Reading Between the Lines

Reading Between the Lines is a story of mine that first appeared in an anthology published by Torquere in 2008 called Kegs and Dorms.

Jane Davitt's "Reading Between the Lines" tells the story of Seth and Gabe, the odd-couple-from-hell roommates who are either going to kill each other or fall in love, and it's anybody's guess as to which will come first.

They're releasing my story as a standalone now that the book is out of print and it'll come out on Feb 5 2014.

I went through the story and tweaked some stylistic choices I'd made. The chance to edit myself after six years of (I hope) growing as a writer was too tempting to pass on. I use less ellipses these days...

The cover is by the talented Brandon Clay.

Reading Between the Lines released today

A short story of mine, Reading Between the Lines, comes out today from Torquere. It was in a 2008 collection of short stories, Kegs and Dorms. That's OOP now.

I revised the story a little since I had the chance but it's essentially the same so don't buy it if you've already read it :-)

Forced to room with a student who hates him on sight, Seth's expecting a rocky semester, and falling for the surly Gabe only adds to his troubles. Gabe's past is full of secrets, a closed book, but can Seth find the way to Gabe's heart by reading between the lines?

Reading Between the Lines

Reading Between the Lines by Jane Davitt
The rights to this novella, previously available first in the Kegs and Dorms anthology, and later as a standalone, are back with me.

I've revised it and it can now be purchased from my webpage.
