As I finish up proofreading Nightwalker, the editor doing...

As this book is indie-pubbed, it can't be preordered, but check my website and blog, FB page, Twitter for the announcement, or sign up for my newsletter through my website (http://www.allysonjames.com). Or you can email me at allysonjames @ cox .net (no spaces) and ask to be put on the list for my email blast.
This is a full-length, 90,000-word novel in the Stormwalker series. You can read a description of it on my website (http://www.allysonjames.com/stormwalker.html) or on its Goodreads page.
Sorry this has taken so long. Everything that possibly could have delayed this book has delayed it. Contract issues, illness, frantic deadlines for other books, injuries in the family, broken laptops, new laptops that don't work, time and coordination problems . . .
Well, this series has always had a curse on it. I'm pretty sure it's the skinwalkers, or maybe Grandmother Begay, who doesn't want them to be out there.
But the universe willing, the pub date is September 23. Please don't be upset if it's the 24th or 25th for some versions--once I upload the book it's then up to the vendors to put it out in a timely fashion. Some are faster than others.
A print edition will follow the epub, probably in about a week after epub date. The cover designer is working on the print cover now.
I plan to continue the series with more books, both short and long. Gabrielle has much more to do, Mick and Janet aren't finished, Colby is still hanging around, and who knows who's going to show up next at Janet's hotel?
I won't project pub dates (learned that lesson), but suffice to say, there will be more! As much as I can possibly do! (And Shareem? Yep, them too.)

Updates on Nightwalker

If all goes well, I hope to pub this later this month, around the 20th. I'll update with a firmer date when I know it.
The book will be up in all e-book forms, with a print edition available through Amazon as well. No pre-orders are possible, but I'll post as soon as it's ready (here and everywhere else). You can join my Allyson James newsletter for an announcement when the book is out here:

or send me an email: allysonjames @ cox . net [no spaces]
Also, check out my Jennifer Ashley webpage, for the new Shifters short novel, Hard Mated, which is out in e-, soon to be in print!

Nightwalker Draft Done
Good news! I finished
Nightwalker
last night (typed THE END woot!). The draft turned out to be about 87,000 words. Now I need to read it and find out if there's a book there, not just 87,000 words! I will revise, then have it edited and proofed, and then it will be out!
I'll keep posting about in what stage the book is as I go, here and on Twitter and FB, so you will have an idea how long it will be to publication.
I'm excited about this. I also have another Stormwalker novella in the works, plus the next book already in planning stages. I won't project how long it will be for those, because I have a boatload of work to do for my Jennifer Ashley side, but I'm excited to get started on them. (Shareem lovers: I do plan one more book in that series--to give all the Shareem their ending).
Happy reading, and thanks for your patience!

More Nightwalker Updates
I've had to keep putting this book aside, again and again (argh!!), to finish the Shifter and Mackenzie books for Berkley, as I continue my scramble to catch up. However, I have been pecking away at Nightwalker every chance I get, and it's almost done. The draft is now at 70,000 words, and there isn't far to go.
I have updated my website: http://www.allysonjames.com to add my Twitter feed at the top. There I post updates day to day so readers can better gauge the progress on books and when to expect them.
I'm having a blast writing this book, which will see the return of Coyote, Nash, Mick (of course), Grandmother Begay, Gabriella, and many more.

Nightwalker Updates
I'm still working on it! That's the update. I have more than 50,000 words written on this novel, but I had to put it aside to go over the copy edits of Mate Claimed (Shifters Unbound book 4), which took about 2 weeks. Now I have to finish The Seduction of Elliot McBride (Mackenzies 5) and turn it in before I can get back to
Nightwalker
(I should have Seduction done in about a week or more).
However, Nightwalker is next on my plate. A number of readers have emailed me about it, but all I can say is I'm working on it. My projected release dates this year did not work out, obviously, but the book is coming. (It does not have an ISBN yet, nor is it available for preorder.)
You can join my Allyson James newsletter for an email blast when it's out: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/allysonjames/
or ask to be put on my email list: allysonjames @ cox . net (no spaces)
Thanks for all the enthusiasm about this book! All I can say is, it's coming along, has much action/adventure, wild magic, new characters (and familiar ones), and motorcycles.

Update on Nightwalker

Many of you have been emailing me asking when it will be out, and I apologize for confusing you with dates. I had wanted to have it finished and out by April at the latest, but life happened. I spent a month in Feb-March very ill. I was able to get Justin finished and released, but that was about it, and then I collapsed.
Being sick put me behind not only on Nightwalker (and my next Captain Lacey mystery) but also very behind on my deadlines with Berkley. I've turned in one of those deadline books, but I must now work on the second before I'm caught up there.
However, throughout all this, I've been steadily writing Nightwalker . I work on it every morning for at least an hour. Today I reached page 115 (about 31,000 words). The book is projected to be about 75-80K, which is give or take another about 200 pages. I type fast, so it won't take that much time (weeks, not years!).
After that, the book will be revised and edited, then proofread. Add another 2-3 weeks for that.
I'm not going to project a specific release date. I've learned my lesson. :-) Once the ms. is finished, I can better project a date, knowing how long it will take for the edit/proof/publishing process.
But the book will be done, it will be out, and the next in the series planned. I also have a Stormwalker novella planned--though that may turn into the next novel...I'll see how it goes.
Because I'm currently writing five series (Shifters, Mackenzies, Stormwalker, Captain Lacey, Shareem), juggling all this has proved to be a trick!
I can say, in my defense, that books are coming out from me steadily, and will continue to emerge throughout the year. Books in 2012 that have been and will be released (in this order) are
Wild Cat (Shifters Unbound) (Jan)Justin (Shareem) (Feb)The Pirate Next Door (re-release) (March)The Duke's Perfect Wife (Mackenzies) (April)Nightwalker (Stormwalker)A Disappearance in Drury Lane (Capt Lacey)Hard Mated (Shifters Unbound short novel/novella)Mate Claimed (Shifters Unbound)and more after that taking us to 2013
Re-releases from my Jennifer Ashley side, including the Immortals series will be threaded in here. Also, I intend to re-release Eland (Shareem short: have rights to it back from Ellora's Cave).
I offer no excuse (except the illness--that's a good excuse), and I do apologize for projecting dates I had no right to project. I got excited.:-)
