Room at the Edge

Alexa and I started tagging on 'Room at the Edge', the sequel to 'Room at the Top' yesterday.

People sometimes ask how co-writing works; for us, it's really trouble free. We draft out a plot via email, open a Google doc and start to tag, trading paragraphs back and forth. The tags can be a couple of lines or a couple of hundred words, depending.

Back when we started to write together, we'd each pick a character and be the only one to write them, but that, though it was good in that it gave the characters a distinct voice, got cumbersome. We started to borrow each others character for a few lines, then more, and things got faster.

Now, we tend to dream up a character each, choose their eye color, hair, characteristics and such, but after creating a character bible, we both write them.

Co-writing is fast. Alone, I struggle to do a thousand words a day, staring blankly at an equally blank screen; tagging, we can do 5,000 a day without any difficulty.

I'd never give up solo writing, but there's no denying that co-writing is a breeze.

Of course, that's because I've got Alexa on the other end of the tag and she rocks :-)

Room at the Edge cover

Room at the Edge, the sequel to Room at the Top, comes out on Dec 18th from Loose Id, written by Alexa and me.

Three sexy men, one hot relationship. In Room at the Top, devoted sub couple Jay and Austin went looking for a no-strings attached Dom and ended up falling for Liam, who, much to his surprise, turned out to be the Dom of their dreams. But their happy ending was only the beginning of their story. Now Jay is begging Liam to turn up the heat with fire play and Austin wants them all under one roof, no matter what people might think. Caught up in the difficulties and pleasures of their new relationship, it's easy to miss the way they're moving dangerously close to the edge of falling apart, not deeper in love.

Here's the gorgeous cover by Valerie Tibbs.

Many thanks to our editor Serena Stokes for her invaluable guidance, to Valerie Tibbs for the lovely cover, to all at Loose Id for their help in getting the book out there, and as ever, as always, to Alexa for being a joy to write with and an unfailing source of inspiration.

Books on sale at Loose Id

Hearts on Fire Reviews posted a list of their favorite books from 2013 and many LI titles were on there, including Room at the Edge by Jane Davitt and Alexa Snow.

Room at the Edge (Room at the Top, #2) by Jane Davitt

To tie in with this, LI are discounting all their books on the list from now until midnight Jan 19th. It's well worth visiting the site and buying from there. They offer all the usual formats for the e-readers out there and the site's got some good features like the VIP Club and the Daily Deals.

So go! Buy books! Save money! Read! :-))
