Publication Announcements...

A couple of announcements today. Firstly, I am delighted to say that my short story, The Bayonet, will be appearing in a forthcoming Green Gecko Publishing anthology called Passion for Ghost Stories. The anthology is being edited by Renee Zuchniak and will feature a mixture of true and fictional ghost stories (The Bayonet is one of the latter). I will let you know the release date as soon as it is announced. Secondly, I am pleased to report that my poem, House of Dark Dreams has just been reprinted in issue 21 of Dark Metre. The poem was originally published in a magazine called Back Roads back in 2007, but as it is one of my personal favourites, it is great to see it back in the public eye. You can read it in its new home for the bargain price of nada at the following link...

Now, for no particular reason, here is a random photo of me...

This was taken a few months ago at Muscle Car City in Punta Gorda, Fl. The car in the picture was famously driven by Cameron Diaz in the movie Charlie's Angels. Click here to see it in action.

Thanks for listening. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

'The Murders in the Rue Morgue' - A Study in Wax...

Those of you who are familiar with Edgar Allan Poe's The Murders in the Rue Morgue may recall the character of the orangutan. Here is that character as it is portrayed in the Musee Conti Wax Museum in New Orleans...

Musee Conti Waxwork

Now, I am no zoologist, but I feel there are some serious inaccuracies here. In fact, I'd question whether the person responsible had ever actually seen an orangutan. That said, it's a really fun piece and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I wonder if Mr. Poe would agree with me.

SCI FI COMIC OUT NOW!

Further to my post the week before last, I just wanted to let you know that the first few pages of my comic, The Experiment, have now been published over at AE: The Canadian Science Fiction Review. You can view them at the following link...

The Experiment

The remainder of the pages will be posted a day at a time, so you will have to keep checking back to find out how the story progresses. Please note, there does seem to be some kind of problem with the comic at the moment, as I have been unable to get the pages to open, but the matter has been reported, so it will hopefully be rectified imminently. If you enjoy the work, why not post a comment on the AE website. Have a great weekend.

Also coming soon...

Looking back at yesterday's post about my comic strip, I am reminded of another soon to be released piece of work that I have neglected to tell anyone about. The work in question is a poem called House of Dark Dreams, which has been accepted for publication in horror newsletter, Dark Metre . The poem has been published previously, but that was way back in 2007, and as it is a piece I am particularly proud of, I am very excited that it is re-entering the public arena. Dark Metre is a free publication, so I hope you will decide to check it out. The relevant issue is scheduled to be released on 7th April 2013.
