation is a real phenomena caused by trauma (one or prolonged instances)

Just because a lawyer used this as a defence doesn’t discount its validity as a real thing (in fact it’s more evidence that it is in fact legit).

It is unfortunate that you feel that using it as a defence wasn’t appropriate (it sounds like it wasn’t in that case, but I can’t judge).

However for myself and many many victims of child sexual assault and other trauma, dissociation is a very real thing.

I agree with you assertion that there needs to be far more reaching out.

That is the reason behind a lot of my work; reaching out and sharing stories. The hope is that I can help to reduce the stigma and open up channels of communication, healing and growth.

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond
