A Delay in Book Availability; Sorry Folks, But Here are the New Book Covers

It seems that the new editions of my first four Amish Country Mysteries will not be available, yet, for a couple of days. In the meantime, I might as well show you the new book covers. When they are available, you’ll be able to get them online and at bookstores nationwide, plus as e-books for Kindle, Nook, KOBO etc.

New Editions of My Amish Country Mysteries – Blood of the Prodigal, Now Available From Ohio University Press

A New Edition Now Available from Ohio University Press

This beautiful new edition has expanded content, a new cover, and features that I think you will very much like, including author interview questions, a map of the pertinent region in Holmes County, a travel guide that I wrote especially for the route designated on the map, and questions for book clubs and reading groups. It can be ordered now at the Ohio University Press website ( https://www.ohioswallow.com/book/Blood+of+the+Prodigal ) either in a paperback or hardcover format. Please let me know what you think of the new editions. The first four novels in the series of seven original stories have now been published. The other three novels will soon be available, too.

Second Editions of My Amish Country Mysteries

A New Edition Coming in 2020 from Ohio University Press

Starting early in 2020, Ohio University Press will publish new editions of my Amish Country Mysteries. These editions will include maps of the pertinent Holmes County locations, with travel guides that I have written specifically for each story, plus interviews with the author and study questions for book clubs and reading groups. Here is the cover for the first story in the series, Blood of the Prodigal. I think these editions are going to be very nice indeed. The new content will be especially interesting, as I hope you will agree. For the moment, we’ll need to wait until February to see it in print.

My Website is Being Repaired!

It seems that I have been able to take a few bold (but rather exhausting) measures to fix most of my website. There are still issues, but I now have hope for the site, and I have decided to keep it on the internet for the time being. For a while, I need to take a rest from it. I really was not built to be a webmaster! Thanks to my many fans, family and friends for your patience and support.

If you know of reliable Word Press website administrators, please put me in touch with them, either by a comment here, or by sending an email to one of the addresses now listed on the “Contact” page of the website.

Taking Down My Website and News About My Novels

I am sorry to report that my website has been hopelessly corrupted. I will therefore take it off the internet in the next couple of days.

My tenth Amish-Country Mystery, Stars for Lydia, is still available both as a paperback and an e-book. The paperback can be purchased at Amazon, and electronic books are available at all of the various e-reader companies.

Also, I am happy to report that Ohio University Press will soon publish new editions of my first seven stories. These will include travel maps for the story locations, interviews with me, and discussion questions for book clubs and reading groups.

I will try to establish a new website/blog at something like P.L. Gaus’s Amish-Country Mysteries. This may take a couple of weeks, but certainly you can look for it sometime early next year.

I thank all of you who have supported my novels and website over the years. I am grateful beyond what words can express for your many positive comments and letters. I cannot predict what the future may hold, but I do not think you have heard the last from Professor Branden, Sheriff Robertson and Pastor Troyer.

Stars for Lydia, My Tenth Amish-Country Mystery

My tenth story, Stars for Lydia, is selling well in both its paperback version (Amazon) and its various e-reader platforms. This is a story about the Schwartzentrubers, the most conservative of all the Amish peoples. In the meantime, my website has been hacked again, and I am investigating more intense security measures. I may have to take the website down altogether, and I am considering that. If so, you should look for my blogs in the future on something like PL Gaus’s Amish-Country Journal. I will try to let you know if that happens.

A Paperback Edition of Stars for Lydia Is Now Available for Purchase at Amazon

I have now published Stars for Lydia, my tenth Amish-Country Mystery, at Amazon.com as a paperback edition. You can buy it on their website. So that is one bit of good news. But also, Ohio University Press has decided to republish my stories as Twentieth Anniversary Editions, sometime later this year, or early next year. Now, all that is left for me is to hope that you like the story!

My Tenth Amish-Country Mystery – From PL Gaus

I have some good progress to report. Stars for Lydia is now available as an e-book from Amazon (Kindle), Barnes&Noble (Nook), Apple Books (i-readers such as Mac, i-Phones and i-Pads), Walmart (Kobo) and Bibliotheca (for libraries), among several others. The story description has also finished posting to several of these sites. For instance, if you want a story synopsis, you can read it at Amazon right now, and eventually also at the other vendors, too. Also, I know that e-readers are not everyone’s favorite medium, so I am actively pursuing publication of a paperback volume. On that matter, though, I have no idea how soon I might be able to offer a paperback, if ever. For the moment, Stars for Lydia is an e-book exclusively.

Stars for Lydia – An E-Book’s Progress

Two Old Order Amish Children

My tenth Amish-Country Mystery, Stars for Lydia (an e-book), is making its way through the various vendors, and is presently live and for sale at: Barnes&Noble’s Nook, Walmart’s KOBO, plus Tolino, Playster, Scribd, Bibliotheca, and Baker&Taylor. Other vendors will be coming up soon, including Kindle (Amazon). For the next several months, it will be available as an e-book only. I will be working on producing a paperback through Amazon, but I can’t predict when (or if) it will be available in a print edition. If you don’t have an e-reader, your local library can probably get you started with a readable copy of the story. Many libraries even provide e-readers, and other types of downloads, these days, so please don’t let inexperience with electronic media be a hindrance to you. I hope everyone can have a chance to read the novel. Once you have read it, I very much hope that you will let me know what you think of it.
